Jungkook rubbed his eyes tiredly, opening his door. His brows knitted when he found Namjoon standing in the hall, fully dressed with his backpack fully loaded, strapped on one arm.
"Hyung," He called. Namjoon was going somewhere obviously.
"I'm going to Dad's place," Namjoon said. "My exams are done and we have two months off school and I'll be—"
Jungkook's eyes bulged in horror. "You're leaving me here?"
Was that the cause of the yellings the previous night? Their mother had been yelling at Namjoon, saying he was betraying her. Jungkook hadn't gotten the full gist of the quarrel. He had been used to his mother always accusing them of one thing or the other that he didn't deem it important to always know what exactly.
Namjoon moistened his lips. It was still dark —barely dawn— but he could almost see through Namjoon's indifferent expression. His brother was happy to be leaving the house.
Jungkook shook his head. "Please."
"She doesn't get to have us both all the time, Jungkook. He's our dad too," Namjoon explained.
"He left us, Hyung." Jungkook hated both his parents. But he hated his father more for leaving them with their mother when they had been kids.
"That's what she said. That's what she keeps saying. But, I don't believe her," Namjoon said defensively, shaking his head. "Not anymore."
Jungkook didn't care what Namjoon was saying. He didn't want to be left alone with her!
"Hyung—"
"I'll be back after the holidays. I told dad I was coming. As opposed to the lies she has continued to feed us, he actually misses us. He wants to see us."
Jungkook's eyes filled with tears. He shook his head and reached for Namjoon's arm. "Please, don't go, hyung."
"Jungkook, I wish I can stay. But mum keeps driving me crazy, okay? If I stay here one more day, I'll literally explode in her face. I'll do something horrible, something I'll regret. I just need to be away, far away from her."
"I want to come with you too. Please take me with you. Wait for me to pack then we'll go together." He began to pull Namjoon into his room. His heart raced like crazy. He was about to have a panic attack from how fast blood was pumping.
Namjoon, who was much stronger than Jungkook, stood his ground. He gradually pulled his arm from Jungkook's hold. He shook his head. "You know you can't come with me. You have school. Your exams are starting in a few weeks. After your exams, I'll come for you, okay?"
Jungkook shook his head. "It's not fair. Why do I have to stay here with her? Please don't leave me. After my exams, we'll go together."
"Sorry, Jungkook. But my mind is made up."
"Then leave!"
Jungkook swiveled to the side and found their mother standing outside her room, arms crossed. She had a hard glare on her face.
"Get out of my house," She said sternly. "Go to your father!"
Namjoon's eyes glistened. He looked angry, irritated.
"Hyung," Jungkook's voice shook.
"Get into your room, Jungkook!" She fired at Jungkook.
Namjoon didn't spare Jungkook a last glance. He held onto the strap of his backpack and stormed off, bounding down the stairs with heavy steps and eventually leaving the house, banging the door.
Jungkook retreated into his room, sobbing. If there was anything he was able to change in his life, he would change everything. His life was one big circle of mess. The moment things seemed to be looking good, life would swoop up with a huge fuck you and screw him over.
Their father had left them one unsuspecting night.
Jungkook had been 8 years old, he remembered going to bed after dinner that day. His parents had not spoken a single word to each other. They had all eaten in silence. As usual, his father had tucked him in and read him his favorite bedtime story, kissed him goodnight and left.
That had been the last time Jungkook had seen the man. Namjoon had gone on holidays severally but Jungkook had been hurt, he had felt betrayed and had developed hate for the man. He had sworn never to have anything to do with him.
Their father had betrayed them. He had left them with nothing. The man was selfish, inconsiderate and heartless. Jungkook could never forgive him. Not after what he did. Not after he had broken his heart and left them with their evil mother.
---
At school, Jungkook wanted the day to end as fast as it started. He had just got to school but he already felt exhausted.
After he got out his material for the first period, he headed to class and settled on his seat, instantly placing his head on the desk. He let his thoughts drown him.
His thoughts had begun to swallow him into the deepest darkest parts when someone knocked atop his desk. He peeked up and found Taehyung looking down at him.
He buried his head back om his arms. "What?"
"Come with me," Taehyung said.
"No, thanks."
"Don't be stubborn. Just come with me."
When Jungkook brought up his head again, Taehyung was walking out. He rolled his eyes, got to his feet and followed Taehyung, reluctantly.
"I have no idea where you find the guys you date," Taehyung said, more to himself than to Jungkook.
"Are you talking to me?"
"I was speaking to myself. But I meant you. Where do you find the guys you date?" Taehyung asked, still walking to God knows where.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"I mean, obviously, I'm cute, hot and sexy. I'm a catch. Plus I'm loyal. But Yoongi? Jimin? Where did you find people like that? Why them? What do you stand to gain?"
"You arrogant, inconsiderate bastard."
Taehyung stopped walking when he realized Jungkook had ceased following him.
Taehyung frowned, eyes hooding darkly. "You can call me whatever you want, Jungkook. But at least, I loved you. At least, I understood the concept that when you love someone you never want to see them get hurt."
"What are you talking about?"
"Yoongi, your boyfriend."
"He's not my—" Jungkook paused. "What about him?"
Taehyung pulled out sheets of paper from his back pocket and gave them to Jungkook.
"What are these?"
"They're in your hands, aren't they?" Taehyung retorted. "But if you must know, those are texts between your current boo and your former boo. Apparently, that minion you go around with is a snake. He was the one who made that post, outing you and mocking you. He hacked into Jimin's laptop, created a Facebook account so the IP address would be traced to Jimin, therefore making the idiot nerd the culprit while he, the actual culprit who is Yoongi, goes free. He's so intelligent, I must say. I was impressed when I found out."
Jungkook's eyes flickered over the papers. They were text conversations. He didn't read them all but he got the message.
"You're lying."
"I would never lie to you."
"I don't understand!" Jungkook yelled.
Taehyung snatched his hand and pulled him into the janitor's closet.
"Yoongi made the post, okay? He accused Jimin of it, just to get him out of the way. He's making a way for himself. He's pushing everyone away from you, so he can stand in as your knight in shining armor, the one who always offers you a shoulder to cry on after causing damage."
"Why should I believe you? How did you get this!?"
"Why does it matter? I'm telling you your boyfriend is a backstabbing son of a bitch. I knew something was up with him! I didn't want to interfere in this silly matter but after Jimin got suspended and you began to hang out with Yoongi, I couldn't help it. I had to dig deep. So, I met with Jimin. I got him to talk after much persuasion, he told me everything Yoongi had done. He even let me take the screenshots." Taehyung scoffed. "Now, I knew Yoongi was obsessed with you, I just didn't know he would take it this far."
"Obsessed?"
"Yes, obsessed. Isn't it obvious?! Okay! Let me ask this. Your grades. Aren't you shocked how despite how much you flunk tests and write absolutely nothing in exams you still miraculously always end up with Cs? Have you ever asked yourself how come?"
"I'm not a dummy!"
"News flash, you're not smart either! Yoongi hacks into the system at the end of every term to change your scores." He slapped the papers in Jungkook's hands. "It's all in there! Everything is there! He stupidly confessed it to Jimin. Snap out of it. Get the hell away from Yoongi. He's going to ruin your life!"
"I don't believe you."
"Fuck you, Jungkook!" Taehyung yelled angrily. "Seriously? Why do you have to be like this?! I'm trying to help you. Look, I don't care what you say anymore. I'm telling Principal Li about this if you won't. Yoongi has to go."
Jungkook blinked. It felt like he was in a bad dream. One that seemed too real.
"Why are you doing this? What makes you different from Yoongi?" His heart shattered as he spoke. He felt the shreds prick his chest nonstop. He was getting hurt by everyone around him. No one was real anymore. "You think I'll run into your arms to get away from Yoongi?"
Taehyung's eyes bore into Jungkook's. They held a longing look for a moment —one Jungkook had very much seen when they had been dating, one he had missed— then instantly they disappeared. Taehyung's look turned blank. "I loved you, I still do and always will. But this is the last time you will ever hear me say those words to you."
Jungkook swallowed. His eyes focused on Taehyung's lips as they spoke words that reassured Jungkook that he truly was alone.
"So, no, I don't hope for you to run into my arms because if you do, I will not catch you, neither will I hold you."

Before the next chapter, who do you think actually made the facebook post? Was it Jimin like they found out in the previous chapters? Or is Taehyung right with his accusations about Yoongi? Or is it even Taehyung behind it all??? Or someone totally unsuspecting?
Guess! I want to know.
