"—Babe?"
Jin blinked, bringing himself out of his thoughts and looked back, over the couch, at Hoseok. "Huh?"
Hoseok gave him a small smile and weighed two packs of noodles in his palms.
Furrowing his brows, Jin shook his head. "What?"
"Which one do you want?"
Jin did not comprehend Hoseok's question at first, then he looked closely and realized Hoseok was holding different brands of noodles and was seeking his opinion on which one to cook. He leaned back into his seat and looked at the TV, away from Hoseok.
"No, thank you."
"Why not? You haven't had anything all day. Come on, eat noodles. Please?"
Jin wanted to be far away from Hoseok at the moment. He blamed him for everything that he was going through at that moment. He was brokenhearted and Hoseok was the very cause of it.
"No, thank you." Food was the last thing on Jin's mind. His mind was in a spiral. He imagined how differently he would be feeling if he had chosen Jungkook over Hoseok. He would not be half as heartbroken as he was in that moment because seeing and talking to Jungkook would make him feel better.
But as it stood, Jungkook was neither picking his calls nor responding to his texts. He had called over a hundred times since 4 days ago, he had texted a ton of messages but Jungkook had not been lying when he said he would never contact him again.
Jin's throat tightened in hurt. He wanted to close his eyes, fall into a deep sleep and forget everything that was bringing pain to him. His exams had started that morning and he had barely been able to answer 7 out of 10 questions. He was in a conflicting mood. He so badly wanted to see Jungkook just as much as he wanted to forget he ever existed.
"Hoseok, please, I'm not hungry. I'll eat when I feel like, " Jin said, seeing as Hoseok still stood by the Kitchen watching him.
Hoseok sighed in defeat. He tossed the packs of noodles on the counter. "Okay then. Let's stay hungry together." He approached the couch and sat next to Jin.
Jin remained still, eyes glued to the TV with no idea what was showing. He felt Hoseok watching him eagerly. It made him uneasy. He got to his feet and began to leave.
Hoseok chased him and held him around the waist, pulling Jin against his body.
"Hoseok—"
Hoseok breathed shakily against his body. "What have I done, Jin?"
Blinking, Jin exhaled. He needed to be away, alone. Just him and his thoughts.
"You have been so distant since when I got back on Sunday. What did I do wrong? Please tell me so I that I can make it up to you."
"Leave me alone, Hoseok. Please." His skin itched. He wanted to scream in irritation.
Hoseok held him tighter. "Babe, I know I haven't been the best boyfriend to you. I have done terrible things which I regret a lot. But I'm trying to be a better person. I want to make us work. So, please help me to be better. Tell me when I have messed up so, I can apologize and take correction. Please."
Please. Apologize. Trying to be better. They were words and phrases Jin had heard too many time. He was tired of hearing them, especially since they had become a national anthem for Hoseok.
He placed his hands atop Hoseok's and with his strength, pulled Hoseok's intertwined hands from around his waist. He pushed them away and walked into his room with Hoseok calling him.
--
Hoseok stepped out of his dorm building and headed to the supermarket just down the school road. He needed a drink —just one— to clear his head.
He had promised never to be around Jin when he was angry, at least, not until he had learned how to properly manage his anger. He didn't want to hit Jin, ever again. He had brought so much devastation and depression to Jin. Never again. Jin deserves the best him, and that was the person he was going to be.
The evening was chilly, the sky had turned a purplish hue over the horizon and wind blew coolly against his skin. He wanted to resume taking walks with Jin, especially in the evenings. He had to fix his relationship so they could become how they were a year ago, even better than they were.
He was trying his best, he was doing all he could but Jin was becoming more and more distant from him. Jin had been by his side all along —his best and worst— and had persevered. Now that he was determined to be the boyfriend Jin wanted, it seemed Jin was giving up on them. Hoseok knew he would not be able to withstand the heartache if Jin left him. He had been a monster, but he had never stopped loving Jin, not even for a minute.
When he got to the store, he made a tough chose of walking to the beer shelf and coming out empty-handed. Instead, he moved to the freezer and got out a large tube of Ice Cream, Jin's favorite. He paid for it, tipped the cashier and left.
Jin was cold towards him, something was eating him up. It might be repressed anger from how Hoseok had treated him. But Hoseok was not giving up on him. He was going to try and try and try until Jin saw his efforts.
As he turned into the street to his dorm, he heard a voice from behind softly call his name.
Hoseok turned and was faced with a lanky, good looking boy with silver hair. He had a nice smile on.
"Ah, so she wasn't lying after all, " The boy commented in a satisfyingly small voice.
Hoseok raised a brow in confusion. "Sorry?"
"I'm referring to the lady who told me your name was Hoseok."
Licking his lips, Hoseok stared the boy down. He was wearing a Versace shirt with the first three buttons undone, 4 thin gold chains hung around his slim long neck. He wore suspenders that fell loosely on black skinny jeans and white Gucci sneaker. When he looked up at the boy's face, his plump lips were pulled in an amused smile.
"You should at least learn my name before you eye-fuck me, " He said teasingly.
Hoseok furrowed his brows. The guy was talking nonsense.
The guy nodded, still smiling amusingly. "Anyways, the name is Bambam." He stretched out his hand towards Hoseok.
Hoseok took it and shook. Bambam scratched the inside of Hoseok's palm with his index finger causing Hoseok to retreat immediately.
"Look, Hoseok, you're not a shy person I know, so I'll go straight to the point. I like you, " He spoke calmly. "I saw you a few days ago when I came to visit my cousin and I couldn't help but be drawn to your aura."
"My aura?"
"You are a handsome student. I am a rich businessman who likes being of help to those willing to accept it."
Hoseok frowned. "Hold on. How old are you?" He could swear the boy —or man— standing before him was not older than 17.
"28. Why? I don't look it, I know." He put his arm around Hoseok and turned to point at a black Mercedes-Benz G-class. "That's my newest baby." He whispered to Hoseok. "Look, baby, I can take care of you."
Hoseok smiled. Temptations. "Thank you for the offer, man. But I'm good." He started to leave.
"Come on, " Bambam called chasing after him, relentlessly.
"Dude, I'm in a relationship. Get thee behind me, " Hoseok rebuked.
"I'm engaged. We are just having fun, baby. I can give you whatever you want, just name it."
Hoseok swiveled to face him, shooting him a glare and grunted. "What I want is for Jin to see that I love him and that he means the world to me. I also want him to know that I am trying to be a better boyfriend, to fix my past mistakes and that, I will not hesitate to decapitate whoever tried to get in between us. Including imbeciles who wear suspenders."

Jin sat on his bed, head buried in his hands. His body vibrated in frustration. He was sorry, so sorry for hurting Jungkook. He wanted to tell him. But Jungkook was not giving him a chance to.
It had been 3 whole days and it felt like forever. Jin was losing his mind. He missed his Kookie, his Jungkook. His missed his beautiful brown eyes that resembled honey drop in the brightest sunlight, his round nose that flared whenever he spoke, his pink small lips that tasted like marshmallows and heaven when Jin had kissed him. He missed everything about the tall teenager.
He had shut everyone out because no one could bring Jungkook to speak to him because no one else was his chocolate Kookie. The worst was, he feared Jungkook hated him. That Jungkook saw him like the rest. He has confided in Jin, Jin had promised to protect him but he had been like the rest.
Jin ran his fingers through his head as he got to his feet. He paced about his room tirelessly, shaking his head in regret, chewing aggressively on his lower lip in deep thought and pounding his fists together in loss for what to do.
In the last 20 minutes, he had alternated between calling and texting the boy. Apologizing for betraying and hurting him. He was supposed to be the perfect hyung. He had tried to be Jungkook's perfect hyung. He had hidden his pains and tears so he would not appear weak to the boy. He had stopped himself from crying and confessing that he too needed comforting.
He had needed Jungkook to hug him, as he had done, and tell him he was going to be fine. At that moment, he needed Jungkook more than ever to hold him and say, "Jin hyung, I'm here for you."
Jin held his head and cried in his hands. His heart was shattered. He was unhappy and inconsolable. His life seemed to be pivoting from bad to worse. Now seemed like the worst stage because the had never felt so alone, dejected and heartsick in his life. All of Hoseok's beatings put together could not compare to the physical, emotional and mental pain he was going through. So, he cried his heart out because, at that point, it was the only thing he could do.
Hoseok soon got back and found him in that same position. Jin didn't hide his tears anymore. He cried as Hoseok stood at his door frame watching him. He sobbed, fell to the floor and drew his knees to his chest.
Hoseok said nothing. He walked over to him, pulled him against his body and hugged him as he cried.
He remained in Hoseok's hold for the longest period and when he would begin to pull himself together, he would remember Jungkook's last words to him and he would begin to cry again. Because it was as real as it could get.
He had lost his best friend, his comforter, his sunshine after a stormy weather, his love. He had lost his choco kookie.
