"Jungkook."
Jungkook dragged his eyes open, still pressing the pillow into his face. He wasn't yet ready to be blinded by the sun.
"Jungkookie," Namjoon sang as he shoved his body lightly causing Jungkook to steer on the bed. "How're you this morning?"
Jungkook groaned into the pillow, irritated that Namjoon had woken him up.
He had barely slept the previous night. Crying and alternatively blaming himself and Taehyung for his misery.
If only Taehyung wasn't a sex starved bastard, they'd still be together and he wouldn't be crying.
If only he wasn't so petrified of sex, they'd still be together and he wouldn't be blaming himself or anyone because then he wouldn't be in any misery.
Boys his age shouldn't be going through problems because of sex. Boys his age had things like games, movies, pizza, sports and bullying. Not sexual problems.
His teenage years was being wasted on heart breaks and shedding tears.
"Fine," He mumbled in response, pressing the pillow deeper over his face.
"Is that so, little man?" Namjoon teased poking him in the side, grinning widely and purposely irritating Jungkook.
"Hyung, stop!" Jungkook shrieked jumping from the bed, away from Namjoon who was kneeling with one leg at the edge of the bed, his hands opened wide to attack Jungkook again. "Hyung, no!"
Namjoon laughed. "What am I doing?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes, standing from the bed. "Aren't you going to school?"
Namjoon was fully dressed in an oversized blue and black stripped shirt with the sleeves folded a few inches above his wrist, a white skinny jeans hugging his long, slim legs and black vans. His cologne filled the air, enveloping Jungkook's air freshener in it's musky, sweet scent.
"I am. In fact I have a test in 40 minutes but I had to check on the baby of the house," Namjoon teased, flashing a sarcastic smile at Jungkook.
"I'm fine."
Jungkook moved away from the bed to his reading desk which was on the other side where Namjoon was now standing, next to the door.
"Then why aren't you dressed for school? First period at school just began," Namjoon showed the powered screen of his phone to Jungkook.
8:02am.
"I'm not going."
"Yeah, obviously. Do you feel sick?"
"Not your business."
Namjoon rolled his eyes. "I'm asking 'cos I care."
"Well, your care isn't going to help my situation now, is it?" Jungkook spat, shocking Namjoon.
Namjoon's mouth fell open to speak but the words hung and he shut them. "Someone's extra sweet this morning."
Jungkook cussed himself inwardly for acting so rude to Namjoon. He never acted like a spoilt brat towards Namjoon before. But he was frustrated of the whole issue. He felt helpless and helplessness was an irritating feeling.
Jungkook turned to Namjoon who was nibbling on his lips in contemplation, his eyes looking everywhere but at him.
Jungkook leaned against the desk. "Hyung." He called softly. "I'm sorry. I didn't sleep early last night so I'm a little irritated this morning."
Namjoon nodded. "I see."
Jungkook nodded as well, not knowing what to say.
"So, I'm off to school now. I'll see you when I get back. Yeah?"
Jungkook noddee once again.
Namjoon flashed Jungkook a small smile and started to leave but stopped briefly next to Jungkook.
Jungkook didn't expect, neither did he see the swift movement of Namjoon's hand connecting to the back of his head, producing a sharp pain.
Jungkook yelped and jumped from both shock and pain, holding onto his head. "Why-why would you do that!?"
Namjoon said rolled his eyes at Jungkook and started to head out.
Jungkook stared holes through Namjoon's back. "But I apologized!"
"Yeah? Well, sorry too," Namjoon called back.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, rubbing the subsiding pain at the back of his head.
Soon, he heard the front door close, meaning he was alone in the house.
On a normal day he would have called Taehyung to come over, but also on a normal day he would be at school by that time in first period, Computer Sciece with Miss Joy. And not at home nursing his broken heart.
He wished he was able to open up to Namjoon, but he didn't know if Namjoon was homophobic or not. He wasn't ready to find out and be judged.
All he wanted was to feel better, and not feel like his heart was outside of his body hanging by a thread and trailing behind him on the floor gathering dust and sand as he walked.
Jungkook walked back to his bed and sat down, but also immediately remembered he actually had someone to talk to about how he felt.
He dived his reading desk, where his phone was lying on the books he'd let out to dry yesterday. Taking a sit on his chair, he powered his phone screen and all the notifications appeared.
2 missed calls from Yoongi
04:18am
1 missed call from Jinnie Hyung <3
07:21am
1 text message from Jinnie Hyung <3
07:22am
Jungkook ceremoniously tapped on the text notification from Jin and the message appeared.
From Jinnie Hyung <3
Kookie, why aren't you picking my calls? Are you okay?
The message was sent an hour ago and as Jungkook composed a response to Jin, another message entered from Jin.
Do you want to talk about it? You know sometimes it helps.
As if Jin had read his mind because Jungkook had wanted to ask Jin to meet him.
To Jinnie Hyung <3
Hyung, let's talk at the cafe in 15 minutes.
Jin's response was immediate.
From Jinnie Hyung <3
Okay. See you soon.
Jungkook didn't bother to return Yoongi's call as it wasn't unusual. He didn't want to have anything to do with his ex. Once he had answered Yoongi's calls at 2am and listened to Yoongi sweet talk him and almost lured him back while he had still been with Taehyung. He had promised himself never to answer Yoongi's calls again.
He would only answer Yoongi's calls once in a while so Yoongi wouldn't begin calling him with different numbers. With that, he had an advantage of knowing who was calling him and whether to respond at that moment or not.
Yoongi wasn't even his problem, at that moment he just wanted to talk his problems away. So, Jungkook went to take a quick shower and got dressed.
It didn't take long before Jungkook was walking through the glass door of the familiar cafe. The same cafe he and Jin had met a few montjs back, which had become their hangout spot.
Jungkook walked into the place, putting his head up and peeking through his hat, in search of Jin.
The cafe was scanty, a few people sat at the tables and booths eating breakfast or waiting for their orders. The place smelled of buns and coffee, which was the most requested order in the cafe, at least from what Jungkook was seeing.
But he wasn't seeing Jin.
Jungkook went to take a seat at a booth and waited for Jin. He was sure Jin wouldn't take long before getting there, so he didn't bother to call him.
He let his eyes scan the small room, feeding on the people eating. The population were mostly working class men and women, and a few people who were in sweats -the morning joggers.
Jungkook had at a point been jogging because his schoolmate had called him fat. He had almost let it lead to depression but he instead chose to work on himself. Unfortunately, after jogging for the first time he stopped. Nah, he didn't have the energy to wake up as early as 6am to jog before preparing for school by 7.
Also, he got to realize the boy had been a douche. He hadn't been fat, he had been perfectly sized for his age and height.
Jungkook's eyes wandered for a couple of seconds and he couldn't help but wonder why Jin was running late. Though, coming out was taking his mind off Taehyung, he also wanted to see Jin and talk to him despite.
There was this feeling of reassurance and comfort he felt around Jin and he needed that then.
He had decided to call Jin to ask if he was still coming when a boy in uniform and an apron, holding a pad and pen, walked up to him.
"Good morning," The boy said, his lips lifted at both sides as he looked down at Jungkook.
"Hi, good morning," Jungkook returned the smile.
The boy looked older than he was. Probably around Namjoon's age.
"Are you waiting for someone?"
Jungkook nodded, looking around to see if Jin had walked in before looking back at the boy.
"Yes, my friend. He'll soon be here."
"Well, how about I get you something to drink while you wait for your friend to come. What'd you think?"
"That would be nice. I'll like Ice Tea please."
The boy nodded, his gaze piercingly fixed on Jungkook. "And how about I throw in some pancakes? On the house."
"Oh, no. Thank you."
"Sure? It's free," He cajoled.
Jungkook smiled but shook his head. "I'm sure. Just Ice tea. Thank you."
The boy's eyes fluttered softly as he sent one nod to Jungkook before turning around and walking away, behind the counter.
Jungkook sat back into the couch and watched the TV. The station was tuned to News and he wasn't the slightest bit interested in News but he had to keep himself busy.
Few minutes later, Jungkook casually looked away from the TV and found Jin walking over to him.
Jin saw Jungkook look at him and he flashed a sweet, sympathetic smile at Jungkook.
Jungkook watched him approach his booth, throwing his long legs almost in a professional model like manner, hands shoved into the pockets of his washed jeans.
"Chocolate Kookie," Jin teased as he got to the table, stretching his hand and letting it graze Jungkook's chin fondly, before pulling away.
Jungkook sat out so he could lean on the table, just like Jin was. "Hyung," he smiled happily. "You're here."
"Did I take long? I had to quickly go submit an application form at a company nearby for my friend. I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it, hyung. You didn't take long." Jungkook played with his fingers on the table. "Sorry for making you come out."
"Of course I had to come out. I was worried."
"Sorry for making you worry."
Jin shook his head, licking his lips briefly. "I worry because I care for you and it's not something for you to be sorry for. I'll always be here for you."
Jungkook's gaze fell, a small smile, which he tried to fight, forming on his lips.
Jin chuckled. "Do you want to take something?"
"No," Then he recalled the Ice Tea he had sent for. "But I ordered for Ice Tea."
"Okay," Jin nodded, letting his tongue wet his lips again. "So, tell me. What happened?"
Jungkook's smile fell, along with his head and his shoulders. He had almost forgotten his reason for his meeting with Jin and now he remembered it, his was feeling weak all over again.
"I broke up with him."
Jin nodded for Jungkook to go on because obviously Jungkook would have more to rant about than just that.
"He, uh, he... at first, I went to see him because he wasn't at school and his classmates told me he was sick so I went to his house. We got talking and something led to another, we started to make out, you know?"
"Yeah." Jin nodded, looking attentively at Jungkook.
"But he wanted more but I didn't want it. He tried to persuade me with sweet words.." Jin's brows knitted but he didn't say anything. "Then he started to become really mean. He called me a boy toy and then told me I was going to die a loner because I never let anyone to have sex with me. And maybe he's right. Maybe I'll end up alone, hyung."
Jin shook his head furiously, his bangs falling over his face." Don't, don't, Kookie. Please don't say that. You'll not end up a loner okay? Like you said, he was just trying to get you go to bed that was why he made use of those words to guilt-trip you. You're a sweet, handsome person and it's his loss. It's all their losses for letting you go over something so petty as this."
"W-what if I'm being too selfish by refusing them, hyung? It's not entirely their fault."
"You're not being selfish. It's your choice. You don't want to do it. It makes you uncomfortable. You don't have to work yourself up about it, Kookie. You should only have sex when you want to, not because you feel pressured."
Jungkook sniffed, using his palm to quickly wipe the tears that fell from his eyes.
"Oh my God.. My chocolate Kookie," Jin cooed seeing Jungkook like that. He stood up and went over to Jungkook's side, taking a sit and then wrapping his arms around Jungkook, bringing Jungkook to rest on his shoulder. "Please don't cry, my cinnamon roll."
"Hyung, why am I so afraid of sex? If not for my fear, this wouldn't be happening. It hurts to feel like this. I thought Taehyung liked me."
Jin rubbed Jungkook's arm. "Look.. a lot of people enter relationships these days for the wrong reasons. Luckily, my chocolate Kookie is all about the feelings and the love, but unfortunately most other people only want to satisfy their insatiable sexual desires. Sex is meaningless unless the both of your connects deeply. I don't want you to make irrational decisions."
Jungkook's silence was painful. Only sniffs and mouth breaths were heard once in a while.
"You hear me, Kookie? I don't want you to make decisions and have regrets. Forget about Taehyung and his demands. Focus on what's important; your education. You have a lot to gain from that and not from peer pressures. Mmh? I care for you and I don't want you crying over boys. You're too good for that. Taehyung isn't worth it. And- what's the other one's name again - that one isn't worth it either. Instead of thinking about Taehyung or the others, think about; the math assignment you did good on; your mum and how you want to buy her the most beautiful mansion in the world; the next season of Game Of Thrones; think about your beautiful self. Think about things that actually matter."
Jungkook's silence lingered for a while longer and Jin had to let his words sink in.
"You're different, hyung. Sometimes I think you're not real and I'm the only one that can see you."
Jin's gloomy expression turned into curious amusement.
"How so, Kookie?" Jin pulled him closer, resting his head on Jungkook's head.
"You're perfect, hyung. Very perfect. Too perfect to be true. Too perfect to be my friend and to care for me like you do."
Jin wrapped his two arms around Jungkook's petite body, shutting his eyes and inhaling deeply and then exhaling.
"I don't know what to say, my Kookie, but trust me, I feel the same way with you."
