Once Jungkook's body touched with the soft mattress, he fell right asleep next to his Jin hyung. The next time he was waking up, Jin was kneeling over the edge of the with one leg on the floor and the other hanging off the bed, while looking down at him, his hair was disheveled and his eyes dark like he hadn't slept.
Jungkook turned on the bed, groaning and pouting.
"Hyung..." Jungkook called, sitting up on his elbows and yawned, then rubbed his face tiredly.
Jin chuckled at him. "Morning, sleeping beauty. Did you sleep well?"
As a matter of fact, he did. He had slept more peacefully than ever, snuggled up next to Jin, his sweet, musky scent filling the room and causing a roar in Jungkook's stomach. Jin's body had been soft, safe and homey, and Jungkook had felt at ease in his arms. He had seized the opportunity, the moment he had always dreamt of, and had slept with a smile on his face forgetting all his worries and fears.
Jungkook blushed, nodding. "I did. Did- Did y...." Another loud yawn escaped his mouth and he ended it laughing when he saw the amused look on Jin's face. "What?"
Jin shook his head, still smiling amusingly at him.
"But you're smiling like that!" Jungkook whined, sticking out his bottom lip. He grabbed a pillow and pressed it to his face.
Jin leaned over the bed, resting his body on his arm. "That's because you're so adorable and my heart can't handle it sometimes."
Jungkook's smile fell and his eyes doubled. His throat bobbed up and down as the pillow fell limply from his face and he stared at Jin whose gaze was piercing and challenging. Jungkook opened his mouth to speak but words failed him. His heart slapped against his chest frantically.
"H-hyung." Jungkook blinked out of his trance and looked down.
Jin let out a small laugh. "Come on, I say it all the time, Kookie."
Not like that, Jungkook thought. Jin always said he was cute and adorable and he sometimes said he was too beautiful for him, but he had never said it that way. Not in that format or sentence.
Jungkook nodded, but didn't look up. Jin shook his head, smiling as he stood up to his full length.
"So, it's past 6. Get up, so you can eat and I'll take you back before your family realises you're not at home."
Jungkook nodded, not saying anything.
"I'll order something for you to eat and then you can have a bath, yeah?" Jin smiled at him.
"Okay."
"Okay." Jin nodded and moved towards the telephone.
Jungkook let out a breath, a hand placed over his chest. Jin was affecting him in ways he couldn't explain. In ways that made his heart beat like crazy and his hands vibrate in excitement. He loved listening to little things like that because it made him feel good and made Jin not seem so out of his league. It gave him a little hope.
Climbing out of bed, Jungkook stretched to his full length, yawning just as Jin turned to look at him to give him an encouraging smile but Jin immediately looked away, scratching behind his neck as he placed the receiver on the telephone.
He hadn't even ordered.
"Uh," Jin rubbed behind his neck and looked at Jungkook's face, biting his lip. He smiled. "So, I'll just go down to the Kitchen to order. It's much better than calling from up here."
Jungkook furrowed his brows. Was it really better? That was stressful.
He cleared his throat, still looking very pointedly at Jungkook's face. "You're going to eat pancake and drink juice, right? Or would you like something else?"
Jungkook shook his head, eyeing Jin suspiciously. "It's fine." What was he up to?
Jin nodded, looking down as he scratched between his eyes. "Okay then. I'll be out for 20 minutes, okay? So, just play around."
With that Jin, turned around and left the room without another glance.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes in confusion. What was that all about? Was Jin okay? He didn't understand what had happened and why Jin had been so tensed just a few seconds back. Did he do something wrong? Was Jin regretting coming out with him.
He should have known. He was a bother to everyone, even Jin. How could he not be? All he had to offer was tears and sad stories. He gave back nothing but sorrow in their relationship while Jin gave all the happiness. He should have known that sooner or later, Jin would get sick of him.
Jungkook's throat dried as he blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall, but his eyes fell on a huge problem as he lowered his head to look down at his feet. His mouth fell wide as he stared at the very obvious bulge in his pants.
That was why Jin left! Jungkook stared at his tent in disbelief and cried in embarrassment. Jin had seen it!! How could he have a hard on with Jin around!? He was such a little pervert! Jin would think of him as a pervert! How would he ever face Jin in this life?! He had to disappear for good and never resurface!
"Jungkook, you little rapist!" He cried as he slapped his forehead numerously, trudging to the bathroom to fix himself.
After taking care of his business and rounding up with his hygiene, Jungkook changed into his clothes and limped into the room.
It was only when he had been in the bathroom he realised he felt a pain in his right knee region. He remembered falling down the stairs the previous night.
Jungkook shrugged off the feeling and went to lay on the bed, his legs hanging off the edge. His phone was still switched off since the previous night. He didn't want to receive calls of sympathy or mockery. He didn't want to hear from anyone. He knew he would have to go back to his life that evening, but for the main time, he wanted to be nocturnal.
It was almost 7 in the morning, and when his mother and brother don't find him in his room, they would assume he had left for school. That was what he intended that morning; stay with Jin all day, then change into his uniform and go home. He had thought it out since the previous night while he waited for Jin. His school uniform was folded neatly in his backpack that was by the side of the bed.
He couldn't go to school. He didn't dare to.
Jin soon arrived after a small knock on the door. Jungkook sat up and watched him walk into the room, followed by a man in uniform pushing a trolley.
"Hey." Jin smiled at him. Then he eyed his clothing. "You aren't prepared for school?"
Jungkook shook his head. "I don't want to go."
Jin nodded. The service guy pushed the trolley to the middle of the room, emptied the contents on the small table sandwiched by two small chairs, before leaving the room.
"Why don't you want to go to school?"
"I want to stay with you."
"Kookie-"
Jungkook sighed. "Everyone at school knows. Somehow, someone leaked the news on Facebook that I'm...that I'm gay." He shook his head. "I didn't want anyone to know, but the person didn't care. That was why I had to tell my family, before they found out from outside." Then he exhaled loudly, laughing unamusingly. "I can't face anyone now."
Jin was silent for a minute, looking down, biting his lips. He nodded. "Let's eat."
Jungkook felt grateful Jin didn't press the matter. He already felt embarrassed whining to Jin all the time and being so weak around him. So, he got to his feet and walked over to the table.
Jin eyed his steps. "What's wrong with your leg?"
"Oh." Jungkook blushed. "I fell down the stairs yesterday."
"You fell down the stairs?" Jin asked, staring at Jungkook.
Jungkook nodded, shyly. "It's fine, Hyung. I'm fine."
Jin shook his head. "Kookie, you should have told me you hurt yourself." He approached Jungkook and knelt before him. "Where?"
"Hyung..." Jungkook began to protest.
"Where?" Jin repeated.
Jungkook gave up. He touched his knee. "Here."
Jin placed his hand on the hurting knee, he pressed down on it. Jungkook hissed. Jin looked up at him, his eyes reflected concern and hurt. He shook his head. "Kookie, you should be careful."
Jungkook nodded. "Hyung, I didn't mean to. I was upset. Anyone gets hurt,'' He muttered.
"I know. But I hate to imagine you getting hurt. And now see." His voice was soft, calm.
Jungkook swallowed. "Sorry."
"No." Jin cupped his face. Jungkook subconsciously leaned into his touch. "Don't say sorry."
Jungkook got lost in his gaze, more confident when in a trance to continue swooning over Jin.
"After eating," Jin started, snapping Jungkook from his trance. "I'll massage it."
Jungkook nodded. "O-" He cleared his throat. "Okay."
"Okay," Jin said, flashing him a smile. He gave Jungkook's knee a small rub before getting to his feet and assuming the sit opposite Jungkook's.
After they ate, Jin made a call and requested for balm which he used to massage Jungkook's knees. Jungkook winced and cried in pain as Jin professionally worked on him. He almost asked Jin if there was anything he wasn't good at, but he was in so much pain to start teasing. He also tried to ignore the shivers running up his spine at every touch Jin made on his knee. He couldn't afford another embarrassing state.
"Sorry, Kookie. I'm sorry," Jin said sympathetically as he set the balm down. "Your leg will swell if I didn't massage it and walking will be a problem. I'm sorry."
Jungkook nodded. "It's okay. Thank you." He wanted to cry, but he was a big boy, and big boys don't cry of such petty things.
Jin rubbed the leg softly. "I'm done, okay? You just have to relax it for a while, yeah?"
"Yes. Thanks." His voice was hoarse. Jin noticed it. He leaned down and blew air on Jungkook's knee.
"There you go. It should be as good as new soon," Jin smiled, teasingly as he gently set Jungkook's leg on the bed.
For a minute, Jungkook had thought Jin was going to kiss his knee like they did in the movies.
Jungkook smiled. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Jin got to his feet and grabbed a hand towel which he used to wipe the hot substance from his hand. "I'll order Ice Cream, and you can eat it while watching a movie."
"Can we go downstairs? I want to look around the hotel."
"Your leg... You can't move around until a couple of hours."
Jungkook stuck out his bottom lip. "Oh."
Jin sat next to him. "When the aching stops-"
"It's not aching," Jungkook lied.
Jin smiled. "Okay. Let's just relax for about an hour, then we can take a tour around the hotel."
Jin seemed really worried and Jungkook knew it was only because he cared for him, so he gave in. He nodded.
"Okay. Let's watch a movie."
So, they relaxed in the room, watching Animal Planet.
Later on, Jungkook had watched Jin sleep for 15 minutes, wondering how it had taken him so long to realise he was in love with him. There was absolutely nothing not to love about Jin. The only problem was, he was much younger and he came with a lot of baggage. Jin might like him as a young friend, but Jungkook wasn't certain if Jin would ever see him as anything else.
When Jin eventually woke up a few hours later, Jungkook had taken a nap and was munching on snacks and licking Ice Cream. Jin had joined in after which Jungkook had prodded him to take him on a tour.
They had gone about the hotel, Jungkook running about like a kid and ignoring Jin's pleas to not strain his knee.
They took a caddy around the field at the other end of the hotel, to the golf course. Jungkook had found it fascinating and had begged to ride the caddy. To him, it was like riding a car and when Jin let him, he reenacted movie scenes.
By the pool, Jungkook sat on the edge, shirtless with his legs dipped into the water. Jin had gone to get them drinks. He let the sun warm his body while the water cooled him from inside. The sweet Chapman drink had tasted like heaven and Jungkook had had 3 more glasses after which Jin had refused to let him have more for fear of sugar rush.
They had later had barbecue by the fields and Jungkook had begged to drink from Jin's glass of alcohol, which Jin had strongly refused.
After sulking about Jin not letting him drink a little, Jungkook had laughed and talked with Jin, asking him silly questions and making jokes about the people on by the pool. It had been the best day of his life.
But evidently, it had to come to an end.
On the way back to the room, Jungkook clung to Jin, their fingers entwined, his shoulder roughly brushing against Jin's smooth arm.
If only you could be mine, hyung, Jungkook had thought sadly as he tightened his hold on Jin's hand. Then we could have days like this more often.
"Did you have fun?" Jin asked as they walked into the elevator.
"Too much."
"Are you happy?"
Jungkook nodded. "Very. Are you?" He looked up at Jin, hopefully. Curious. Did he make Jin as happy as Jin made him?
"Yes," Jin answered. "I am."
Jungkook blushed, looking down. "I wish it didn't have to end. I don't want to be without you."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault."
The elevator doors opened and they both stepped out, walking to their room.
"When I graduate high school, I'm going to come to your school and we'll be roommates," Jungkook stated.
Jin didn't say anything. How do he tell Jungkook the truth?
"Then everyday will be like this. Then I get to be with you every minute."
"That would be wonderful." Jin couldn't kill Jungkook's dream. His own dream.
Jungkook smiled. "That's the only thing keeping me going. Because I know we'll still be together."
Jungkook knew his words were likely to be misinterpreted. But he didn't explain that he meant they would be together as roommates. He, in fact, wanted to be misinterpreted. Jin had to know what he imagined for the both of them.
When they got to the room, Jin excused himself while Jungkook changed into his uniform. The sight of the uniform brought depressing memories and Jungkook quickly looked away from it.
The journey home was silent, the air was heavy. Jungkook's heart was heavy. Heavy that he was parting ways with Jin. Heavy his paradise had come to an end. He was back to his normal life.
Back to hell.
The cab driver stopped at the Junction. Jin didn't get down, he turned to Jungkook.
"I want to walk you home but I don't want you getting in trouble of people seeing me," He said.
Jungkook didn't say anything. His eyes tingled.
"Take care of yourself okay? And remember to call me. If you need a getaway, I'll be ready to take you away. You'll be fine."
Jungkook swallowed. His heart had began to race. He knew what world he was walking into once he got down from the car.
Jin pulled him into a hug.
"I'll always be here for you."
Jungkook's mouth was too heavy to respond.
They pulled away and Jungkook got down. The Taxi didn't drive away until Jungkook got to his house and walked up to the door. He looked back at the cab, still parked and wished he had it in him to run back there, jump in and ask Jin to take him far away, never to return.
But he couldn't. He didn't have the courage.
When he got out his key to open the door, to his chagrin, the door was already unlocked. He looked back at the Taxi that waa still in it's spot.
Was it too late to run back?
It meant Namjoon was home. It was just 4, so he came home early.
His heart sank when he remembered Namjoon's words. He hoped to silently go to his room without being noticed.
But when he walked into the living room, Namjoon wasn't just standing by the stairs with a glass of water in his hand. Their mother was sat on the couch, staring at the door. Staring at him.
Jungkook paused.
"Jeon Jungkook, where are you coming from!? And don't you dare tell me it's school because I just spoke with your principal."
