Jungkook stood at the top of the stairs, watching Namjoon thrash the whole place.
If their mother were home, Namjoon would have been dead for over 15 minutes now since when Namjoon had come home drunk.
"Hyung!" He yelled Namjoon's name once more, for the nth time.
Namjoon stumbled around the room, unable to keep his balance.
Why was he drunk? It was annoying see him that way. Though, Jungkook doubted he had gotten drunk in school. He must have either ditched school to go clubbing or had gone after class.
A picture frame came flying in Jungkook's direction. The glass frame flew over his head as Jungkook ducked, with a panicked gasp.
He swivelled around to look at the shreds of glass on the floor. He turned to Namjoon with a glare, imagining the impact the object would have caused if it had hit him.
"Hey! Hyung, what the hell is wrong with you? Do you want to kill me!?" Jungkook snapped at him.
"What?" Namjoon rocked back and forth. "What did you just say to me?"
Jungkook took a step back, eyeing Namjoon's suspicious body movements.
"Hyung, you're really becoming annoying. Just look at you, drunk.." Jungkook said, sincerely, shoving his hand into his pockets.
Namjoon held unto the couch to stop himself from falling over.
"Me? Drunk?"
Jungkook looked down at his feet, sniffing nonchalantly.
"You're dead!"
Jungkook yelped as Namjoon jumped at him, taking the stairs 4 at a time.
"Hyung!" Jungkook screamed as Namjoon's hand came to fist the collar of his shirt.
Namjokn pulled him close, then shoved him against the wall.
"Stop it, hyung!" Jungkook wriggled in his hold, flailing his fist in his face. "I don't want to hurt you, hyung!"
Namjoon let out a loud belch in Jungkook's face.
Jungkook gagged, feeling pile rise up to his throat. His anger turned to rage, everything bothering and annoying in his life plus Namjoon's behavior, rounded into one big mood. Flinging his hand back, Jungkook sent it flying to Namjoon's face followed by another and another.
"I hate you, you fucking bastard! I hate you!!! You're so selfish and greedy and I hope you choke on your own vomit and die in your sleep!" He cried, still hitting Namjoon.
"Jungkook, sto-" Another belch in Jungkook's face.
"You pathetic asshole!" Jungkook kicked his shin, causing Namjoon to squirm and hold his leg in pain. "How dare you be this mean to your little brother?!"
"A-re you- are you crazy!?" Namjoon grabbed his leg flying to kick him.
Jungkook heaved and sobbed as he snatched his leg from Namjoon's hold. He glared at Namjoon before running past him.
"Jungkook! Where are you going to?"
Ignoring Namjoon, Jungkook continued to walk.
"He- Wooooooo...." Namjoon stumbled to the floor, trying to follow Jungkook. "Come back here!"
Namjoon's drunken voice faded as Jungkook walked out of the house, slamming the door behind.
His steps were heavy and angry, his face pulled into a scowl as tears poured. He wiped the tears, only for more to fall.
He was beyond mad at Namjoon. Why the hell would he be drunk!?
Expecting for someone to be your source of inspiration, your go-to, but turned out the person was just as weak as you were.
It was not Namjoon's fault that Jungkook was angry. He was angry because he had hoped Namjoon was strong enough and would be there for him if he ever summoned the courage to tell him everything he was going through. That Namjoon would be able to hold him down and comfort him.
It was painful that Namjoon was just as weak as he was. That Namjoon didn't possess all the qualities he wanted him to possess. That, afterall, Namjoon was not Superman.
In his thoughts and misery, Jungkook found himself outside of a party. He sighed to himself.
Jimin's party.
Why in the hell would his subconscious walking lead him to Jimin's house? Jimin was just as annoying and as irritating as everything around him.
Jungkook turned around to walk the opposite direction, just anywhere away from Jimin's house.
He needed to gather his thoughts. So, he began his walk to nowhere.
"Jungkook! Jungkook! Jungkook!" Someone called him ceremoniously.
Jungkook turned around to see someone waving at him from the corner of the backyard.
He squinted to get a better view of the person.
Yoongi? What was Yoongi doing in Jimin's party? Yoongi and Jimin hated each other... Because of him.
Waving back, Jungkook silently cussed himself at what he was about to do. He put his head down and walked over to Yoongi.
"Hey." Yoongi nodded at him, smiling excitedly.
"Hey, Yoongi. What are you doing here?" Jungkook asked.
"Um.." Yoongi chuckled lightly, shrugging. "I don't know. I was bored. You? Thought you weren't coming. I mean, thought I heard you say you wouldn't come when Kai had invited you."
Jungkook furrowed his brows at Yoongi. "Um, are you like a stalker?" The question was exactly what he was thinking because when Kai had asked him, he had not seen Yoongi around, except Yoongi had been creeping inbetween lockers or was in the thrash can since he could fit in one.
Yoongi sometimes gave off the vibe of a really creepy stalker.
"Um," Yoongi smiled, nodding. "You got me. I'm a stalker, Jungkook. Your personal stalker sent from below."
"Ha ha," Jungkook laughed unamused. It was possible Yoongi was saying the truth.
"Come in." Yoongi nodded towards the house, lip trapped in between hie teeth. "Let's go in. You need a drink. Have you been crying?" He furrowed his eyes at Jungkook.
"What? No! Plus I don't drink."
"Juice?"
"Oh, okay," Jungkook nodded.
The two headed into the house filled with teenage boys and girls dancing to the loud song playing and having fun. It was Friday after all. Hashtag turn up friday.
With what Jungkook was seeing, a lot of girls were likely to turn up pregnant. They were being disgusting in the name of dancing and grinding against very obvious boners.
He felt a grip on his hand and looked down, then trailed the hand back up.
"Don't get lost, okay?" Yoongi yelled over the loud music and turned to look at Jungkool briefly. "Stay with me."
Yoongi pulled Jungkook with him, clearing the path and soon they were in the kitchen which was, to Jungkook's surprise, not packed with teenagers drinking directly from cans of water and juice box. It was almost empty.
"Ah," Yoongi sighed, at the emptiness the room. "Much better."
Very much better, Jungkook thought, smiling to himself at the serenity.
"Apple or mango?" Yoongi weighed to cans at Jungkook.
"Whichever," Jungkook shrugged, looking around the room.
So many memories flashed through his eyes in a split second. But he didn't want to think about them. He couldn't. He was not trying to get Jimin back, so all the beautiful memories they had shared together in that house - that very kitchen- could not mean anything to him. Jungkook did not even want to as much as think about them.
"Yo!"
Jungkook looked up and found Yoongi holding out a can of Apple juice to him.
He took it. "Thanks," and held it in both of his hands. He didn't want to drink anything. He just needed a distraction.
"Wanna go upstairs?" Yoongi raised a brow.
Jungkook thought about 4 different things that were so wrong about that sentence, but surprised himself by nodding.
"Sure."
Yoongi's smile was exciting, like a hidden excitement.
What was he planning? Jungkook wished he had said no to Yoongi. How would he say no now? If he said no, he would sound naive and immature.
He followed Yoongi up the stairs, weaving through half-drunk, half-naked, half-pornstar teenagers.
These kids had no shame! Jungkook fixed his eyes to the floor as he walked passed. How was Yoongi able to look at these people?!
Yoongi walked ahead of him, opening and peeking into each room they walked past on the top floor, saying 'sorry' or 'my bad'and quickly shutting the door as they were occupied.
"They're all taken," Yoongi sighed, shaking his head. His hands had gone to rest on his hips as he looked around disappointedly.
Jungkook looked around too. He felt some sort of pity for Yoongi. He looked so sad, like all hope was lost. Jungkook knew all hope was not lost because his eyes had gone to rest on a particular room Yoongi had tried to open but it had not budged.
"Let's go down. Maybe we-"
"Follow me," He said and brushed past Yoongi.
Jungkook walked over to a picture frame, and stuck his hand behind it.
"Please be here. Please be here," He prayed. His heart lept in happiness when his hand touched the key.
He grabbed it and walked back to the door. Yoongi looked at him in awe when he stuck the key in the hole and opened the door.
"How did you know there was a key there?" Yoongi asked with a grin, shutting the door behind him.
Jungkook shrugged walking further into the all so familiar room.
He swivelled to face Yoongi, when his thoughts began to get annoying. Then went to sit on the bed. It smelt crazily and stupidly of Jimin. Of course it had to, it was his room.
Yoongi walked around, his hand grazed the shelf pf trophies. Then a big sigh left his mouth. Jungkook had not stopped watching him.
Yoongi turned to him, leaning against the shelf.
"Why were you crying?"
Jungkook was taken aback by the question. He thought he had dismissed the idea earlier, but apparently Yoongi had only chosen to ask later which was now.
"Nothing."
Yoongi nodded. "You don't wanna tell me?"
Jungkook looked away. His eyes falling on Jimin's tennisball by the side of the wall closet. He and Jimin had played catch with that ball so many times, he couldn't remember how many.
"You don't trust me," Yoongi stated. He didn't ask. It was like he was certain of it.
Jungkook bit his lips, he didn't know what to say. Yoongi had never given him a reason to not trust him.
"Do you still hate me, Jungkook?" Yoongi voice had risen. Not angry, more like realized. Shocked realization. "You know, I still have no idea why you broke up with me. I don't know sincerely."
Jungkook had dreaded that subject for a year now. He had avoided Yoongi and pushed him away just so he wouldn't have to answer that question.
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, crossing his arms over his chest with a raised brow. "I just want to know. Please."
Jungkook looked down. How would he answer a question he had not answer to?
"Did you hear rumors that I cheated on you? Did I say something wrong to you? Did you find out some kind of bad secret about me? I don't get. I haven't been able to wrap my head around this for a long time. Yet you hate my guts and my very existence in general."
"Iwouldntbeherewithyouthen."
"What?"
Jungkook raised his voice. "I said if I hated you I wouldn't be here with you."
"So..."
Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry."
"About what? All I ask-"
"Because you did nothing. You didn't do anything to me."
"I don't understand."
"The break up. It's not your fault, it's me."
Yoongi let out an unamused laugh. "Oh, really? 'it's not your fault, it's me?' It has gotten to that, Jungkook? This isn't-"
"Because I was scared." Jungkook peeked at Yoongi through his lashes to find Yoongi's mouth hanging from unspoken words.
"Scared?"
"I was scared that you would ask me for sex." He whispered the last part, hoping Yoongi didn't hear him but at the same time hoping he did.
"You were scared I would ask you for sex? That was why you broke up with me? Even when I didn't ask for it?"
Jungkook swallowed. He knew he had messed up with Yoongi.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi. But you wouldn't understand. I-" He paused, shutting his eyes in embarrassment. "I've never had sex before. Not because I don't want to, but because I'm... Because I'm terrified of it. The thought of it makes me feel like I'm hanging a 100 feet above the ground by a loose thread. It makes me really nervous and I panick. And that was why I broke up with you. Because I thought you would ask for it."
"So, you decided to break up with me before I did."
Jungkook nodded slowly.
Yoongi sighed. He didn't say anything, it made Jungkook nervous.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi. I'm very sorry. I had no idea you blamed yourself for it."
The room was silent, only the vibration and the distant song from the music system below could be heard.
"Say something. I know you're mad and disappointed at me. I'm a selfish person and I shouldn't have done what I did but please, say something. I know I've been pushing you away a lot and all, but it's because I felt guilty, okay? I felt wrong for doing what I did then and knowing I couldn't change it. I just don't want to hurt you now- I don't want to hurt anybody."
Yoongi just looked down at the floor. Jungkook couldn't see his face, to read his expression. He didn't plan to hurt Yoongi. His own heart was hurting, and he didn't want anyone to feel what he was feeling. It was too painful.
"I love you," Yoongi said. "I still love you and I want you back."
"Yoongi..." Jungkook's words disappeared. He was lost for words at what to say as he looked at Yoongi who slowly lifted his head to look at Jungkook. He looked scared yet hopeful.
"Now that I know I did nothing, I can say it right? That I never stopped loving you."
"But I hurt you."
"I haven't had sex either. I'm also kinda scared of it," Yoongi admitted. "So, you don't have to worry about me asking. Instead, I should worry. I mean you dated Taehyung and Jimin."
Jungkook wanted to say nothing happened with either of them and it was the reason that led to them breaking up, but Yoongi's confession rendered his dumbstruck.
"Say something." Yoongi pushed himself from the shelf and approached Jungkook. "I would never hurt you. I've always been by your side and always will be because my heart beats for you."
Jungkook's heart was doing a number inside him as he watched Yoongi come to kneel on one leg before him.
"Please, Jungkook. Give me another chance."
The whole scenario was wrong. Yoongi shouldn't be the one begging, asking for another chance. He had done nothing wrong. It should all be him, Jungkook. Doing the begging and asking for a second chance. But the thing was, Jungkook didn't love Yoongi.
His heart did not do the funny flip it always did whenever he was with a certain someone. His eyes did not roam to his lips, imagining how soft and sweet they would taste, and how perfectly they would fit his. He didn't get lost staring into his eyes. His body didn't yearn for Yoongi's hold; it didn't yearn for Yoongi to wrap his arm around his body and cuddle him against his own soft body while Jungkook listened to the beating of his heart.
"I love you, Jungkook. Can't you see it? What more do you want me to do, huh? Just tell me."
"Yoongi, I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry, huh?" Yoongi's hand rested on his thigh. "You didn't do anything wrong."
Jungkook searched for the mildest and easiest way to let Yoongi down. Yoongi's expression already made him want to cry.
"Yoongi, you're nice and really sweet and anyone would be luck to have you as a boyfriend."
"Then why aren't you saying yes to me?"
"Yoongi," He called. His hand went to rest ontop Yoongi's hand. "I think I love some-"
Yoongi's lips crashed against his own cutting him shut. Unmoving, Jungkook's eyes bulged, shocked. His hand went to push Yoongi away but Yoongi's hands held his down to his laps.
Jungkook's eyes moved to Yoongi's own, and he saw Yoongi's lashes, wet from tears.
A small whimper escaped Yoongi's throat, and Jungkook shut his own eyes tight and kissed back.
