Chapter 7

*Jay Pov*

"If I don't let her think, then how can we know anything?" Doctor Anee asked and I opened my eyes to see her sitting before Jhanvi holding her hand.

"Don't let her think the forbidden." I replied.

"Forbidden? What is forbidden?" Jhanvi asked ,staring at the doctor and me.

"You should have taken her to the doctor instead of here." Anne said.

"Do not worry because even if she bounce back, she will wake up again, but if I had not brought her here then I wouldn't be able to know any people who can take care of her. When I find them, then I can go to the place where I was going for." I pointed out.

"So, to release the burden you brought her here?" Anne asked frowning and I shrugged.

"And she is also not comfortable living in my house." I said to which Jhanvi glared at me.

"What was I doing in this man's house?" she asked giving disgust looks and I rolled my eyes feeling used to that while Anne looked shocked.

"What is your name?" the questions started and I frowned listening to the answers.

"You are a nurse? Where were you working?" another question got thrown.

"That is a nice hospital, then why did you leave?" to this question she stilled.

"You have to tell me, Ms. Jhanvi." she stressed.

"Because I was a fool to leave everything to go with a husband who was away with some work for about more than nine years." Jhanvi replied.

"Where is he now?" to this question she laughed without any humor.

"He must be enjoying in his palace with... with my failure." She replied and leaned back while doctor nodded as if she is going to enter the danger ground.

"Why do you have a bag with money?" I asked, knowing well I will have too many doubts if I don't have the answer.

"It is still with me? I don't want to see that bag ever again. Throw it away." She shouted and my eyes widened.

"Why?" Anne and I asked at a time.

"Will any mother take the money which she got by giving up her child or because she gave birth to a child?" she asked us back.

"I don't want to see that bag." She added, sobbing covering her face and I looked away to brush a tear away knowing well these words are too near than anyone can think for me.

"Is there anyone who can be called now to take care of you?" Anne asked, to which Jhanvi nodded when I stared at her.

"Who is it?" We both asked.

"Kalpana!" she replied and I groaned, knowing well I can't contact her as I was trying from the past few days.

"Anyone else?" I asked, hoping there is.

"No!" she replied, shaking her head.

"Now, tell me with your mind calmness. What happened to your son?" doctor asked and I too waited for the answer.

"Can he be sent out?" Jhanvi asked instead.

"He saved you, Ms.Jhanvi. And I always deal with patients when any one of their family or friends be with them when the case is critical." She replied.

"What?" Jhanvi asked and turned towards me with surprising eyes, but I gave a blank look.

"Fine! Like I said I left everything and went with my husband with my son. Everything was fine and... and he married me again. And he... he gave me a divorce." She replied.

"He kept your son back forcefully?" I asked with anger for that man, but to both our surprise she shook her head in negative.

"My son decided to stay back saying he doesn't want to stay with me anymore." She replied and filled the room with silence.

"How... how can he do that? He is not a teenager. He is just nine years and decided he can't come with me. Did I do anything wrong with my way of raising him up? Was I a bad mother? All these years I lived for him with every single minute of my life. But... but he didn't even want me. Did I hurt him? Was I not enough parent?" she continued to ask crying her heart out.

"Am I a bad mother?" she repeated it continuously and suddenly gasped for air before falling into deep sleep.

I rushed towards her before she can fall from the chair and held her shoulders. I stared at her tear strained, tired face feeling the pain of her loss.

"Now, I can understand your words. Of her coming into consciousness and losing it." The doctor finally talked and I glanced at her.

"Let her take a rest while I call for the doctor." She advised and I nodded lifting Jhanvi up and placed her on the couch.

"We are sorry for not trusting your words, Mr.Jay." the doctor said immediately when he walked inside the room.

"It is fine. But... I want to confess something else. I am not her husband." I said and immediately felt the atmosphere change.

He started blasting for ignoring the hospital rules and how everyone will be trouble while Anne tried to pacify him.

"That is not important here. I want to know what to do with her because the person she said she knows is not available right now. I have been trying for her." I said and they both stopped.

"She is having the mental breakdown because of the shock of what happened and she is very weak inside. Physically and mentally which needs too be changed. Like before, start bringing her here every two weeks and she may be completely conscious or not do not worry because she is having her own phase of thinking while being unconscious as far as I can understand." Anne said and I frowned.

"I have to bring her?" I asked frowning.

"Yes! We can't assign her with government scheme now because of your signature. So, you are her family right now otherwise we can't do anything for her." Doctor explained instead of her.

"Try to do the things which were bringing a stirring in her." Anne advised.

"Whenever I talked to her, she stirred." I mumbled.

"Your talking is helping?" She asked frowning.

"Maybe the irritation of listening to my voice is helping." I replied and she coughed hiding her laugh while I shook my head.

"I will give the food she has to take if she gets conscious of having food on her own and I will also give some medicines for physical strength at least to bear all this." Doctor said hiding his smile and did as he said, after which he left.

"Why is she angry with you?" Anne asked.

"I did something bad in the past." I replied vaguely and stood up.

"I can understand this is a burden for you." She added.

"No! To correct that bad this can be the good thing to do." I mumbled and listed Jhanvi in my arms.

"Thanks for everything." I said, knowing well what I did today is not at all professional but she understood and helped me.

"It's okay! This is nothing before the things I made my patients do all the time." She said, shrugging and I smiled before walking out ignoring her return smile.

I was silent while driving and returned to home to see the maid standing anxiously and sighed in relief looking at Jhanvi safe in my arms.

"I am not going to harm her." I said, rolling my eyes and walked inside the room before laying her on the bed.

"How did you bear all this?" I whispered, brushing her hair away from her forehead.

"I am sorry from that bastard side." I added.

Before I can turn, she mumbled, "I am a bad mother. I don't want that bag. I am a bad..." she continued making me hold her hand, after which she again became silent.

Now I need to dispose that bag, but what to do with that much money? I thought, frowning and then smiled after half and hour getting the solution.

"Your one tension or wish or I can even say pressure will reduce soon." I said staring at her thinking what I am going to do is right.
