Chapter 6
*Jay Pov*
"You should always stay with her if I am not in the house." I said to the maid looking at Jhanvi.
"Always?" she asked and I nodded without looking at her.
"Do not worry about the pay. I can hire a nurse, but I do not want another person in this house right now." I replied narrowing my eyes at the eyes of Jhanvi staring blankly.
"Should I also just keep on staring at her all the time, Sir?" I suddenly heard the curious question making me frown and I turned to see the maid frowning at me already.
"Of course not! She is not going to disappear in thin air." I replied shaking my head.
"I just thought that as you didn't look away from her as if searching for something." She mumbled.
"If she starts talking or anything immediately call me and... and do not talk to her about anything." I said and she nodded.
"And do not worry about missing the works of other houses. Before leaving the city I will recommend you to as many as I can." I added remembering her other work.
"Thank you, Sir." She said happily and I nodded, walking away from them to take rest for some time.
Sleeping in that chair was nothing but a hell and I don't understand how can they keep just a chair when the family has to stay with the patient.
I stilled my hands in the process of taking my clothes, realizing what I said. Family? From where am I her family? And from where do I have a family? Do I even deserve a family?
I threw my wife out of her house. Correction! I threw my pregnant wife out of the house who is my first love and my son hates me and whom I don't even know much about.
Do I really think I will have someone whom I can say as my family? No! That got lost with the last stupidity I did.
I shook my head and got inside the washroom to freshen up and walked to my bed before lying on it.
I wish that there is a chance of that family someday at least after some years. I just wish and immediately blocked the thoughts coming to the reality before drifting off into sleep.
"Damn it!" I shouted at the fallen rice on my leg before furiously removing it and took the food again with the food.
I moved it near her mouth saying, "Do not mind my shouting, okay? I am just vexed with my problems."
After feeding her the dinner with furious expression, I left the room to take away the bowl. I returned back to switch off the light, but somehow I couldn't do it.
Suddenly I was walking near to her and sat on the chair beside her before staring at her with a frown.
"I am really angry and I want to share the reason with someone, but as you can see that my house is not filled with too many people, I have decided to share it with you." I said folding my hands over my chest.
"Tell me one thing, I thought being a person with a good way of having relations is important for family, friendship or even to be a good human being. But is it anyway related to being a good businessman?" I asked her shouting.
"Those stupid board of members is having second thoughts to continue with my new company before of all this reason. I have a sound business plan and sound resources which are the ones needs and I even do business with ethics. Is it enough? No! They want to get themselves involved with my personal life too. Seriously? When did I go near each person's house and asked how is your wife doing today and how are you treating her? Is she the only person in your life or someone else is there?" I put out all my frustration with my speech and suddenly laughed.
"I know you must think what a mad guy. Until now he is shouting and now laughing. Well, I just imagined asking them all this in true sense." I explained to her as if she can hear me.
"It's been so many years since I was able to talk what I felt and I am both glad along with sad that you can't hear all this. Sad because you can't but gad because you wouldn't have even let me sit beside you. But Kalpana is lucky to get a friend like you." I said, smiling and stood up to walk near the door but stopped hearing a small groan.
I turned to see her stirring and she slowly blinked her eyes before she stared at me with a frown which immediately turned to anger.
She opened her mouth and looked around before looking back at me with panic and I rolled my eyes, but at the same time thinking what to say.
Bringing out her son's name is out of the question along with airport incident. So, what else should I ask her? I thought walking near to the bed and she pressed herself to the bed before trying to move away.
"I was in hospital." She stated when I contemplated regarding what to talk.
"You got discharged today morning." I stated back and she nodded.
"Is this your house?" she asked and looked like she is going to dread my answer.
"Yes!" I replied and she immediately sat up only to fall back.
"You were stiff all these days and there was no movement by yourself. You need to relax before moving." I explained when she gave me a panic look.
"I need to leave." She stated and I nodded to which she gave a relief look.
"Give me your husband address and I will leave you there or if you give me the phone number I will call him." I said and she stilled.
"I don't have a husband." She said with full force.
"Memory loss is part of the deal?" I asked, raising my eyebrow realizing she is going back to her memories which would get her back in shock or another breakdown.
"No!" she replied, tightening her jaw to stare at me with anger.
"I can see a necklace which I am sure worn by married women instead of it being a fashion statement." I said and she immediately placed her hand over her neck.
Suddenly she started shivering with fury and shouted, "He divorced me. He just divorced me."
And then suddenly pulled the necklace with full force that I stood up in shock hearing her words and the action. Before I can stop her, she broke it along with a big scratch on her side neck with blood oozing and I can imagine the same fate to the behind and the other side.
"Are you mad?" I shouted and rushed inside the washroom to collect all the needed first aid things and walked out.
I immediately realized my mistake as she went blank again. She must have thought about the memories. At least she didn't have a nervous breakdown.
"What am I going to do with you?" I asked, shaking my head and placed everything on the chair before sitting on the place beside her on the bed as she moved away fearing me a few minutes back.
I lifted her up and made her sit before thinking for a second and made her lean on me. I took out the cotton and cleaned the big wound before putting the pressure to stop the blood.
When it seemed to stop, I did the bandage before making her lay back and held her hand.
"Divorced?" I mumbled frowning and opened her fist to remove the chain.
I cleaned her hand and bandaged it before standing up to keep the things inside the washroom. After everything is done, I left the room still lost in my thoughts.
She is furious, but there was also pain. I know it too well because that's what I saw in Kalpyani's eyes and my own when I stood before the mirror during my accusing of her and divorce.
I was too proud to show it to anyone but couldn't hide it from myself. I laid down back on the bed thinking what should I do next time she wakes up.
All my thinkings seem to have gone to waste as the whole week I waited, she didn't move even a little but at least her wound got healed.
"I will prepare lunch, Sir." The maid said one day when I sat working on my laptop in the living room.
"She is sleeping or just with open eyes?" I asked her.
"I just gave her a bath and she is sleeping." I nodded to her reply and closed the system before deciding to leave for the office for some time today now only and not after lunch.
Before that I walked in her room, to greet her about my leaving which became a habit from the time she came here.
"I will be back within a few hours. Bye and take care." I said, opening the door not even looking inside, but then the movement caught my sight.
"What are you still doing here and what am I still doing in your house?" she shouted while I stared at her in shock before doing only one thing I can think of.
I removed my kerchief and rushed near her before pushing it inside her mouth and then removed my tie before tying her hands while she stared at me with wide eyes.
"Be angry with me and think of the ways to kill me, but be angry with me and only think of that." I ordered and lifted her into my arms before throwing her on my shoulder while rushing out.
She immediately started pounding on my back with her screams getting muffled by the kerchief I pushed inside her mouth.
"Sir?" maid shouted with shock covering her face.
"Wait in the house." I ordered her and rushed outside before unlocking my car.
I opened my passenger door and threw her inside before locking the car and rushed to the driver seat before unlocking and getting inside.
"Are you thinking to kill me?" I asked shouting at her.
She fumed breathing heaving and gave me a look as if she can't think anything else than that which I need.
I drove like a mad man and reached the destination before getting out of the car. I took her out again throwing her on my shoulder and rushed inside, ignoring the shouts from everyone and opened the door without knocking to see two people turning towards me with wide eyes.
"Urgent!" that's all I said and gestured the man to go out, which he did seeing my expression and I dumped her on the chair.
"How dare you? How can you treat her like that? I will not stay back and let you treat her like that." The woman said coming out of her shock and rushing near to her.
I placed my hands over Jhanvi's ear and said, "She is losing her conscious whenever I bring her son or give her time to think about the past. So, tread carefully before her."
Before the psychologist can say anything, I removed the kerchief and immediately heard Jahnvi screaming, making the doctor root in her place.
I removed the necktie and immediately felt her lashing as she started hitting me with her weak hands with no energy in them.
"I am sorry!" I mumbled to which she stilled with confusion but continued.
"Doctor! Shall we call police?" the receptionist and many asked, walking inside, making the doctor come out of her shock.
"No! No! He is her husband and this is all part of the treatment." She said and they nodded leaving.
"Husband?" Jhanvi asked, stopping her beatings and again started shouting that I am lying.
"I know he is not your husband." Doctor said and then she calmed down before leaning back in the chair.
"Don't let her think." I warned her before walking to the couch and fell on it suddenly tired by myself, but I am glad I immediately thought to do this.
Now all is in the hands of the doctor. I thought, feeling some burden leave and closed my eyes, leaning back with a smile.
