*Jay Pov*

"When did they come and how?" I asked her still staring at two people staring at us back with shock covering their features and I saw a slight moment.

I glanced to Kalpana's side to see Sudhir waking up from his sleep before looking around only to see his eyes widen and he immediately hid his face holding Kalpana.

"Oh god!" I mumbled realizing I brought it upon myself and held Jhanvi more tightly.

"They saw me at the hospital and they literally dragged me or I can say made me come here. I thought you would be late today." She replied in an accusing tone.

"It finished soon! You should have called me." I mumbled back.

"Well, from where do you think I should? I didn't get time." She whispered and pinched my hand, which is around her waist.

"Jhanvi! What is going on here?" Kalpana is the one who brought an end to our whispers and sound to the silence around us.

"How are you, Kalpana?" I asked her clearing my throat and she nodded.

"I am fine! But what is going on around here, Jay? Why is Jhanvi with you? Andﾅ urgh! Why are you kissing her?" she finally asked and Jhanvi cleared her throat before turning around in my hold to face them.

"Kalpanaﾅ" she trailed off not knowing what to say.

Hell! Even I don't know where to start. But again a thought entered my head out of nowhere. Why should we say anything to them? However, I can understand how close these both were and it is best if everything gets clear and she can meet Kalpana whenever she wishes to.

"Tell us, Jhanvi!" Manohar asked in a raised tone and I immediately glared at him.

"Don't shout at her and don't raise your voice before a kid." I said in a warning tone making them both stare at me in shock.

"Look, why don't you send Sudhir to Lakshmi's room and then we can talk?" I added but Manohar's expression turned worse.

"Please!" Jhanvi pleaded and he nodded before taking Sudhir's hand.

"I will keep him there and come." He said looking at Kalpana and left, but not before giving me a warning look.

"Now, tell us!" Kalpana said when he returned and Jhanvi gestured them to sit back on the couch.

"It's okay!" I whispered, moving a hand from her waist to hold her hand and squeezed it.

I glanced up to see Kalpana following the action while Mnaohar was too angry to notice anything. She just stared at both of us.

"I left with Ali like, you know, but everything turned upside down." Jhanvi started and explained everything that happened there still standing in my hold.

"Oh Jhanvi!" Kalpana mumbled with a sad look and brushed her tears away.

"That's all I remember, but I kept on waking up only to see Jay with me all the time. But then finally woke up completely with the help of that little girl I introduced as my daughter. And then the major was because of this guy. We both got married to get me accepted as a proper adoptive parent. Recently we got complete clearance too. Andﾅ and like I said he is my husband." Jhanvi explained and I pressed a kiss to her head.

"Why haven't you notified us? And from where did you got her?" Kalpana asked frowning at me.

"I was about to leave the city and found her at the airport." I replied and she frowned more.

"Why haven't you notified us?" she asked and I sighed.

"I called you and your husband lifted it before warning me." I replied and she immediately glanced at Manohar before sighing.

"Well, you could have contacted my family in the other city. You know the address and you stayed there." Kalpana said frowning at me.

"Family?" Jhanvi asked, frowning.

"Yes, Jhanvi! After you left, I found out I have a family. I mean my mother's brother and a cousin. And she has a great in-laws and great family from her husband side. You would love them." Kalpana replied smiling.

"I am so happy for you." Jhanvi said smiling back.

"So, why didn't you?" Kalpana asked and I sighed.

"You know the reason. If he doesn't want me to talk, then I don't know what they will say if I reach there." I replied and felt Jhanvi's confused gaze.

"And did you say that Lakshmi was adopted by you both?" Kalpana asked with a frown and I narrowed my eyes at her.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, frowning at her.

"Don't take that voice with her and you don't deserve to stand there." Manohar replied fisting his hands.

"Look, I don't have any reason to explain anything to both of you. But for Jhanvi you are important, Kalpana. Now, she explained everything." I said, frowning at both of them.

"Is there any other reason for this marriage and adoption?" Kalpana asked and we both stilled making her narrowed stare fall on us.

"Yes! But not the reason you have on your mind. In the beginning, we had a type of contract but not anymore." I replied vaguely.

"And I am sure you already got Sudhir adopted by Manohar." I added but she shook her head.

"No, it is under the process." She mumbled and I sighed.

"Look, I don't care about all these properties and anything." I said in a serious tone.

"Really? And you think we are mad? Do you think we will sit back for you to ruin her life?" Manohar asked, taking a step but Kalpana stopped her.

"Everyone is not like you, Manohar." I replied letting the anger take its turn and seems like I hit the raw note.

"Shut up!" Kalpana said and turned to stare at Manohar.

"Don't think back." She warned him, but he just closed his eyes.

"But I am sure it is not like something you did." He taunted back and I stiffened.

"What? What are you three talking about?" Jhanvi asked looking at them both and then lifted her head to glance at me.

"Kalpana! You were behind me to know everything and I am sure you can understand my situation now. You three are talking about something about which I don't have any idea." She said looking at Kalpana and she sighed.

"Fine! You were always right, Jhanvi. I really got a chance to promotion or promotion whenever Sudhir achieved something. Because, Manohar did all that wontedly. They both are half-brothers." She said and waited for Jhanvi to react.

"I know about that story." Jhanvi said and Kalpana gave a surprised look.

"Everything?" she asked, but stared at me and I nodded.

"Anyway, he took care of everything in my life from beginning because he wanted to revenge on Jay's mother by adopting Sudhir and take away all the property." Kalpana explained.

"What?" Jhanvi whispered while Manohar closed his eyes with Kalpana holding his hand tightly.

"Yes! But then he fell in love with me and everything changed in his plan. He genuinely loves Sudhir and me. He regrets it with his every breath and he is still beating himself about it." Kalpana defended him.

"Isﾅ is no oneﾅ no one knows to do something directly?" Jhanvi asked shaking her head.

"Please, Jhanvi!" Manohar said, opening his eyes.

"I supported you and helped you thinking you genuinely care for her. I did everything to keep Jay away, but you have this motive." Jhanvi said, turning around before burying her face on my chest and I brought both my hands around her.

"Don't be upset." I whispered and she immediately moved her head to stare at me.

"I am not upset, Jay. I am just angry that she had to go through that too." She whispered back.

"They both are happy and she is fine with it. So, let it go." I whispered and she slowly nodded with a smile.

"Please, don't be upset with Manohar. These both did something and they repented. I can see you forgiving Jay for Kidnapping Sudhir and me too. So, just let it all go." We heard Kalpana's voice and the smile slipped from her face while I glanced up to stare at Kalpana's smile meeting it with my anger.

"Kalpana!" I whispered and closed my eyes, knowing well this is not good.

"You said you told her everything." She mumbled in shocked tone and I opened my eyes to see Kalpana's face going pale.

"I told her about my past which I told you, but not this." I mumbled and felt Jhanvi trying to get her released from me but I tightened my hold.

"Leave me, Jay." She whispered, but I shook my head still staring at Kalpana's face which is showing guilt now.

"No!" I whispered, but she still struggled.

"Go and bring Sudhir." Kalpana said to Manohar and he immediately did but frowned at her.

"We will leave, but I am writing my address and phone number here. Please meet me, Jhanvi! If possible, let go of the past, it will not do any help." Kalpana said and then walked to us holding Sudhir's hand before they three walked out.

"I said leave me, Jay." Jhanvi said and pushed me completely away before covering her face.

"Jhanvi!" I said, moving near to her, but she moved away removing her hands.

"Don't come near me!" she said in a blank tone before rushing inside her room and locked it.

God! Why? Why now? Will there be no chance for my past to not knock down my present? I asked, looking up and closed my eyes feeling lost.

*Kalpana Pov*

"Why are you looking so guilty?" Manohar asked, sitting beside me while I sat in silence on our bed after Sudhir slept off.

"I shouldn't have said that." I replied in a low voice.

"He too brought out the past." He pointed out.

"It's not like you are her husband to hide your mistakes. You both were friends and it will be fine soon. But, now they both will be hurt." I mumbled closing my eyes.

"Why would he be hurt?" he asked in a confused tone.

"Sometimes, you are too stupid. Can't you see he cares for her?" I asked opening my eyes.

"But still he will hurt her. Didn't he hurt you? I still can never forget him kidnapping you." He replied and immediately pulled me in his arms.

"I was scared." He added and I rubbed his arms in assurance.

"I don't think he will hurt her. I am surprised after going through so much, he gave a chance for a relation." I said and he immediately moved back frowning.

"Fine! When he can say it to his partner, then I can too." I added and told him everything Jay said.

"He was adopted?" he asked in a shocked tone.

"Yes! Not only you both, but he too got worse behavior from her. However, what she showed for Aunty and you is direct but he was affected more. So, I let him go without getting him arrested. I wish you would let go of everything." I explained and he sighed.

"I will try to." He said and I nodded.

"But what about Jhanvi?" he asked and I sighed leaning on him.

"She will be fine if she can let go of it." I replied and he turned my face to stare at me.

"I was sad while keeping you far, even when I was angry at you. However, I am not sure about their relationship. I will just hope it is for all right reasons and if not, then I hope none of them can get hurt." I added moving a little and laid on the bed.

He too laid beside me and pulled me in his arms before drifting off into sleep still holding me, but I just couldn't feeling myself lost in my thoughts about everything.
