Background: He was just like everyone else. A regular guy just going to school. One day a student became mentally unstable and threatened to blow up the school. Cal was the first to be a hero. In their fight, the student threw a new chemical at Cal and kicked him towards a electrical box. Cal managed to beat him and help everyone escape from a fire that the student caused. Cal was then trapped and jumped out a window with his left arm on fire and his right eye slashed. Cal woke up in a hospital and had bandages all over him. His left arm was gone and replaced with a prosthetic limb. He then found out later that he had powers. He promised to become a true hero in the eyes of others.
