Chapter 10

Anakin had just returned to the Halls of Healing after he and Obi-Wan talked with the Council. They were not on board with allowing Ahsoka to use the Halls of Healing, but after talking it over with Anakin and Obi-Wan, they reluctantly agreed to allow it.

I mean it's the least they can do, Anakin thought, Ahsoka gave 15 years of her life to the Order, and they cast her aside. They're the reason why she's no longer with us, no longer with me.

Anakin pushed the thoughts out of his mind when he entered the Halls of Healing. He made his way to the room where Ahsoka was being kept. Upon entering, he saw Lux was sitting in the same position he had been when Anakin left. He was in a chair to the left of Ahsoka's bed, holding onto her hand and never straying his eyes from her. He looked exhausted. Anakin knew he hadn't slept since Ahsoka had been brought here, which was just over a day ago.

"Hello Senator Bonteri," Anakin said. This caused Lux to jump. He was so focused on Ahsoka that he hadn't noticed Anakin walking in and sitting at the chair at the foot of Ahsoka's bed.

"Oh hey Master Skywalker," Lux replied, his eyes still not moving from Ahsoka.

Anakin sighed. "Lux you need some rest. You haven't slept in over a day."

"I'm not leaving her," Lux snapped back.

Anakin was taken aback by this sudden outburst. Lux had always been fairly levelheaded, but Anakin knew he would probably be the same way if Padme was in a coma. He walked up to the young senator and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Lux," he said calmly, "there are two ways this will end for you: 1. you will fall asleep in that horribly uncomfortable chair, and awake with back, neck, shoulder, etc. pain, or, 2. you go sleep in my room, on my bed, and you're more awake and aware for when Ahsoka waked up."

Lux sighed. He knew Anakin was right, but he wanted to be here when Ahsoka woke up. "But what if she wakes up and needs me?"

"Lux, trust me. She means the world to me too, she's like the little sister I never had. When she wakes up I'll be able to handle it, and I'll send for you as soon as she does, okay?"

"Okay... I'll go get some rest."

"Smart boy," Anakin said with a wink. "My room is on the fourth floor, room 415-M."

"What's the 'M' for?" Lux asked curiously.

Anakin winced a bit. "It stands for 'Master'. When a Jedi gets a padawan, they move into conjoining rooms. The one with the M is for, well, the master. While the one with a P, I'm sure you can figure that out. I've stayed in the room because I can't bring myself to leave."

"Oh..." was all Lux managed to say. He knew why Anakin didn't want to leave the room, but said nothing.

"Well, thank you Master Skywalker."

Anakin just nodded as Lux left the room.

Ahsoka awoke in the dark, again.

"Oh great, another nightmarish vision" she muttered.

"No child," an angelic voice spoke.

Ahsoka looked around for the source, but couldn't find anything or anyone. Suddenly there was a bright light, and a figure manifested. Standing before Ahsoka was a female with pale skin and long, flowing green hair. She wore cream colored dress that went down to the ground, and had a cape attached to the arms and back. Ahsoka immediately recognized the figure as the Daughter from Mortis.

"Daughter," Ahsoka gasped, "what are you doing here?"

"I have come to tell you some things little Ahsoka."

"But you're dead. How are you in my mind?"

The Daughter sighed. "Ahsoka, there's some things you should know about what happened on Mortis."

"What do you mean? I know what happened. Your father wanted Anakin to take his place, the Son wanted to turn Anakin to the dark side, the Son killed you, Anakin killed the Son, and then we left." Ahsoka said recalling the events of their time on the mysterious planet.

"Everything you said is true child," the Daughter started, "but there are things that you do not know, or remember I suppose. Do you remember when my brother  captured you?"

Ahsoka nodded. "I remember being held in a prison, and then blacking out. When I woke, I was outside and you were dead."

"Yes, but between then, my brother possessed you with the dark side, attempting to make your master join him to save you. Your master did not oblige, and you attacked him. You two had a heated battle, then Obi-Wan joined in. You stole the dagger that could kill my brother from Obi-Wan, and gave it to him. You had 'fulfilled' your purpose ad he said, and he killed you."

Ahsoka gasped. She never knew that happened, and she wondered why Obi-Wan and Anakin kept it from her.

"After he killed you, my brother attempted to strike down our father with the dagger, but I jumped in front of him and he killed me instead. Full of grief, he left. My dying wish was to give the rest of my life energy to you, so that you may live.

"When my life force was transferred to you, I became a part of you in a way. You have my powers to an extent, and I will always be with you."

Ahsoka was stunned. She didn't know that any of that had happened. "But, if I have your powers, how come I haven't felt any different? I don't have any new powers or anything."

"But you do Ahsoka. You have my powers deep down inside of you, you just haven't unlocked them yet. You haven't had a need to use them yet, but you will soon."

"But how will I unlock them and use them, and now that I'm not part of the Order, what use will I have for them?" Ahsoka asked curiously.

"That is what I'm here to tell you child," the Daughter said softly. "There is a darkness that has begun to descend over the galaxy. The Jedi and Senate are oblivious to this fact. Soon the Jedi will be killed, and the Senate and Republic destroyed. And you, child, will be left with a choice. You can run away and hide with your beloved, and live the rest of your lives together, or you can stand up to this darkness, and help to restore order to the galaxy."

Ahsoka knew what she would choose. She couldn't just turn her back on everyone. She opened her mouth to say this, when the Daughter stopped her.

"You do not have to give your answer now, but when the time comes, you must make your choice. Take time to think about it, for your decision will change your life forever."

"How will I know when the time comes?" Ahsoka asked quizzically.

"You will now child," the Daughter answered. "Now, it is time that I send you back to your world."

"Will I ever see you again?"

"Yes little Ahsoka. We will meet again some day," the Daughter said as she faded away.

The darkness around Ahsoka began to fade, as a bright white light replaced it.
