Sylph's POV
Three. . .
Two. . .
One. . .
The bell rang signaling the end of the school day. Everyone rushed to pack up their things and return to their homes but I, of course, am in no rush to do that.
By the time I had packed up everything, everyone was long gone. Though there were a few people here and there.
As I shuffled out of class, my mind traveled back to Armin. His whereabouts are a mystery to me, but I suspect he would be at home right now.
I sighed.

A few blocks away from my house was a library. I haven't been to one in quite a while, which is why I found myself walking towards it. Just as I was about to climb the stairs, Armin walked right past me. We both turned around once we noticed each other.
"Armin!" I greeted in a somewhat happy voice as I walked up to him. Armin simply gave a shy wave as a reply.
"I didn't know you came to this library." Armin said. I simply shrugged as reply.
"So why were you here?"
"I work here." He replied. I blinked, confused by his answer.
"You're a librarian?" I asked to which Armin laughed. I blinked again, utterly confused as to why on earth he was laughing. When Armin saw my expression, he cleared his throat and started talking again
"I'm a library assistant."
I nodded slowly as a reply. After that, we stood in awkward silence for a while before I spoke up.
"I should get going."
"I-I can take you home!" Armin offered just as I turned to leave, I faced him again and outstretched my hand. He stood still for a while before realizing why my hand was out and grabbed it.
Both our cheeks turned red when our palms came in contact but neither of us retracted our hands.
"What a cute couple." An old woman from behind us said to her husband. The man nodded and said
"I remember when we were like that."
I looked at Armin and by his expression, I could tell he heard every last word of what they said. Of course, I was just as bad.
Old people are merciless.
"W-we're not a couple." I said, turning to face them.
A look of dismay grew across their faces when I said that "But I think you two would be good for each other!" The old woman whined, Armin and I sweat-dropped.
She reminds me of Sasha.
Her husband looked like he wanted to say something similar to what his wife had said but kept his mouth shut, probably because he didn't want to look stupid in front of high schoolers. "I think you've embarrassed them, Lisa, they look just like tomatoes." He said
The old woman, Lisa, nodded, still quite disappointed that Armin and I aren't a thing. The four of us walked in silence for s few moments then Lisa and her husband crossed the street, leaving Armin and I to endure yet another session of awkward silence.
Soon enough we reached my house and Armin slowly retracted his hand, if I didn't know any better, I'd say he didn't want to let go.
Bit I do know better.
"So. . . . .bye?" My statement sounded more like a question than anything else.
"Um, yeah." Armin replied, scratching the back of his head.
I walked closer to Armin and placed a very light kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for walking me home." I said before going inside.
I looked out the window but Armin was still standing at the porch, unbelievably red and dumbfounded.
I smiled.
