I groggily walk into the store I work at. Around me I am surrounded by thousands of flowers and plants. I walk up the normal aisle through the many plants until I reach the back room of the shop. I grab my apron and put my hair up in a messy bun. 

As I am about to walk out of the room to start my shift, my coworker, Jenny, stops right in front of me with a horrifically cheerful grin on her face. "Good morning Dawn!" she says in her sickly sweet voice. 

I cringe slightly and give her a half wave back and a small nod. "Jenny," I say as a greeting. I look down at her necklace and my eyes widen as I notice it in it's full form. "Has your necklace always looked like that?" I ask and gesture to the piece of jewelry. 

Although I thought it would've been impossible, her grin grows even wider. "I just recently found my mate!" she cheers, making me cringe slightly at her tone. "I was sitting on a bench in the park holding some of the lilies that were about to be thrown out of the shop yesterday. I took a sniff and a boy appeared in front of me. He startled me by saying, 'Lilies are my favorite.' He had frightened me so I accidentally dropped my flowers. He swiftly swept them up before they hit the ground and took a sniff. 'They smell beautiful. Almost as beautiful as you.' I blushed and thanked him as he handed me back the flowers. I invited him to have a seat next to me because he was being so kind to me. 

"'What's you're name?' I had asked him.

"'Daniel, although you can call me Danny,' he answered. He grinned widely and his eyes turned downcast. His eyes suddenly go big and he grins wider. He looked as though he were staring at my chest and I narrowed my eyes at him. I then slapped him with the lilies right in the face and he shrieked. 'What was that for?' he said defensively.

"I just looked at him and glared. 'You don't stare at a woman's chest if she is kind to you,' was all I said. He just stood there with a confused look on his face before he realized. 

"'Oh no, I would never do a thing like that. I was just admiring your necklace,' he said and I instinctively looked down at the jewelry. 'I would say the edge looks slightly like mine,' he said with a grin plastered across his face once again. 

"'Perhaps..." I started and took off my necklace I've had since I was a baby. He did the same and we examined all the sides as if it were a puzzle. As if it were destiny, two of the sides lined up! I just stared at the necklace in awe and looked back up at Danny. 'I'm Jenny,' was what I said.

"He grinned and held out his hand for a handshake. 'I've been waiting for you for a long time,' he had replied." Jenny rubbed her hands together and almost seemed to shake from excitement. "since that day, my necklace became whole and so did his. I found my mate!" she said in a very high pitched voice.

I looked at her with a blank expression before attempting to give her the best fake smile I could offer. "That's great," I said in a small voice. 

Jenny was about to say something but her watch just beeped then. "Well, it's time to work! Let's do our best to sell as many plants in this nursery as possible!" she turned enthusiastically on one heel and skipped out of the room. 

I rolled my eyes and walked out with slumped shoulders. I put on my gardening gloves and started to tend to the plants. I was trying so hard to concentrate on my work, but the only thing my mind could focus on was the half heart shaped necklace I always carried around my neck.
