Nightshade is one of the characters in The Mage Prophecy. She's kind of irritable and disbelieving of a lot of things (not including magic which she can use for herself).

She has an enormous amount of power, more than any elf older than her, and needs to occasionally randomly blast things to blow off the excess magic. If she doesn't use this pent up energy, she will literally explode from holding too much power.

She is one of the very few who has two dragons, an older seastride named Arnica, and a little (still growing) blackfury named Chinka.

She's very formal when she's facing someone of a higher rank that she doesn't know very well. If she knows the person she doesn't care if they're a higher rank or not. She's a shapeshifter, keeping some aspects of a dragon when she's in her elf form. She keeps the slit pupils of the dragon eyes and the scales, giving her skin a shiny appearance.

She thinks capes are stupid, especially Magefalcon's dark red one, but figures it's the person's fault if the cape is used against them.

Her main weapon of choice is a bow and if she's anywhere in the forest she can ask the trees to pull her from place to place. But, since she's different, the trees will frequently put her with her back to whatever she needs to be facing head on. She learned this the second or third time she got an arrow or sword in one of her shoulders.
