This is what I think happened with what you didn't see of Cal. I'm not using his name because I'm weird that way. Mysterious is my favorite. ;)

Taalina (and anyone who hasn't watched the movie yet) don't read until you've seen the movie. I'm warning you now. Don't blame me if you continue and have things spoiled.

   The assassin stood in the flashing light caused by the alarms. He readjusted his hood and looked down at the leader of Abstergo, Allen. He snorted in an annoyed kind of way and knelt, plucking the Apple of Eden out of Allen's hand in one swift movement.

   He held it up to his face and studied it carefully. "Don't look like much do you?" he whispered.

   He pushed the Apple into his pocket and pulled out the fruit he'd carried along. He put the fruit into Allen's hand and chuckled at his own joke. He'd give them an apple, just not the one they wanted.

   He looked up at the flashing light again. He glanced toward the door, where one woman was pushing through the crowd. Time to go. He darted out of the light when it next flickered off and left Sophia to fight the crowds.

   The assassin blended into the crowds that were leaving and walked quickly into an alleyway. He climbed up the side of a building and ran across the rooftops toward the river. He stopped on a pyramid type top of a tower.

   Two other assassins climbed up after him, the woman slightly behind and to the left, the man slightly behind and to the right. A hawk flew around them and shrieked.

   The leader looked up at the hawk and the wind tugged at his hood. A flickering image of an ancient assassin appeared at his side. Brown robes with intricate beaded designs on the front with long coattails. A ribbon of tattoos ran vertical over the right side of his face.

   The image looked at the leader and nodded slightly. The leader nodded back and took a leaping step forward, the two other's behind him. As one each right foot touched the edge of the roof and they all leaped in perfect synchronization spreading their arms and diving into the river.

   The image stayed on the rooftop. A small smile on his face, and a look of unsuppressed pride. He watched the three disappear into the water. He looked up at the hawk, and the next gust of wind blew him away.

   The hawk shrieked once again and flew toward the place where the Templars had met. It landed on the top of the red Templar cross and looked down at the Templars hurrying in all directions. Only one didn't move, the same woman that had been running into the room rather than out. She stood still, looking at the sky in brooding silence.
