Okay.... um, no!

And again with the reasons why this is a terrible ship:

The age difference - I've mentioned before that I don't like the age difference, and while age difference matters less as people age, I still don't ship anything with an age difference of more than 15 years, and definitely not when one of the parties is a minor/close to a minor. It's a major squick (do people still use that term?) for me. Also, Snape knew Harry as a kid, not entirely as a mature adult... this has Unfortunate Implications (read: child grooming).

Snape was in romantic love with Lily; whether you want to say that it's true love or obsession (I lean towards the latter; I think as they grew further apart, he turned her memory into a shrine), it's undeniable in the text. Even other elements of Snape's backstory that don't have to do entirely with Lily - his becoming a Death Eater, his dealing with an abusive home - relate back to his relationship with her, to some degree. I would never date someone that was in love with my mom for most of their life.

Snape was an asshole (I don't want to use the word 'abusive,' but if the shoe fits...) to Harry from day one (reminder that this is an 11-year-old kid), and abused his position not only over Harry but over Harry's friends - in multiple instances. Snape's an adult; he should know better, and an explanation for one's behaviour is not an excuse. It's not just a teacher/student relationship, it's a teacher/student relationship wherein the teacher is downright malicious to the student, who can't do much about it. There are cases where both sides of a relationship have a power imbalance (see: BBC Merlin's Merlin/Arthur, though that's debatable). I don't find power imbalance interesting when one party is so clearly in power over the other.

Even with the time travel aspect, Snape's still in league with the Death Eaters in his school days. He shared their beliefs. Even Lily got tired of his shit. Also, at that point in Snape's life, even ignoring his intense romantic feelings towards Lily, I don't think he'd date anything that resembled James Potter.

Harry and Snape mutually dislike each other. Had Snape lived, I could see their relationship may be becoming something of grudging mutual respect, but there's too much baggage for them to become friends - on both ends (this is way more compelling to me than a romance). When I ship something romantically, I want at least a hint in the text that they could become friends, some semblance of positive interaction - romance without friendship is overdramatic and annoying to read/watch, if the author's intent is to make me believe that these two characters should end up together. I've seen the term 'hate sex' brought up with Snape/Harry, and I'm not a fan. When I hate someone, I want them to get the fuck away from me, and when Harry hates someone, he's not attracted to them; he wants to fight them [unromantically].

Can I just ask...why!? What in your (possibly) sane mind makes you think it's appropriate to ship this!! It's so gross and wrong on all sorts of levels! I don't think there's a possible situation where I would actually ship them together. Honestly, I'm just sitting here, shaking my head. People need better pastimes than to come up with these things. You could argue that I'm just wasting my time by writing about it, but yep, I sure am!

Let's just state the obvious reasons why I don't ship it:

1. It's illegal 

2. Harry hated Snape for most of the time he knew him.

3. Snape hated Harry for all the time he knew him.

4. ITS FREAKING ILLEGAL, PEOPLE!!!

5. *shudder, snarry, ndoxbidjmdjqoxnjd.

6. There are quite a few more reasons mainly revolving around Snape becoming a pedophile for this to happen, but I won't go there

Guys, I Siriusly don't know what to do about these ships anymore. They're just so disturbing. I sure do hope people don't actually ship this or at least this isn't anyone's OTP. If you or a loved one does ship Snarry...stop it, get some help. Sorry, had to do that! What I really meant was tell me in the comments, so I can better understand what it feels like to be bloody mental! Okay, just kidding! Don't sue me or anything!
