Alright, who the bloody hell came up with this literal crap I'm stepping on?

Snamione is about an abusive teacher that was obsessed with the Dark Arts but who ultimately sacrificed so much to see them stop, and a bossy book-worm who, despite being cruel and ignorant, is a very determined and generally kind person.

I hate this. Mostly because I find it hard to just ignore an age gap between Hermione and Snape. He could, quite literally, be her father. If you ignore that fact it teeters on the edge of grooming and Pedophilia because he's known her since she was 11. They aren't fit for each other at all. In fact, the only real similarity they have is intelligence. The two are like oil and water. 

The only person he EVER loved was Lily, and even they didn't have much in common. He was special to Lily because he was there when she found out that she was a witch. He helped explain their world. Let her know what she could expect. A natural friendship bloomed despite their differences. You don't pine for someone nearly your whole life just to forget all of that for a person you have nothing in common with. Are no emotional ties or connections other than intelligence? It's the foundation for a weak relationship.

Snape calling out Hermione for being a 'know-it-all' when all she wants to do is answer a question he as a teacher asked is not endearing. Nor is Snape seeing Hermione's teeth growing past her collarbone due to a spell a student in his house hit her with and remarking that she looks exactly the same. Then, of course, there's docking her house because she felt the need to help another classmate who was having trouble with an assignment, but then again Snape was really looking forward to watching Neville's toad get poisoned, so should we excuse that (we shouldn't)?

Yeah, sure. All of that just screams that Snape is in love with Hermione and will do anything for her. *eye-roll*

The only thing that Hermione and Snape share in common is that they like to know things and are (at least on the surface) more academically focused than others.
