No no no no no no no no. This ship makes me cringe! I could never see them together! They are more like brothers to me and them being together would just be wrong. I don't normally ship best friends together, and that's also why I don't ship Harmione. I feel like best friends have a special friend connection and they should just stay as friends. A relationship could ruin any good friendship and I'd hate to see that happen to Harry and Ron.

Here are a few reasons to... ahem... ship them though I don't.

Ron Weasley is an integral part of Harry's life– there's a reason why he was picked for the second part of the Tri-wizard Tournament. Ron is a source of joy in Harry's otherwise bleak and terrifying world. He's constantly trying to battle Voldemort, solve the next mystery, etc. Hermione doesn't know how to balance that out with fun the same way that Ron can. I think there's a line that goes, 'Being best friends with Hermione included a lot less laughter and a lot more studying.' (Or something like that).

Being best friends with the Chosen One isn't always easy and Ron was in constant danger, but that never bothered him. They've been friends since Day 1 of Hogwarts, with minimal issues. Ron and Harry had their fight in Book 4, but that only lasted a month. I think this shows that their relationship has a fairly strong foundation.

Now I'm not saying that Ron is the BEST choice for Harry (or vice versa) but I can certainly argue that they'd make a fine romantic couple.

I don't see any romantic chemistry myself, but the two of them are good friends and there's real affection between them, so I suppose a good storyteller could make the pairing work.
