it's a popular disbelief that a kid has a great pain tolerance from some broken bones and //VOCAL// bullying.
spoiler alert again- it's actually not, people are just stupid in this fandom.

to have a high pain tolerance, it's either about your hormones (being afab basically), adrenaline or trauma.
your cells will adjust to past trauma so that the same won't effect you as much, basically, if you break a bone.. THE BONE will heal stronger, but it won't adjust your pain tolerance.
adrenaline will just flood your brain and make you forget about the pain for a moment so that you can move till you're save and your body can concentrate on healing itself.
and female hormones and bodys in itself have already a high pain tolerance because in life they have more pain to bear.
i mean- carrying and giving birth to a child, period cramps, etc. yk what i mean.

se seeing people wrongly thinking that midoriya has a high pain tolerance because of (mostly/it's not completely confirmed but very much hinted) vocal bullying, makes me a little mad.

there are many else character who would have a higher pain tolerance then he does, but still, no one would get stabbed and just.. take it out WITHOUT FLINCHING.
it's stupid and very much not realistic, ik animes aren't realistic. but bnha is pretty realistic about the human body and bruises and burns and all that shit. it's realistic about abuse, and victims to a whole fucking lot. it's realistic about how easily people can change and not change, what will change them and that everything has drawbacks.

and now sitting here and showing a crying fifteen year old as someone with a high pain tolerance from NOTHING? I'm mad, really, fucking angry dude.

here's a list of people who probably have a much higher pain tolerance then this broccoli bitch does:

ofc let's start with shouto, because it's about class 1A, right? we're talking about a victim to physical and psychological abuse from both his parents for probably around 11 years.
he has a fucking BURN on his face from ice that he got from his mother, he got trained (read: beat up) by his father (probably daily) till he throws up (very prettily shown on multiple occasions in the manga) which went on for years.
then he went to a hero school pretty much unwillingly (my autocorrect just wanted to change that to "unwillingly LYNX" and now I'm crying sad tears instead of angry tears), got attack by villains, got stabbed by two ca. 8 cm long knives, he overworkes himself a whole fucking lot till exhaustion, again, on multiple occasions! he got punched with a smash right in the stomach which most definitely broke some ribs and didn't flinch.. he overheated himself, (third movie spoiler!) he almost drowned, basically water boarded himself to stay alive, got burned half to death (I'll never forget his voice cracked scream) (spoiler ends), he froze himself half to death touched a laser beam with his bear hand, he almost got burned alive again (this time touya, yea not even a spoiler for this), and who fucking knows what'll happen next to him in the manga.

aizawa fucking shouta. literally- HE GOT DECAYED SO MANY TIMES AND DIDN'T SCREAM? NEVER? I'VE NEVER HEARD THIS MAN SCREAM WHILE GETTING DECAYED.
he got stabbed, smushed in the ground, lost his eye, lost his leg, lost so much. he got hurt so often and we don't even know what all happend in the past ten years of his hero career?
I won't write an whole essay but like- ??? DUDE??
