I can already feel the confusion, disagreement, disappointment, etc. coming through the screen but let me explain.  Chara and Frisk are both human children that fell into the underground, idk why Frisk was up there but us Undertale fans know "it wasn't for a very happy reason."  They both have the same soul, determination.  Both can make a huge impact on the world.  Chara isn't bad, they're just easily influenced since they're a child.  Force them to see their friends killed and they'll see that as what the world is about.  Frisk and Chara are in very similar situations and are stuck together.  They make a great team and honestly the fanart is cute!  Canonically their relationship probably won't be romantic but they would make a great couple!
