I know that it's been a really really long time since I updated this, but I'm back and I will try to update more regularly. I know it's not Thursday yet, but i felt motivated and thought I'd give you an extra to compensate for my absence. This one is about Mean Girls! Enjoy!

Okay, so i love this musical much i don't even know where to begin, so I'll go song by song.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SKIP TO THE END FOR A BRIEF SUMMARY OF WHAT IT'S ABOUT!!!

A Cautionary Tale:

A truly amazing intro song! I love all the orchestrations! The melody is super catchy. I also think it's cool to have Janis (originally played by Barrett Wilbert Weed) and Damian (originally played by Grey Henson) introduce the musical as well. And I'm just gonna put it out there: I LOVE JANIS SO MUCH. SHE'S SO FUNNY AND SARCASTIC AND SHE IS SO AMAZING. Thank you! On to the next one!

It Roars:

Such an amazing song to introduce our protagonist, Cady Heron (originally played by Erika Henningsen). She has a different story to tell, and with her powerful belting notes, she demands to be heard. She is a strong female character who we watch develop into an even stronger character by the end of the musical.

Where Do You Belong?:

This song is so good! I love Damian and Janis helping Cady getting used to life in high school. They help her navigate the hallways and teach her about the different cliques and groups. They try and help her find a place in a world she knows little about: High School.

Meet The Plastics:

In this song, we meet The Plastics! They are the most popular group of Girls at school! Led by the queen bee, Regina George (originally played by Taylor Louderman), Regina is a feisty girl who only thinks for and about herself. Then, there's Gretchen Weiners( originally played by Ashley Park): the gossip queen. Gretchen knows all, tells all, and may or may not be emotionally stable at times. Then, last but certainly not least, we have Karen Smith (originally played by Kate Rockwell). She is considered "the dumb one", but that doesn't bring her down! She loves Halloween and World Peace, and though she is considered to be dumb, she brings up some serious and smart topics from a simple perspective.

Stupid With Love:

Fun lyrics, and a simple way to get more perspective on two of our main characters: Cady and Aaron Samuels (originally played by Kyle Selig). It's a simple melody and overall, it's an amazing addition to the musical and it's a pretty good song!

Apex Predator:

LITERALLY SUCH A BOP. Janis is awesome. Cady is confused by Regina's power. Regina is powerful. What more is there to say😂. I love how Janis is trying to warn Cady, and Cady is just going along with it. This is definitely one of my favorite songs in the whole musical!

What's Wrong With Me?:

Low key kinda sad actually. We really see how fragile Gretchen is. It kinda reminds me of Lifeboat from Heathers. It's meaningful because we see the insecurity and paranoia Gretchen faces. She learns everyone's secrets because she doesn't want to have to face the parts of her which scare her, because she is insecure. Also, Gretchen is a cinnamon roll. She ain't innocent, but she's a cinnamon roll.

Stupid With Love (Reprise):

A great reprise! We see more of Aaron and Cady, and it's super cute!

Sexy:

Absolutely hilarious!! Karen is so stupid but smart at the same time!! I really enjoy this song when I just need like a motivating song to like clean my room.

Someone Gets Hurt:

Omg I love this song SO MUCH! I love how you can hear Regina manipulating Aaron into believing something that never happened. It's such a powerful song! I really love singing along to this any time!

Revenge Party:

Oh my goodness this song is fantastic!! Janis reminds me so much of myself yet even though she has a view of how to go about life in high school, she's still learning about people and how the world works. Also, Damian is one of my theatre IDOLS!! He's hilarious and smart and gives amazing advice!

Fearless:

Ok, listening to this song makes me chuckle a little! It's ironic I guess because you know Regina is kind of the leader of Gretchen and Karen and when Cady takes her down, they immediately turn to Cady, asking her to be their leader because they didn't like having a leader. It's pretty funny!😁👍

Stop:

Again, Damian and Karen are absolutely hilarious! They are so funny in trying to show Cady that actions always have consequences, whether they're good or bad.

I'm sorry. The next song is "What's Wrong With Me? (Reprise)" but I can't seem to find a video. If you guys really want my opinion on that, then let me know in the comments.

Whose House Is This?:

This song is upbeat and funny and a good song to get you pumped up! It's really interesting to see how Cady still tries to be smart at the beginning of the song, but eventually gives into perr pressure and drinks alcohol and starts partying immaturely.

More Is Better:

I feel like in this song, Cady realizes what she's been doing wrong and that she needs to fix it. Aaron says that he liked her before she tried to be someone else. She realizes that people like you when you're authentic. It's a nice slow song with some beautiful vocals from Erika Henningsen.

Someone Gets Hurt (Reprise):

I love this song because Janis just GOES OFF! She tells Cady that what she's been doing is not ok, and that people are getting hurt while she's pretending to not notice people.

World Burn:

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!! Regina is so powerful when she creates a plan to take down Cady. She is so funny in a serious way.😂

I'd Rather Be Me:

I freaking love this song and this video!!! Barrett's voice is so good!!! I love how powerful this message is to young girls. The message that girls shouldn't be afraid to show their feelings. Girls shouldn't care about what other people think because most of the time, it doesn't matter.

Do This Thing:

Honestly such a bop!! It makes me feel like I can do so much! Also, I know random math phrases which mean absolutely nothing out of context!😂

I See Stars:

Such a strong and positive ending to a fantastic musical!! It is so positive in saying that we are all beautiful just as we are. It doesn't matter what we've done. If we change for the better, this world would be a much, much, much, MUCH better place!
