After dinner, Mrs.Nair took Rahil to his room to sleep. Pakhi too got up and went towards her room. She was silent throughout the dinner. She ignored Arjun and was just talking to Rahil. Arjun smiled thinking at least Rahil succeeded in winning her heart. Now only he was left. It won't be much longer when she will be his forever.

He followed her to talk "Pakhi listen I want to talk with you" Pakhi entered her room and kept the door open. Arjun took this as her indication and went inside after her "How are you Pakhi?" Pakhi answered without looking at him "I am fine now if your talk is over then please leave my room. I want to sleep"

Arjun sighed "I know you don't want to talk to me but please just hear me out once" She didn't replied so he continued "That day when you came back, you misunderstood me. That girl was my classmate and she was having a crush on me since our college days but I never encouraged her so she came to my apartment that day to seduce me and forced herself on me. Before I could gain my senses back regarding what was happening and push her away, you came and saw us in a compromising position. I swear I didn't do anything Pakhi"

Pakhi glared at him "Even if you didn't do anything that day then why you never gave answer to my proposal Arjun?" Arjun looked here and there "Actually I liked you from the first time I saw you Pakhi when I came to your home with Karan but I thought you were too young for me back then. Afterwards I had many dark phase in my own life and I assumed you deserve somebody better than me so I didn't gave any answer to your proposal. I thought you are my best friend's sister so Karan won't approve of me for you and I didn't want to lose a friend like Karan who always helped me in my tough time"

Pakhi was shocked hearing his confession "How can you think so Arjun? You should have asked me instead of thinking on my behalf. We would have worked out the things  but no you never considered me beyond being your friend's baby sister" Arjun gulped hearing her "No Pakhi it's not like that" She raised her hand silencing him "Leave it Arjun. It's of no use to talk about past now. Moreover you have a kid and your wife won't appreciate knowing about our past"

She was so shocked when she heard Rahil addressing Arjun as Pa. She wondered when he got married but then she was not in India since last four years so how come she know that. Moreover she was waiting for his wife at the dinner table today but she didn't saw any lady apart from Rahil's nanny and her. She turned towards Arjun and asked "By the way, I didn't saw your wife today. Where is she?" Arjun frowned hearing her "Who told you I have a wife? I am not yet married" Pakhi jaw wide opened hearing him. She shouted "How come you have a kid without marrying? I mean I know how kids come but it is wrong Arjun. You made someone pregnant, left her alone and took your baby away from her. What kind of person does that?"

Arjun gave a dirty look to her "Do you really think that low of me Pakhi? Rahil is not my son. I mean he is legally but his is not mine biological" Pakhi was now confused hearing him "What do you mean he is not yours biologically?"

Arjun sighed and told her "He is my cousin sister Shweta's son. Shweta and her husband died in a car accident when Rahil was six months old. No one from either of their families were ready to accept him and take his responsibility so I brought him to live with me. I adopted him legally last year on his first birthday"

Pakhi was stunned hearing Arjun. She admired him for his selflessness. He not took that little boy's responsibility but even gave his name to him. "Poor Rahil lost his parents at a very young age. Thank God you were there for him or else I can't imagine what would have happened with him. He is so small for all these" Arjun nodded hearing her "Initially I too thought to be Rahil's guardian till he grows up but that little one captured my heart the moment he came in my life and called me Pa. I would give anything to keep him with me forever. He is the light of my life" Pakhi gave a small smile to him "Yes Rahil can win anyone heart without even trying. He is a bundle of joy"

Arjun then asked her hesistantly "So Pakhi now since I cleared our misunderstanding will you please forgive me? I love you so much and these seven years without you were hell. I don't want to live alone anymore. My life is incomplete without you"

Pakhi looked away. She had tears in her eyes hearing Arjun's love confession. She waited seven years to hear those three words from him but now when he is telling it to her, she still can't forget the pain she suffered all these years because of him "I don't know Arjun. I still can't forget the pain and heart break I suffered all these years"

Arjun sighed "I know you have all the rights to be angry with me. My mistakes are not easily forgivable but Pakhi I won't let you go away from me this time. I will win your love and forgiveness. You take rest. I will meet you in the morning" Saying this he went to his room.

Pakhi kneeled on the bed and started crying. Curse her fate she thought angrily. Why he has to win her back now when she learned to live without him. She angrily wiped her tears. She won't give in so easily. Arjun will have to work hard to gain her forgiveness.
