"See you tomorrow. (Y/N)," he smiles at me with such a kind manner that I couldn't help but smile back at him, though still looking nervous.

I walk out of the classroom and take out my schedule.

"Monster history with Mr. Nightmare. Doesn't sound too bad."

Now:

The history room isn't too far away so I don't take too much time getting there.

I walk into the classroom and immediately sit down, taking out a notebook and a pen.

A few minutes later, the bell rings and everyone sits down.

"Good morning, class. My name is Mr. Nightmare and I am your history teacher for this year..." Mr. Nightmare says in a sort of monotone voice.

I take a little time to take in his appearance. He is a skeleton wearing a black vest with a purple collared shirt underneath it. He also wears a pair of black pants and black shoes. A black hat with an amber moon is placed on his head. He doesn't look that excited to be here...

"We're not going to be doing much today. Just taking a small placement test to see how much everyone knows about the basics of monster history."

Most of the class groans but a few nerds smile. I tense up AGAIN for the third? time today.

'Oh, God...I'm not prepared for a test!!'

"Oh, don't give me that, guys. It's just 10 questions. And this isn't even going to count as a grade. As long as you finish the test, I will give you a 100. I will pass out the papers now and you can start when I tell you to.'

He passes out the paper to each student, keeping the paper faced down.

"You will have the whole period to complete this so you should have enough time. You may turn over your paper and begin."

I do as he says and I immediately write my name and the date on the top of the test.

Humans and monsters were at war. Eventually, the humans won and they used a spell to create a barrier to trap the monster underground. The spell had to be cast by 7 of the powerful mages in the world.

3. Why were humans afraid of monsters at the time?

Humans were afraid that when monsters absorb their souls, they would become creatures even more powerful than a human.

4. What is the difference between a regular monster and a boss monster?

One difference between the 2 is that boss monsters souls can persist for a few seconds after death but regular monsters souls cannot. The other difference between the 2 is that boss monsters only age when their offspring does.
The only 3 known boss monsters currently are King Asgore, Queen Toriel, and Prince Asriel.

Determination (red)-a firmness of purpose
Bravery (orange)-a courageous behavior
Justice (yellow)-a quality of being fair and reasonable
Kindness (green)-a quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate

Integrity (dark blue)-a quality of always striving to do the right thing

6. What's the difference between a monster soul and a human soul?

The main difference is that a human soul is shaped like a right side up heart while a monster soul is upside down. Another difference is that the human soul can contain large amounts of determination, as a monster cannot. If a monster soul is able to contain determination, it would be a very small amount. If a monster soul is injected with too much determination, their physical structure would start to melt because monsters are solely made of magic. The third difference is that human souls can persist after death due to determination, however, monsters cannot unless it is a boss monster who can survive for a few seconds before the soul shatters.

7. What do LV and EXP stand for?

LV stands for Level of Violence (A way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt. The more you kill, the easier it becomes to distance yourself. The more you distance yourself, the less you will hurt. The more easily you can bring yourself to hurt others.)
EXP stands for execution points (A way of quantifying the pain you have inflicted on others. When you kill someone, your EXP increases.)

10. Explain the Deltarune Prophecy.

The Deltarune describes a prophecy that one day, an angel, who has seen the surface, will descend from above and the whole underground will go empty. There are 2 interpretations of this prophecy. One of them is that it is the "Angel of Death" who will kill everyone in the Underground. The other one is that the angel will break the barrier and set everyone free.

11. Extra Credit (10 points): There are different species of monsters that live in the Underground. Name 3 minor monsters for each of the locations in the Underground.

I put my pen down and look around the room.

'No one else seems to be done...'

"(Y/N)?"

I jolt up from my seat and look at Mr. Nightmare.

"Are you finished?"

I nod my head, fidgeting my fingers.

He signals for me to hand me his paper and I slowly stand up, grabbing my paper. I get to his desk and hand him the paper and sit down again.

He puts the test on his desk and starts marking it.

I turn my head away as to not look at Mr. Nightmare grading the paper, but I can hear the pen scratching the paper so clearly.

I put my head down and try not to concentrate on the sounds of Mr. Nightmare grading my test. A few other students start standing up to hand Mr. Nightmare their papers.

Most of the period goes by and everyone is done with their test.

"Alright, class. Since everyone is done, I will pass out the tests now. They will not be graded but if you have some answers incorrect, please correct them and turn them in again tomorrow."

Mr. Nightmare calls out everyone's names and passes out the tests.

"(Y/N)."

I raise my hand and receive my paper and keep it faced down.

'You failed. You failed. You failed!!'

I slowly turn around my paper to see a big red 110% right on the center top of my paper.

I put my head down and chuckle slightly.

'Love how you get so worked up about this test, (Y/N)!'

The bell rings and I put away my test.

"No homework for tonight, everyone!" Mr. Nightmare half shouts as students rush out to the door to get to their next class.

I pick up my backpack and swing it over my shoulder. I check my schedule to see that I have astrology with Mr. Dream next.
