Appearance: Ava is a slender yet somewhat curvy witch with fair skin, brown hair worn loose at chest-length, and hazel eyes. She typically wears a purple/magenta dress with an indigo-blue sash-belt, pastel-blue leggings, and purple Mary Janes with short, dark-blue socks. She accessorizes with a silver bracelet on her right wrist and a magenta crystal-ball necklace.

For outdoor labor (like collecting some reagents for a potion), she wears a blue heavy-duty shirt with brown cargo pants (or whatever their equivalent would be in the Boiling Isles), honey-colored gloves, and gray boots.

As "Val," she takes on some physical features akin to a fox, including the nose and ears, fur (the color of which extends to her hair, which is held up in a ponytail), claws (on her hands), and tail. She wears a sparkly, sleeveless red leotard with light- and dark-blue ribbon-like stripes, along with a light-blue pleated skirt, dark-blue tights, and black, slip-on ballet-style flats.

Back in her days at Glandus High, she wore the Glandus High uniform: a gray tunic with dark-gray trims, matching Mary Janes, and the blue and purple sleeves and leggings of Glandus' healing and oracle tracks.

Personality: Ava is a selfless, kind, and brave young witch who's perpetually curious about the world around her and interested in several different spells (which is part of why she's always struggled to choose just one Coven). These traits can make her rather reckless and impulsive at times, especially when it comes to putting herself in harm's way for someone else's protection.

Despite her impulsive tendencies, Ava's also rather smart, coming up with creative spell combinations and making great use of her Oracle magic in battle (among several other different types of magic).

As "Val," her "alter-ego," she displays a more egotistical and theatrical attitude. She also acts rather cheeky, frequently taunting her opponents. Deep down, however, she still has Ava's bravery and kind heart.

Background: Growing up, Ava usually kept to herself and avoided the spotlight. She always struggled to decide on just one Track to follow, choosing both Healing (wanting to use that power to help and heal others) and Oracle (to better understand what others are thinking/feeling). What was even more difficult was choosing which Coven she was going to join; she could've tried for the Emperor's Coven, but she didn't want to have to get rid of Iris.

Relationships: Carol and Evan Crowley- Ava looks up to both of her older siblings, but she's considerably closer with Carol, who gave Ava her crystal-ball necklace.
Iris- As Ava's Unifox (fox-unicorn hybrid) palisman, Iris is a fiercely loyal companion... who's always up for snuggles when Ava's feeling down (which is often). Their bond is one of the reasons why Ava decided against joining the Emperor's Coven; if she did, then she'd have to give up Iris (not to mention her fears about Belos potentially mistreating her beloved Palisman).

Powers and Abilities: Magic- Like most witches, her connection to magic comes from a sac of magic bile attached to her heart.
Healing Magic- Having mainly studied Healing magic during her school years, Ava knows several healing spells and will gladly use them to treat others' wounds. She can also conjure ribbon-like bandages that contain healing magic.
Abomination Magic: Ava enjoys creating Abominations, mainly for companionship (and because her father pressured her into it). She's also used Potion magic to create some unique Abomination goo formulas, such as the kind that make Aquabominations (made with some water magic), Abomination goo made with clay for super-strong Abominations, and even Abominations capable of independent thought and opinion (for honest yet non-judgmental feedback on her stories).
Bard Magic: Having come from a family of witches gifted in Bard magic, Ava grew up with a love for music and has a talent for singing (which is how she and her siblings typically use Bard magic). She mainly uses it while battling as "Val," but she can sometimes end up unintentionally using Bard spells while singing for fun (and once while squealing in excitement over meeting Raine Whispers in person).
Beast Keeping Magic- Ava always thought that adopting animal characteristics was really cool, which is why she made it part of her transformation into "Val."
  Oracle Magic- Using the crystal-ball necklace given to her by Carol, Ava was able to see into the future... where she saw several witches being drained of their magic through their sigils (and dying), sparking Ava's refusal to join the Coven System. She's also used Oracle magic to predict where and when Coven Scouts would come after her (thereby allowing time to plan her escapes) and predict her opponents' moves in battle.
  Illusion Magic- Avalon prefers to reserve her Illusion spells for "Val," especially back when "Val" was used for fighting against and hiding from Coven Scouts. Of course, Ava does enjoy using Illusion magic for makeovers.
Construction Magic- Ava believes that Construction magic "may not be all that glamorous, but it sure is useful." She often uses it to create equipment that she needs to collect reagents for potions. She also thinks that using strength-boosting power glyphs is pretty cool.
  Plant Magic- "Val" makes ample use of Plant magic while battling in "Red Fox Mode," while Ava prefers using it to grow (non-lethal) flowers to make sick/injured witches feel better, as well as helping out her maternal grandmother (a member of the Plant Coven). She's also found it useful for whenever a potion requires (something extracted from) a certain type of plant.
  Potion Magic- Ava mainly creates healing potions and relies on her singing abilities to alter the potion's properties. She's admitted herself that "Potions have always been more of Jackal's thing."
Elemental Magic- "Val" frequently uses ice magic in her "Arctic Fox Mode," especially for pulling a smoke-and-mirrors effect (with an icy haze replacing the smoke part). In another vein, Ava can use her "Aquabomination" goo to put out fires (including wild ones).
Agility/Dancing- In battle, "Val" dodges opponents' attacks with her dance moves.
Combat- In addition to dodging attacks, "Val" can use her dance moves (and wielding her staff) to land some hits on opponents (though Iris frequently helps).
