Backstory: Sunkit was born into BirdClan. She spent her kithood playing with her sister, Meadowkit. Sunkit and Meadowkit both shared a fire inside, but Meadowkit kept by the rules. Sunkit wasn't quite as obedient. She loved to play pranks and this continued when she was apprenticed. Her mentor was Eaglestrike, a warrior with enough energy to keep up with Sunpaw. It was around this time Sunpaw met her "imaginary" friend. The friend called himself Littlepaw, and helped Sunpaw when she was upset. He also helped her fight, which had never been her strong point. As her apprenticship went on, Sunpaw found a more real friend, Pigeonpaw. The two play fought together, often roping in an unwilling Meadowpaw too. Sunpaw was happy. The only thing that bothered her was that she wanted to see what was beyond the territory, but she couldn't travel and be a warrior. Things changed one night, when hungry rogues attacked to try and steal some prey. One of them got Sunpaw's mother, Wrenstar, pinned down. Littlepaw told Sunpaw about it and she rushed over. She leapt at the rogue, but an apprentice versus a full grown rouge wasn't a fair fight. Suddenly, Sunpaw found herself slashing out, clawing the cat from throat to tail tip. She had never learnt a killing move, she didn't know where it came from. Sunpaw looked down at her paws and, just for a moment, they looked longer, as if there was something on the ends of them, but it wasn't long before they went back to normal. She heard Littlepaw's voice saying he helped her. She didn't know what he meant. Sunpaw was having trouble coping with the fact she killed a cat, and asked her mother if she could leave the Clan. Wrenstar agreed, but only if she went through her warrior ceremony with her sister (she's 11 moons at this point). Sunpaw agrees and becomes Sunfire, before setting off into the distance. A day goes by, and Sunfire is reasonably tired. She finds a pool and stops to take a drink. Unfortunately, this was the Moonpool, and Sunfire almost immediately collapsed. During her journey, Littlepaw had warned her of a dangerous cat who lived in forests. He had a bright ginger pelt, green eyes and would kill a cat in a heartbeat. When Sunfire came to StarClan she saw that cat, exactly how Littlepaw had described to her. She struck out of fear. It seems that was all Littlepaw, or Scourge, needed. Sunfire was unable to control herself as she dove for the cat (Firestar) who attempted to dodge, but Sunfire was to quick. She aimed a blow at his head. And it hit. Firestar fell to the ground, and faded away. Her paws had changed again, more clearly this time. There were teeth on her claws, dog's teeth. Yowls sounded around her. "Firestar!" "Firestar is dead!"
"Scourge has won!".
Sunfire is horrified. She is chased by the cats of StarClan, and she shuts her eyes to try and block out the other cats. The next time she opens them, she's back beside the Moonpool. Sunfire tries to convince herself it was just a dream. She wanders longer, before finding SkyClan. They still have ghost seeing cats in the Clan, and one of them reveals Scourge. Scourge explains that Sunfire's father was the last of the BloodClan descended cats to still kill, and only Sunfire showed potential of continuing that tradition, before boasting about defeating Firestar. This is Scourge trying to get Sunfire to choose to fight. Unfortunately, SkyClan are smarter than that. They help Sunfire defeat Scourge, who doesn't seem to mind fading away as he had already had his revenge. SkyClan allows Sunfire in, but that doesn't mean there aren't cats in the Clan who would still rather see her dead.
