Backstory: Ever since Sonic, Tails and Knuckles disappeared, Dr. Eggman decided to create a creature based on Maria Robotnik's dna he found when he was in Space Colony Ark, and stole some DNA when he found Shadow again before going to space to battle the Metarex, during those times he also found out about his grandson which still tries to remember how it lead it to that point, maybe he was drunk in his younger days? It is unknown. Both created Afriel, he was not like shadow who was the ultimate lifeform, unlike shadow who doesn't have the ingredient to reproduce since Gerald Robotnik thought it was unnecessary but thanks to Eggman, Afriel has a chance to do so, a hedgehog creature who will lead to Silver's existence in the far future
After being convinced by the new trio of heroes he was fighting the wrong side and meeting Shadow, it was enough to leave Eggman and chester before defeating them, ending the crazy war that started the moment sonic went missing, now new adventures await for him
