Carabelle Ginnam
Name: Carabelle Ginnam
Nickname: Cara, Bell and Bella (prefers Cara)
Age: 19
Gender: Female
House: House Ginnam
Power: Duplication
Sexuality: Straight
Faceclaim: Olivia Mennie.
Personality:
At first, Carabelle seems like a blank canvas. Nothing much goes on in that pretty little head of hers as she sits, smiles and nods to whatever you say. It's not that she doesn't have much to say, nor much of an opinion. Instead she has a lot to say, being very opinionated and when she allows herself to be, wise. However, she learnt from a very young age not to speak her mind. Not to say a thing and to keep her mouth shut and head down. To not draw attention to herself. What else can you do, when your whole life is surrounded by lies?
She was hidden away until she was two before her mother married her father. Then she was introduced as a child born within marriage, even to her half-brother. Her mother made her pinky promise, swear and everything else she could to keep her quiet. That's how she learnt it was in this house. She was spoilt rotten, got whatever she could ever wish for. But her life was painted with lies, truths that she cannot tell. As she grew, she learnt more and more of the houses secrets. Or to be more precise, her mothers. She learnt that her mother was a snake, sleeping with multiple men even before she was born. She was certain the only reason she was born in the first place, was so that her father would marry her mother. Her father after all is a nobleman with a lot of money. All this she keeps locked up in that pretty head of hers, refusing to speak out but watching it all play in front of her. She doesn't loath her mother, nor hate her. How could you hate your own mother? Instead she dislikes her, finds her like a foul smell in the air. This is why she agrees to her eldest brother's devious plans. Not that she tells him that.
Her mother continued to play an important role in her life growing up. Not only finding out secrets but trying to impose her own views upon her only daughter. How she should manipulate others, do whatever she can to win. While Carabelle prefers to think that this didn't influence her, it did. Although she doesn't wish for much, when she does she fights tooth and bone for it. There is always a way.
Despite everything she loves her siblings dearly. They for her, are the true family and she hates herself for having to keep secrets even from them. But it must be done.
Overall, to her it is second nature to lie and keep secrets. Generally, she is a nice person inside and out. Although she can be overly critical of others and she really has no care nor regard for rules or obeying anyone. She will do as she wishes. However, she prefers to pretend to be the innocent happy child that everyone perceives her to be, if not for herself then for her family's sake.
Carabelle always is dressed in the finest of silks. Spoilt rotten with three maids on her beck and call. Her parents tried to groom her to be the most marriageable lady who nods, sits and smiles. Often letting her brothers run amok while they focused on her, or at least their servants and tutors did. Still, she loved being in the company of her brothers, sword fighting, climbing trees or just sitting down watching a puppet show. It felt nice to be around them.
Lastly, the main thing she wants is to live a life away from her parents. Preferably taking her siblings with her. She would have done this years ago, however with her spoilt upbringing she knew she would never make it.
Likes:
- Strawberries
She generally loves all fruit, however strawberries come out on top as her favourite.
- Honesty
Although it may be a touch hypocritical, she loves it when people are honest with her. No snakes, no one trying to deceive her. She wants the plain truth.
- Spending time with her brothers
Heaven forbid if she comes out as a tomboy. She would secretly if she had to play with her brothers. She loves it when they are near, always smiling and feeling like everything was right in the world. Even if she got all the best dresses with three maids all at her beck and call, just because she was the only daughter. She still loved playing sword fights and everything else with her brothers.
- Eaves Dropping
The only way you will ever know the full truth. A dastardly occupation, but fun and entertaining at the same time.
- Being in the know
Goes hand in hand with eaves dropping. She wants to know everything that is going on.
- Winning / Getting what she wants
Although she rarely had anything she wants or needs to win. When she does she will give it all she has. There is always a way, and she is willing to do nearly anything to get what she wants.
- Horse Riding
She loves the feeling of wind in her face while her hair blows behind her. It's like a brief amount of freedom with a bit of defiance on top. After all, she should never, ever ride like a man. No side saddle is enough for ladies. Not that she listens.
Dislikes:
- Keeping secrets and telling lies
She feels as if one day they all would catch up to her. Turning people away from her as they see who she truly is. She hates the feeling of betraying those she loves. Not to mention the fact that it all makes her head spin.
- Books
Having never read a story in her life, all books she is familiar with is full of knowledge and things she should know. Whenever she sees books, it reminds her of unhappiness and boredom as she sat listening to her tutors drone on.
- Being the centre of attention
Growing up with being told to keep to the sidelines and not open her mouth. When she is thrust into the centre of attention she finds herself not knowing what to say, nor think. She hates the spotlight being put on her and all those judging gazes.
How did they discover their powers?:
The windows were shut and the glass fogged as the storm drew on. The room pitch dark par the tiny lit candle on her bedside. The small flame flickered against the wooden surface illuminating barely a thing in the room. That was where Carabelle learnt of her power. Silently, she leaned forward taking the glass of water on the bedside table and putting it to her lips. Taking a sip, she put it back onto the bedside table hearing a small 'clink' as the glass slotted inside another. Tired, she didn't think much of it and blew out the candle falling asleep. In the morning however, confusion settled in as she gazed upon the second glass, her eyebrows furrowed as she went to pick it up. Once again, the glass duplicated earning a small yelp to escape her lips. But she refused to tell anyone. Another secret among the household. Except, it was a bit hard, considering things duplicated at random moments leaving her refusing to touch a thing at times when in the presence of anyone par herself. She must confess, one time she was almost certain it happened at dinner, and another in the presence of Romuel.
