Her Birth Past: In the episode Predatory, Arcee has flashbacks of her and Arachnid and how she gave up her child in order to save Rain from being taken away from her mother's enemy. What really happened was that Arcee was captured by Arachnid when she was pregnant with Rain, Arachnid told Arcee that in order to save her partner, she had to give up her child to her by the moment the sparkling is born, When Arcee gave birth, she lied to Arachnid telling her that the child died, but the truth was that Rain was sent to earth in an escape pod and found by two married scientists. Why Arachnid said to give up Rain to her is because when Arachnid gave birth her child had died because the birthing was too long. Till this day, Rain has been on high guard because of Arachnid who is still hunting her.

Voice Box Past: What really happened to her voicebox is that she was on a mission with Bumblebee and Wheeljack, they were trying to find the energon mine when something had attacked them, Rain followed the mysterious person telling her where he could find the matrix, she said and I quote :"I'll rip out my own voice box before you could find it!". When she had said that, her voice box was ripped out by that person, and he left her there to die of energon loss. Ratchet tried everything to repair her voice box. She's been stuck talking like Bumblebee and Raf is the only person who can translate them. Since then she's been wanting revenge on the person who hurt her.
