Rae's dad died before she was born, so she was brought up by her mother and brother. her mother was working three jobs by the time she was a year old so she could support the family, so her brother was the main "parental figure" in her life, and they have a very close relationship, despite the 13 year age gap between them. she's very talented at writing and has won multiple writing competitions to supply some money for the family.
