Evelyn, much like a true Stark, is quite sarcastic and could come off as careless, as Bucky and Steve would say. But to be honest, it was because she always felt the need to prove herself and show that she wasn't just "Howard Starks sister". She was so much more than that. It wasn't easy always being in the shadow of your brother, but she still had a very close bond with Howard. Evie loved talking to people and having fun. That's why you'd find her going to the bar for a few drinks with the soldiers. What she loved the most was being with her best friends, Steven and James. The Times they'd have together was simply the times when she was at her happiest. However, when Hydra kidnapped and basically enslaved her, her whole personality changed. She got more quiet and snappy. She was more aware of the dangers in society which had led to her closing off her emotions. She still had her sarcasm and a tinge of her playfulness inside of her, but she wasn't the same person after everything. That's why she was in therapy for all of her trauma, which she didn't cooperate with whatsoever.

How Evelyn got taken by Hydra. It was after Steve had crashed the jet into the ocean, ultimately saving thousands of people. The period after that was a depressing and emotional state for Evelyn. She had lost two of her best friends over the space of a few months. Even though she should've been happy that they won the war, she couldn't bring herself to feel at least a little sparkle of joy. It was one specific night, it was the night that she had just gotten told that she was going to get married off to Gilmore Hodge. This was all planned by her parents and when she turned to her older brother for some backup, he suggested that maybe it was time that she settled down. This infuriated Evie and caused her to storm out and go on a walk. She had been walking for hours, yet she never even realised until she couldn't find her way back. That's when she was struck on the back of her head and was whisked away in a Hydra van.

Evelyn was encouraged to join the military by her brother, Howard. Even though women weren't a big thing in the military, Howard claimed that they needed someone to watch the soldiers, write out assessments on how the soldiers are doing in training, do the line ups and overall "give the soldiers something worth fighting for". Being surrounded by thousands of men wasn't that fun, believe it or not. So, with the extra push from her dad, Howard Sr, she joined. Even though her mother, Maria wasn't very happy about the said decision, she decided to support Evie through it. She had always been overlooked and compared to Howard. Sure, she wasn't as smart as he was and she wasn't some mad scientist inventor who wants to invent flying cars. But she was good at combat and coordinates. She had always been passionate about the topic of finding where you are and figuring out where you needed to go. The combat, she had learned to defend herself over the years. Thanks to one of her dad's friends who was more than happy to teach Evie how to defend herself.

Evelyn had met Steve after she had watched a movie with some of her friends, before she joined the military. She heard weird sounds coming from an alley and decided to check it out, encouraging her friends to go ahead. The small brunette went towards the noise, only to see Steve getting beaten up by a guy who was obviously much bigger than him. She couldn't believe the small man's determination as he kept getting back up. Evelyn went over and pulled the man away from Steve and scolded him for picking on someone who wasn't capable of defending themselves, there also may have been a bit of violence involved.....

When he saw the short brunette standing with a man towering over her, of course, he had to do something. He went over and swiftly grabbed the man by the collar and threw him out onto the streets before literally kicking his a*s to make sure he stayed away. There had been flirty banter between them since that day, but nothing too serious. After Hydra though, Bucky's mood towards Evelyn changed. It was like he hated her for some reason, but Evie wasn't letting down until she found out why.
