Her mother was a whore and her father a pimp. He had a few whores working for him. Helen grew up in the brothel (whorehouse) one night Hellen walked into the room where her mother was working. The man was holding his hands around her mother's neck  but for way to long so her mother died before Helen entered. When the man saw Helen he let go of her mother and found her not moving pretty breatthing. He had time left so he decided that Helen who was 5 at the time would be a great replacement.
He tried to strip her even kissed her and tried to do the dirty with his fingers but Helen started screaming. Her dad rushed in shot the man and he fell half on top of her. Helen was so scared that she didn't talk for 3 months and didn't want to be touched by anyone for at least 3 years.

Helen was 12 and she had her first client. Her father made sure to pick a gentleman for this first time. She had no idea who it would be. Helen talked about a boy non stop since she was 9. She wasn't surprised when she saw who it was. John who was 18 at the time. After John she had many clients. John came back a few times and she did go on a date with him twice. Her father wasn't doing well with business and he hat to sell Helen to a pimp to keep her alive basically. Helen was only 15, and little did she know that this would become a hell. She made some friends. Holly, Anna and Mary, they where best friends. Helen got the scares she has from the pimp of the brothel he justed to hit if you did anything wrong, or for the pleasure of the customers.

The last time she saw John for a long time was in 1914 he talked about the war and that he might need to fight. Helen begged him to get her out of the place before he would leave. He promised her he would get her out. But the next day, almost no costumers came in, Helen believed that John wouldn't break his promises but after 2 months she gave up. She had no clue if he had to fight in the war or anything.

Durring the war, there where almost no costumers. So there was a lot of free time. But the pimp was angry about it and made it harder for all the girls. More rules mor punishments. After 6 months he stopped, he saw that the girls couldn't take much more and the costumers didn't show much because of it. So je stopped and 4 weeks later the few costumers that where still in Birmingham came back.

1918 Helen had given up all hope to get out of this place. But John did show up. Hellen was mad that he made that promise and told her it would be over in a week but she knew it wasn't his faul. John told about Martha and the kids and the war. And after his time was up he walked away and said 'I won't break the promise again' and he didn't. He got her out in 2 days. Helen started to help with the business, mostly in the Garrison and to get info out of man. She still like John and if he likes her back she definitely dates and marries him.
