Her father had no choice but to marry her to keep her alive when she was 13 year old. He lost sight of her in battle and they kidnapped her. It was her live or her hand. He promised her he would get her out when he could. So he agreed to there captain to marry his daughter. She was abused by him and left her out with the crew naked if she didn't listen, and well pirates around a naked young woman is just 1 outcome. They will try to rape her and since she couldn't run anywhere she had been many times.
