Personality:
Madalena is complicated. She acts prim and proper, but if you pick a fight with her she'll probably kick your ass. She worked hard in order to get the title she has, and she won't lose it for anyone. Her job means the world to her, she loves working for the queen but it has it's downfalls. Madalena knows that in a tough situation, her life doesn't matter. No one's life matters unless it's one of royalty. She knows her place in this world. Madalena will serve the queen, and die for her all the same. She may be prissy, emotional, and complicated, but she's a loyal bitch. She's smart enough to know when to keep her mouth shut and when to speak up.

Strengths:
Observant ~ Madalena knows what's going on almost always. It's an Eldur thing, you know. It helps that she's also highly trusted by the queen, and is involved in almost every plot there is. Madalena knows when she should pick fights with people. Like, don't get her wrong, if you try and fight her she's going to fuck you up. With the job that she has, you have to be prepared. However, fighting isn't her first resource. She prefers to take in the situation and figure out what the best solution would be.
Trusted ~ Madalena is the only person who's even allowed to handle the Queen's weapons. She's also involved in almost every plot in the castle. Why? Cause she knows how to keep her mouth shut. Also, she's probably someone who's least likely to kill the queen. Madalena would die for her because that's her duty, even if she doesn't agree with it all the time.
Resourceful ~ Again, Madalena can kick your ass. Honestly if she wasn't so good with all the social aspects of court, she could've been a guard. If you want someone who'll help you survive, she's your best bet. She's incredibly protective of the royal family, and will do everything in her power to protect them.

Weaknesses:
Coward ~ I know, it's weird considering how protective she is. To explain, she's a coward when it comes to taking a risk. She hates change, and she doesn't want to risk losing her position. Even with love she won't risk it. She won't try and go for love unless she knows it's going to work out with her social status.
Pessimistic ~ It's probably frustrating to any optimistic people. Madalena just likes to be real with what's going on. She thinks almost every situation is going to end up going badly. She just doesn't see the point in looking to the bright side of things when you could be honest instead.

Backstory: Told by Madalena Norwood:
"When I was little, my father made my purpose clear. My purpose was to marry a man of power, and to be the best wife I could be. I spent the beginning of my life meeting many suitors, but none of them ever worked for me. I also started my job as a lady in waiting to the queen. Through this job, I met him. By him, I mean the man who came to be my first love, James. He was nothing but a servant, and I knew I shouldn't have even spoke to him. It's just.. well... He challenged me in ways no man had dared to challenge. Being a lady in waiting, I was seen as this pristine doll, and to be honest that is exactly what I was. He saw me as more, and he brought out the best in me. He even taught me how to fight, because attacks can be frequent at a castle. We started as friends but he... He wanted more and I wasn't entirely innocent to that. He loved me and if we're being honest, I loved him. But then I got the letter, a letter from my father that reminded me of my purpose. To marry someone of a rich status, to rise in social ranks. I knew what I had to do. I cut things off with James, it ended in a huge fight and a whole in my heart. He'd tried proposing to me on that same night. Our conversation went like this: "people like me, we're only meant for one thing and you know that! You know that I can't risk being in this romance with you. I just can't!"
He was upset by my decision. He didn't understand though, this wasn't a choice. It was the only option I had. He had went, "Why can't you fight for me, for us, just this once Lena. Please? Please don't do this. Because if I walk out that door, you are never going to see me again. You're throwing away your happiness for what? For a father who has never treated you well, for a title? I've always loved you and stood by you and I've stayed here. When will you realize that it's not your job to carry the burden of striving to be what your father wants? When will you realize that I think you're enough as you are and while I don't have much, my love for you is stronger than any force in this life."
"I can't throw away everything on some ... On some dream! We'd never survive in this world, okay? You can barely look after yourself and I can't ruin your life like this. I can't live the way you want to live, James. I just can't."
"Okay. Then I want you to remember this as the moment you threw away your happiness. I'll remember you as the woman who told me that I would never be enough for her."
Then he left. The last time I saw him was when he was walking away with some soldiers to fight a battle. He'd been enlisted. I never found love and I never found happiness. I did manage to get the title I have today though, right hand to the queen. I grew close to her and her family, and I learned how to survive in this world. I know my life may be worth nothing, but I'll die serving this family. I don't want to lose anymore people. Not again."
