Psalms 13:5-6 But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

The previous verses will tell you what was David going through. There was a disturbance inside of him... He felt God has forgotten him, there was sorrow in his heart... his enemies were above him, death was emminent, there was trouble.

But even in his worst situation, he chose to say 'But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.' (NLT)

In moments we are challenged by our circumstances... we are to activate our faith in God... this faith will lead us to trust, know and rejoice in God.

Trust is to be confident, be secure and be hopeful in the LORD your God. Focus is essential here. You are to be IN the right POSITION. 'IN' is the position to be in... IN THE LORD there's confidence, security, and hope... apart from Him  we have nothing and we become nothing.
But this trust is grounded on our Knowledge of Him.

KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
Know God more... His love is unfailing, He is merciful, He is good. This knowledge of Him and experience of this knowledge will set our hearts to trust Him in our lives... we become confident in Him... we are secure because we know He is faithful and He saves, delivers, heals. We trust because we know Him.

YOUR TESTIMONY
'You have rescued me'
Remember what God has done for you. Remember those experiences you've been through that has brought you so low... and forget not what God has done in your life... His deliverence, His healing, His love, His patience and faithfulness... Remember the LORD your God. This will enable you to trust Him whenever life's circumstances seems off and heavy for you... God was able then, He is able now... He will be able tomorrow. He doesn't change... your knowledge of Him will solidify your trust in Him

REJOICE IN HIM
And this trust that we have because we have known Him will give joy in our hearts... because there's a sense of assurance in us. The joy that we have in this life is grounded on our trust in God. This will be your life's response to negative situation: Rejoicing... in singing. 'My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.'

The more we trust Him... the more joy we have in us not because of our circumstance but because of Him, whom we have come to know. In reality, the satisfaction I have is because I have God in me.

That is what David had... God himself. And so no matter how heavy life was for Him at that moment... and that even in hopelessness, He had hope.... even when his enemies seems to have truimph, He had confidence... even when troubles and pains in this life took hold of him, He had joy because He had faith in God... He had God.

All you ever needed in this life is GOD. There's no excuse of not having Him in our lives for He has given Himself to us freely in His Son, Jesus Christ. Faith in Him will make wonders and miracles in our lives even in our darkest time. Have faith.
