It started again. The chase. Every single day. I really couldn't get a break, now could I. Both the cheerleaders and the jocks chasing. How wonderful. The cheerleaders were doing flips and cartwheels while running while the jocks whooped and shoulder bumped each other. It would seem quite funny to you but to me, it was terrifying. No one noticed me running, but they sure noticed the jocks. They shoved people out of the way. I slowed down for a split second to push open the door and burst onto the pavement, breaking out in a run for the street. There was open space now. They'd be able to catch up in no time. I frantically tried to zigzag but some predicted my strategy and nearly caught me. But luckily I was short enough that when I ducked, they barely grazed the top of my head. I made it to the street in one piece, but didn't expect one last push from Jason. I tumbled onto the street, landing hard on my hands and knees, before hearing the loud screech of tires moving full speed ahead. I thought they might stop. I forgot that people didn't usually notice me. I stared until the headlights were as big as two moons, then crash. Pain erupted from most my body. Heat trickled out of my nose and mouth, maybe my ears too but I wouldn't know as silence rang around me. I couldn't open my eyes, they felt like they were attached to lead weights. Was I dead? No, if I could feel pain, I wouldn't be dead. With that thought, my mind went white then faded into the black. Unconsciousness sweeping over me like a veil.
