The next note
It had been a few days since I had recovered the mystery box from Burley Estate. It's new home was under my bed where it was slowly gathering dust. I hadn't touched it since I put it there, shortly after Joel and I had that... eventful movie night. I also had not recieved any other notes, informing me of my next task, so I thought that maybe the little prank was over. However it wasnt.
There was a knock at my door early one morning around 7am. I opened my eyes groggily and rolled over to lay on the other side of the bed, hiding from the bright morning sun that was seeping through the curtains. Again there was another knock. God! What the hell is wrong with some people? Who gets up at 7am?! I climbed lazily out of my bed and threw on my baggy hoddie, not caring that whoever it was would see my underwear. I made my way to the door slowly and opened it. There was a medium built guy standing there wearing glasses and had his long, oily, grey hair tied into a ponytail. He was studing a note pad in his left hand and held a bouquet of red roses. He looked up and down at me then, returned his attention to the notpad.
"You Stephanie Scully?"
"Uh yes..."
He thrust the notepad and a pen towards me.
"Sign here please."
I took the pen from him and signed it. He took the notepad and pen back then thrusted the bouquet of roses towards me and I accpeted them, completely surprised. He proceeded towards the elevator.
"Wait!" I called after him. He stopped and turned around.
"What?"
"Who are these from?"
"How the hell should I know? I just deliever flowers. Check the card." He turned back around and went to the elevator.
I looked around the bouquet and managed to find the envelope with a card inside. I walked back inside and studied the envelope. Maybe this was sent from Peter. Just the thought of it made me smile widely and uncontrolably. I placed the roses on the table with the envelope and searched through the cupboards for a vase. I didn't end up finding one but I managed to find a big jug, filled it with water and placed the roses in it carefully. I sat down on the kitchen stool, opened the envelope and began reading the note inside.

Dear Caroline,
Thought I'd send you these in celebration of your first completed task. However theres still more that needs doing. I need you to find out the real names of Scarlet, Bambi and Star who all work at 'Club Legs'.
-Regards, F
P.S- You should dress up for the occasion.

I studied the note for another minute. Club legs? That sounds like a stripper joint, and Scarlet, Bambi and Star sounded like stripper names. Why the hell would he care about the names of a few strippers for? Many possible explanations started to crowd my head, none of which was very pleasant. I got up off the stool and went to find my laptop. I typed in the search engine and searched 'Club legs'. Turns out I was right, it was a stripper joint. Fantastic.
I scrolled through the website, which wasnt very detailed, and found a job vacancy ad, 'Bartender wanted'. I decided it would be good to go undercover for this task, so no suspicion would arise. Luckily I had completed a TAFE corse a few years ago for 'Responsible Handling of Alcohol', so it should be a breeze to get the job. Although I wasn't planning on keeping it after I found out the names of those girls. God knows what Peter would think of me working in a strip club.
I went to my suitcase and started rummaging through, searching for an outfit. I wasn't sure whether or not dress up professionally or like a stripper; it was a strip club after all. I decided I would meet halfway. I put on a short, black pencil skirt, a flower patterned blouse, high heels and a black hoodie, since it was still cold outside. I scribbled down the address and grabbed my handbag. I walked over to the door slowly, listening for any footsteps outside. I admit I feel like a floozy, dressed like this when it was ice cold outside. I opened the door and peeked out. No one was in the hall, so I made a mad dash towards the elevator. I got in without a hassle and as the elevator was going down, I remembered that Jessica would be down in the reception. Oh yay. She would most likely tell Joel about this.
When the elevator opened my eyes flew to Jessica. She was typing away at her computer and drinking a coffee before she looked up to see me. She looked completely unconcerned as I walked through the reception, but I could feel deep down that she was probably thinking I was a slut for dressing up like this. I held my head high. She was the least of my concerns right now. Right now I have a task to complete- as quickly as possible.
