'Morning Kaylee,' Vixen, my wolf, said.

Vixen is my only friend except for my friend Shelby. She is my savior. I'm in my 'bedroom', which is a cell in the pack house's basement. I heard Shelby's steps and smiled.

"Hey Kaylee," Shelby says.

"Hi," I say.

Shelby and Vixen are the only people I talk to.

"I brought you some food," Shelby smiled.

I smiled and she walked in. We sat on my bed and ate the food she brought. They feed me enough to keep me alive. Shelby always brings me more food.

Oh, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm Kaylee Mitchells. I was the daughter of the Beta before my mom, dad, and brother died in an attack. I'm 5' feet exactly. I'm the runt of the pack. All the girls my age are 5'5" or 5'6". I have curly brown hair and sapphire blue eyes.

Shelby's mate is the pack doctor. He is nice.

"We have to get you ready," Shelby says.

I look at her confused.

"Alpha Scott is coming today," she says.

I look at her.

"He is coming to find his mate," she says.

I nodded slowly and she got up and pulled me up. She brought me to her and William's room(her mate). She gave me a long sleeve shirt with lace at the bottom. She also gave me high waisted jean shorts. I smiled at her and then she did my hair. We then walked down and the Beta and Alpha walked up to us. Shelby growled and I hid behind her. William walked up and took Shelby in his arms. Tony (Beta) and Al (Alpha) looked me over while I was lolking at the ground.

"Good job you may not get a beating tonight," Tony chuckled.

Shelby growled. I walked over and hugged her silently crying. She rubbed my back and then we went and stood next to each other. There was a knock and Al opened it.

"Hello Alpha Scott," Al says, trying to sound nice.

"Hello Alpha Al," Scott says.

He sniffed the air.

"She's here," he says and he looked around.

His eyes landed on me and I froze.

'Mate,' Vixen says, jumping up and down.

Alpha Scott walked up to me and I hid beind Shelby.

"Mine," he growled.

Shelby stepped aside and then two fingers lifted my chin up and I got lost in his eyes.

"What's your name," he asks placing his hand on my cheek and I felt sparks.

"Kaylee, Alpha," Shelby says. "She's mute"

"Why are you mute," he asks softly.

I started getting nervous and took off to my cell. I curled into a ball and start silently crying. Vixen was whimpering. There was footsteps and I knew it was Al. He walked into my cell and picked me up by my hair. I whimpered.

"You little runt. You don't deserve a mate. You're a pathetic little girl," Al spat in my face.

He slapped me and I fell to the ground as a loud growl was heard. I looked up and saw Alpha Scott holding Al up to the wall.

"Don't you dear call my mate pathetic, " Scott growled.

He knocked Al out and then walked over to me. When he was close, I wrapped my arms around and started to cry. I felt safe in his arms. Scott picked me up and then made his way out of the basement. He started to walk towards the door and I whimpered.
"Are you okay princess," he asks.

I pointed to Shelby and Will.

"Do you want them to come," Scott asks.

I nodded. Scott looked at them.

"What are your ranks," he asks.

"I'm one of the pack doctor's," Will says. "She's my mate"

Scott nodded.

"Get your things," he says.

'Thank you,' I mindlink Scott.

'You're welcome sweetheart,' Scott says.

I smile and then lay my head on his shoulder. Shelby and Will come down soon after and smile. I shivered when we walk outside. Scott takes his hoodie off and places it over my small frame. I smiled. He walked to a few cars. Shelby and William got in the backseat. Scott placed me in the front seat. He got in the driver seat. I curled into the seat and his hoodie. I heard a click and saw he had put my seat belt on.(Scott's truck)

I fell asleep on the ride to wherever we were going. I was gently shoken awake.

"Kaylee princess its time to get up," Scott's gently voice said.

I uncurled from his hoodie and sat up. He undid my seat belt and got out. He opened my door and helped me out as soon as I did pain erupted through my body. It was from the 9 years of abuse.

"Kaylee what's wrong," Scott's voice sounded far away.

Black dots started to block my vison and soon darkness.
