21 ~ French Fry Jenga
///
"Fucking hell, I'm sick of this shit!" You exclaimed after cleaning up a huge mess that some young, annoying teenagers left.
A mountain of chips and leftover bits of burger, every condiment that you had in the diner as well as salt, pepper and you're almost positive you saw some paprika sprinkled in areas. And let's not forget the torn up tissue paper that was sprinkled around the edges of their creation.
And of course, you were left to clean it up. It may seem like an exaggeration on your part but when you're doing this day in and day out, it gets tiring and boring very fast.
"By the cheery sound to your voice I'd say that you just adore your job" Hongjoon sniggered and you looked over to him with annoyed expression stretched across your face.
"If you don't shut that sarcastic ass up you will be drop kicked to Alaska" you glared at him and he put his hands up defensively with a small mischievous chuckle.
"You're funny when you're grumpy" Hongjoon comments as you make your way back to the counter from the messy, now clean, table.
"I'm glad my distress amuses you" you deadpanned.
"Just slightly" he joked and you smiled at him slightly before returning to a different job. "So tell me what's been happening with you" Hongjoon says while slurping on his second strawberry milkshake.
"Nothing really, I'm bored a lot of the time" you admit to him.
"So why don't you go out with some friends, or better yet your boyfriend" he wiggles his eyebrows. He knew that you and Jimin were going through stuff but it wasn't confirmed to him wether the both of you were split or not. He had a hunch that the both of you split, but this was going to be how he confirmed it.
You looked at him with straight face and breathed out heavily. You don't like these sort of situations.
And by that I mean pity situations.
You hated people who give you pity. You already don't feel great and now you have someone else piling on the feeling, telling you how sad they feel for you.
And 99% of the time you just want to politely ask them to fuck off.
But you don't.
You keep your self composed and placed a smile on your face.
"Me and Jimin aren't together anymore" you spoke softly.
"Yeah, I kinda had thought so" he admitted and you nodded.
There was an awkward silence that you really wanted to break. "But I'm fine, I'm dealing with it and I would much prefer it we changed the subject" you told him and he smiled and continued to drink his shake.
"Wanna game of french fry jenga?" He quirks an eyebrow with a suggestive smile.

Jimin is about to put his fist through a wall.
He can't think straight, his thoughts flooded with confusion and hurt.
Hearing how Sowon and Chaerin spoke about you and how Sowon and to tell you to not stay in the dorm over Christmas.
You had to be convinced to do so.
Otherwise you would've spent the entirety of that holiday in a freezing cold building with no one inside it but you.
He was happy to hear that Sowon did successfully manage to direct you out of that idea, but you didn't even go back to the apartment that you both used to share.
Instead, you stayed at a place that caused you hurt and pain. It was full of nothing but bad memories and yet you decided to go there instead of a place that had sweet and precious memories.
He couldn't wrap his head around the logic of that decision and it was annoying the hell out of him.
He tried to dance the frustration out of him. Trying to hit every beat harder than the next and he's been like this for the past two hours without stop.
It was only when Jungkook walked into the studio that he had seen how exhausted Jimin was.
He was drenched in sweat, he looked so tired and the bags under his eyes displayed that perfectly. But most importantly, he looked in pain.
He squinted whenever he had to do detailed moves with his hands. His arm is just out of a cast and he's putting too much work onto the almost healed injury.
He also looked hurt in his eyes, like he was on the verge of tears that could fall at anytime now.
Jungkook turned off the music and ran swiftly over to him, forcing him into a hug. Jimin tried to break the embrace a few times, knowing that if he caved into his emotions he would surely cry, but after a few moments he realized that Jungkook wasn't going to release him and then he gave up with fighting the feeling that was overpowering him.
"She hates me" he said and Jungkook shook his head.
"No she doesn't Jimin, you know she doesn't" he said encouragingly.
"No she does, she wouldn't even stay at our apartment, she decided to stay in a place where a horrid man abused her for years. She chose that place over the one we shared together, she must thing I'm so horrible and she's right! I was horrible to her" he admitted with a guilt ridden voice.
"There might be another explanation for it, don't go running to conclusions" Jungkook told him.
"Like what?"
"Well Maybe she thought that you mightn't want her there because you bought the place so you can just as easily kick her out?" Jungkook said and Jimin's eyes widened.
"Do you think she thought I'd do that? I would never ever do that to her"
That was just a superb example Jungkook, now you've just made it worse, Jungkook thought to himself.
"No, no, of course she wouldn't think that. I'm just showing you that your answer mightn't be word for word perfect, she'd have her own reasons" he tried to explain.
Jimin remained silent.
"Yeah I guess. Sorry about this Jungkook, but I think I'm just going to go home, I've had enough practice for today" he spoke softly and Jungkook nodded in understanding.
"Yeah 'course" he smiled gently as Jimin got his stuff together in his bag and began to walk out. "Oh and Jimin?"
Said man turned toward him.
"She'll come around, just give her time" he encouraged and Jimin gave a slight nod before leaving.

"Well as much as I love our conversation topics, I have to go now. I'm starting work experience tomorrow and I want to get a good nights rest before" he explained counting the money he needs to pay before handing it to you.
"Work experience? Where?"
"At the mental clinic beside the hospital" he said as you cashed the money into the register before getting the change for him.
"Ohh we have a smarty pants in the building" you chuckle. "What are you doing there?"
"Well as part of my nursing degree, I have to do work as a caregiver with whoever is in need" he explained. "So tomorrow I'll be assigned to someone and I'll just be an extra helping friend for a little while" he smiled at the thought. "But anyways, I have to get going. Thanks for the milkshakes and the Jenga game" he said as he stood up and walked towards the exit.
"Well have fun" you told him and he waved and you returned the gesture.
It was less than fifteen minutes till closing time. Sometimes the diner is open till two or three am as people go out to parties and are hungry after it, but no one goes out on a Tuesday
You weren't bothered to wait around for another - checking your phone - thirteen minutes. So you decided to close up now.
You told Yugyeom what you were planning on doing and he nearly yelped with joy.
You had already mopped the floors and Hongjoon helped you to wipe down the tables, so you only had the bare minimum left to do.
You went outside - into the cold, misty rain-to the front of the building to bring in the new specials board that the owner of "grub n' stuff" decided he wanted.
It was apparently an "easy fold up" type of board, but it wasn't.
(This is the kind of idea I was going for lol)
You held your hands over your head to try keep your hair dry from the mist as you ran out to attempt to fold up the specials board.
Note the word attempt.

Jimin was walking back to his dorm after playing games at the arcade for what seems like hours to try and distracted himself.
As he was walking, he decided to go on a different route. A route that just so happened to be passing a familiar diner along the way.
Jimin wasn't thinking straight, that was clear.
His head was spinning every which way and he needed everything to stop.
And you're the only person he could think of to stop it all. So he walked on the route he chose and put his hood up so that his hair wouldn't get wet from the misty rain.
As he passed by the diner, he stayed in the near distance and waited for the diner to close so that he could see you lock up to go home.
He didn't want to go up to you, speak to you or even want you to see him. He just wanted to witness you.
It may seem weird, but he just needed that tiny glimpse of you. He knew that if he had anymore than a glimpse he would do something stupid and make matters worse.
You needed space and Jimin was willing to do anything to make you receive what you desired.
Even if that meant he could only see you at a distance without you knowing, then so be it.
He checked his phone and so that it was thirteen minutes until your closing time and he then went to answer a text from Jungkook.
As he was doing so he heard a door open, and out came a stunning girl in a bright yellow waitress outfit. She shielded the top of her head with her hands as she jogged over to a small menu-type board.
She took her hands down from the top of her head and tried to get the hinges at the sides to close up, but she was doing this unsuccessfully.
She was beginning to get frustrated, he could hear her annoyed huffs and grunts from where he was and he was about to run over and help her, or just suggest that she brings the board inside and she can try to fold it up as it has to be stored inside anyways.
But just as he was about to do that, Yugyeom opened the door and immediately laughed at her.
"What are you doing? You look like an idiot trying to fold that up out in the rain" he continued to laugh.
"I can't do it!" She groaned.
And there it was, your oh so angelic voice.
Even when you groaned in annoyance, it was heavenly to him.
Yugyeom just made one slight adjustment and the two boards closed together and he began to carry it inside.
"How the hell did you-"
"I'll tell you when we are inside, come on it's freezing!" He spoke and rushed inside.
You just stood there for a moment or two, you looked up at the sky and felt the droplets hit your face as you took a deep breath and then you made your way inside.
You felt safe for a moment, felt comforted, and you have no idea why.
Once the both of you were safely inside, Jimin decided to get going, otherwise he would've waited for you to finish work and then he would've ended up following you home like a stalker.
He walked along in the cold, dark evening and sighed. He felt immediately more relaxed after just seeing you for a mere 40 seconds and hearing you speak two sentences.
He hasn't felt this calm, relaxed and at peace in weeks.
The wonders you work on Park Jimin will forever be a mystery to him.
