Can't believe I'm over twenty chapters. Ngl, I thought this would be like 15 chapters long lol.
But I also thought that when I began writing the first book and here we are with it finished at 60. Oopsie.

"How was your break?" You said with a small huff as you threw your bag on your bed.
You were finally back to uni, after an agonisingly slow Christmas break. You've just arrived at your dorm to find Sowon and Chaerin already inside.
They gave you a quick hug and welcomed you back.
After throwing your bag, that you brought home, onto your bed you collapsed onto the soft, cushioned material of your mattress. You curled up and took a deep breath, missing the comfort of this bed.
It's funny how you missed your university bed. Usually college kids miss their bed at home.
"Did you enjoy Christmas y/n? I'm sure you got loads of nice presents" Chaerin asked.
Sowon looked up straight away. She didn't tell Chaerin about your family status and now she feels so guilty that her beloved girlfriend is being long it up unknown's to her.
You looked over to Sowon and could see her sorrow filled eyes.
"Ah- yeah it was great" you answered, hoping that would prevent any follow up questions.
"You haven't told me what you got?" She reminds you.
Sowon just grabs Chaerin's hand and escorts her out of the dorm.
"Come on, I need something to eat" She told Chaerin and dragged her away from the dorm.
You chuckled to yourself, shaking your head afterwards.
It was funny how people go and male this big deal out of things. Sure you spent Christmas alone and you didn't celebrate the traditional way with gifts, but that was just how it was.
It could've been a lot worse.
You could've been really sick, or perhaps worse.
So when people make this big deal over avoiding the matter it makes no sense to you. This was just your normal day to day life, it was nothing to avoid from you incase you might be sensitive or emotional over the circumstance.
But other people don't know that because they don't have to live through it, they don't experience what you experienced.
You looked around your room and sighed at the thought that you have to pack away all your stuff that you took away for the holidays.
After a lot of procrastinating, you ended up packing everything away neatly. You found yourself thinking that maybe you should get some food after all your work.
You walked out of your apartment after putting a hoodie on. You kept the hood up as you walked as it provided warmth as well as a sort of hiding spot.
If someone were to spot you, you could simply just lower your head and play it off.
It was quite clear that you were continuing to avoid a certain person even after the holidays apart. Even though during the two weeks off your mind was constantly showing images of him in your mind like a film.
It was getting tougher and tougher.
You ended walking into a cheap chip shop and sitting down by yourself towards the back.
After a few minutes, a familiar face came into view.
"Jackson?"
The boy standing before you smiled at your surprised expression.
"Hello" he answered cheerfully.
"You work here now?" You asked and he nodded.
"This is the only place that would take me" he replied. "Unfortunately, my time making cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies at lava java are over" he said with a saddened tone in his voice.
"Well, at least you're not waitressing in a crusty diner with and obnoxiously bright yellow uniform that is incredibly short, right?" You we're trying to show him that your situation was bad just like his.
"I would be incredibly weirded out just at the thought of that situation being applied to me right now" he chuckled. "But anyways, it's not too bad. This is my third shift here and it doesn't seem to be too bad" he shrugged.
"Well at least there's a positive" you smile weakly.
Jackson then wrote down what you wanted to eat and served you that food a little while later. He's been busy ever since, running in and out of the kitchen, greeting customers and charging them for their meals.
As you were snacking on your food you scrolled through your phone and came across an adorable picture.

You sighed and put your phone on the table before just staring off into the distance, thinking about how happy you were that your friend was in a good place in her life, but also jealous that you weren't in the same state as her.
Happily in love is what Alex was.
Sadly in love is what you were.
Then you were mad at yourself for being jealous of Alex, what type of a friend is jealous of the other? But you couldn't help the feeling from taking over your emotions.
You decided that you had enough of moping around, you had to get out and do something to distract yourself.
You got up from your seat and walked toward Jackson who was behind the counter working hard as per usual.
You gave Jackson the exact amount of money before flashing him a quick smile and leaving.
"Bye Jackson" your waved.
"See you y/n" he smiled back.
His whole mood dropped in seconds after hearing the door close. The truth is he hated his new job.
Like really hated it.
But somehow, once he saw you, everything brightened. He was giving the correct order to the customers, there was a skip in his step as he walked.
Now he was slouched over the counter and counting the money incorrectly.
It was like when you were around everything just worked.
And now that you were gone, everything was a dysfunctional mess.

Jimin really hated the feeling of leaving his mother at home to return to a dreary and lonely dorm room.
He had no where to go during the day so he was longing to go to dance practice so he could meet with Jungkook and some sort of human interaction.
He arrived quite early to the dorm and he looked at the same walls for what seemed like ages not knowing what to do with himself.
And finally after being bored to death, he decided to go to the dance practice room early and just rehearse to kill time as well as practice for the big competition coming up and plus he only got the cast taken off his hand three days ago and he wants to try getting used to dancing again with it.
The dance studio would be opening soon, so he said he would just wait outside for the short while it was closed until they opened it.
He grasped the handle of his duffle bag and walked toward his destination, walking an abnormally slow pace past one door in particular as he usually does.
He makes his way out of the building and as he does so, he gets a text from his mother about something not working on her phone. He sits down on a nearby bench, (there were two benches back to back and he sat on one), to call her so that he can try talk to her about it.
As he was talking to his mother, telling her to shut down the phone completely and turn it on again, a pair of girls sat down on the bench behind him, but he took no notice to them and they took no notice to him.
"Babe you have to be careful about what you say about her, she's had a really tough life growing up" one of the girls spoke.
"But I had no idea! You just let me babble on about dumb shit that made me look bad"
Jiyeon continued to talk to Jimin on the phone, asking him questions like "what's that going to do? That seems pointless" and so on. Jimin noticed the two presences behind him but didn't turn to see who it was, just thinking that it was two random girls.
"Mom, I promise it will work. It happens all the time to my phone" he sighed as the girls continue to chitter behind him.
Jiyeon just sighs and agrees to do it before hanging up. Jimin just sighs and puts his head in his hands.
Some days are better than others, and today was one of the more tiring ones.
"Look just don't mention anything happy-family related around her she might be sensitive" one of the girls say.
"Does she get triggered by it?" The other asked.
"Well I've never seen her get triggered by it, but that doesn't mean that she can't be triggered by something. Plus just bringing it up general probably sucks for her to think about" the first girl replied.
Jimin felt bad for ease dropping, but he didn't want to move just yet. He checked the time on his phone and the dance studio doesn't open for another few minutes anyway.
"I guess" the girl sighed. "I just can't imagine how hard Christmas must've been for her, she was all alone"
"At least she actually went home, it took me forever to convince her to even leave the dorm for Christmas. But apparently she went to her childhood home, not the one she lived in before she came to university" she explained with sadness edged into her tone.
He began to feel bad for listening in as t is a personal subject so Jimin decided to just get up and make a move toward the studio.
"But y/n is a tough cookie, she doesn't break easily for anyone. If she survived the same amount of hurt that we would feel in a life time, then she will survive this" the first girl finished and put a supportive hand on the girls shoulder.
Jimin's eyes opened wide as he stood up, he glanced behind him and saw that it was Sowon who was talking this whole time and he guessed it was Chaerin with her. Both Sowon and Jimin made eye contact and her mouth fell agape.
Jimin just hurriedly took his bag and left for dance practice, hearing the voice saying the same word over and over again in hushed tones.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit"
And those words describe how Jimin was feeling at the moment to a tee.

"My dearest y/n!" Yugyeom jokes as you walk in the door of the diner. "You ready to be back in uniform?" He asked sarcastically, knowing you hate your uniform and your job in general.
"Oh, I'm practically bouncing of the walls" you said tiredly as you passed him to go into the changing room.
The changing room that is the size of a storage closet. That'd probably because it was a storage closet before some worker complained of not having somewhere to change in and out of their uniform for work.
You came out a few minutes later and sighed heavily. "Back to the grind I guess"
You wanted an easy enough job to start the shift so you decided to refill the ketchup and mustard bottles.
And it was as you were doing that, that a familiar face entered the diner.
"Hey y/n"
You looked up and immediately smiled. "Hello Hongjoon, How was your break?" You asked as he sat down on one of the stools at the counter.
"Uneventful, me and my cousins just sat around and did nothing but it was actually quite fun" he smiled. "And you?"
Mine was just like yours, uneventful I sat around and did nothing. Except with me, I was all alone and it was not fun. At. All.
"It was fine I guess" you played it off. "I'm happy I'm back into a routine again" you told him and he nodded.
"That's understandable. Sitting around and doing nothing gets boring after awhile" he admits and you nod your head.
"So...strawberry milkshake I'm guessing?" You ask and me nods immediately with a knowing smile.
