11 ~ Cold Coffee
This is all over the place and boring.
I'm so sorry :(
///
You were scrolling through Instagram on your phone in the hospital cafeteria as you were waiting for the doctors to be finished running tests on Jimin.
You were looking back on pictures you posted a while ago, noting how happy you were.

You went through both yours and Jimin's profiles, remembering all the good times that you both had.
You then dropped your phone down on the table and sighed, feeling your eyes brim with tears for a reason that's unknown to you.
Lets just say being emotional sucked.
You looked down at the table seeing your phone that you dropped and a small coffee cup.
No sugar or milk.
It was as bitter as you were feeling.
You looked over at two women sitting down at the table on the far side of the nearly-empty cafeteria.
They had just gotten their breakfast and you were eying their food.
You hadn't eaten in three, going on four, days and in the days prior to that you may have eaten, but it really wasn't a lot.
Your stomach rumbles in agony, asking and begging for food.
But your appetite wasn't hungry in the slightest and it pushed all those thoughts of hunger away.
You decided to go back up to Jimin's room again and hopefully it would be empty by Jimin going for X-rays or something.
And lucky for you, after you gathered your things and made your way to the room, it was in fact empty.
You sighed and placed your coat, phone and your now cold coffee next to or on the couch.
You then went to the bed and fixed the sheets a little and as you did so, the door unlocked.
"So in that case you're going to have to rest a lot- oh hello" the doctor said cheerfully as you turned around with the corner of the blanket in one hand.
Jimin was surprised to see the sight in front of him.
And you were surprised to find his arm in a cast.
"Well you're definitely going to take great care of him from what I see, you're already cleaning up after him!" The doctor laughed.
"So would it be alright if I take you outside for a moment to discuss some things about what his daily routine has to be like over the next while?" The doctor asked.
You placed the blanket back down on the bed and nodded while walking out the door following the doctor.
The doctor closed the door after you.
"So you obviously have to make sure he doesn't do any heavy lifting or do any work really due to the cast in his hand" he began and you nodded. "If you could get a pillow with a soft consistency incase he turns onto the side of his face that has stitches during the night" he checked off his list.
You were mentally taking note of every word he said.
"And make sure he doesn't drink any alcohol for a good amount of time, give his liver a break" he then glanced from his checklist up to you. "And I'm guessing you know about his little addiction" he said knowingly.
"Yeah" you said with a raspy voice so you coughed gently. "Does he know that I know?" You asked.
"Well I didn't tell him anything, so unless someone else did" he shrugged.
No one knew that you found out that Jimin smoked. Well no one bar Alex who you told and she wouldn't tell anyone. So then he mustn't know that you're fully aware of what he's doing.
"All I'm going to say is to try and get him off them before he gets any worse, not that it's not bad already because it is" he said truthfully. "Otherwise we will be bringing him back here soon for some reason or another"
You nodded timidly.
"I will leave his prescription medicine that he must get down at the front desk" he said seeing your understanding facial expression.
"Okay, thank you for everything" you bowed your head.
"Don't worry about it, it's my job" he chuckled, leaving you so he could get back to work.
You opened the door to the hospital room and Jimin sat timidly on the bed. You glanced at him but then focused your attention back on getting your coat, phone and cold coffee from the table and couch.
You walked out of the room after getting your things and Jimin followed behind you, you could hear his footsteps.
You walked all the way down the hallway and pressed the button for the elevator. Jimin stopped beside you, analysing his new cast.
And he continued to do so on the elevator down to the ground floor too.
You walked as far as the front desk near the exit and you got the attention of a woman working there.
"Hi, I need to take prescription of medicine for Mr. Park Jimin" you spoke softly.
The woman then nodded, typing words on her computer and then walking to collect a sheet from the printer.
"Just give this into your local pharmacy and they'll get everything ready, you just have to pay" she explained and you nodded.
You took the paper politely and headed outside.
It was awkward, like, really awkward.
You turned down a street that was off-route from your dorm building.
"Where-"
"We are going to get a pillow for you" you deadpanned.
Jimin tilted his head in confusion.
"But I don't need a pillow"
"The doctor said you do in case you roll onto the side of your face with the stitches" you answered.
"That's so dumb, I'll be fine we don't need to buy that"
"Well I'm going by what the doctor said and to be frank, I believe what he says more than you at the moment" you snapped and he tilted his head down.
And the walk was yet again silent.
You past a pharmacy on your way to get a pillow and decided to go and get Jimin's prescription while you were there.
Jimin saw your plan and moved ahead to hold the door open for you.
You didn't acknowledge it, just walked to the counter and handed the prescription to the woman there. You also asked if they have any pillows and she said she would check the back which is a good sign.
She walked to collect all the items and yet again, you and Jimin were left alone.
Luckily for you, your phone began to ring.
You took it out and checked the caller ID, noting that it was Jackson.
You answered.
"Hello" you sighed into the phone.
"Well you're cheery" he said sarcastically. "I'm guessing you forgot?"
"Forgot what-" you paused and gasped. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry I completely forgot" you slapped your palm against your forehead as you did so.
You were supposed to go to breakfast with Jackson.
"Don't worry about it" he chuckled.
"-no! I feel awful" you pulled at your hair slightly. You turned and found Jimin looking at you from a short distance away, he was wondering what had happened.
"I'm so sorry, something just came up" you explained. "But come to the diner later on, there's no way I can forget to be there" you said.
"Y/n if you don't want to it's okay"
"No I do, I would love to catch up with you. We used to be really good friends, I miss that" you explained.
"Okay I'll see you later then"
"Perfect, Bye" you answered and hung up.
"Here is the prescription and I found one pillow that was left, so you're lucky. We sell them to the hospital so you never know when they'll want one" she smiled. "That will be one hundred and twenty four please" your eyes widened momentarily.
Jimin would've jumped in and paid, but he didn't have his wallet as Jungkook took it off him while he was drunk incase he lost it. So instead he came up with something else.
"I can come back to you and pay for it tomorrow" he offered and you shook your head.
"No, I should have enough on my card" you said, remembering you put money into the card on your last payday.
She did the transaction and the card went through luckily. There is definitely very, very little left on it.
Jimin took the bags of pain medication for various areas and the pillow as well as whatever else was on that prescription.
And you began to walk back to the dorms.
With a cold coffee in hand.
Again in sheer silence.
With you trying to bite back every emotion that you've kept in for hours now.
And Jimin drowning in his own guilt.
///
You entered your dorm first as you wanted to leave you belongings there before brining Jimin back to his dorm and trying to sort out his medication.
You began to take off your coat and as you were doing so, Jimin glanced around the room, noting various things.
That is until he noted the small stack of paper with neat, black pen marks on it. He peered over at the paper, his eyes remembering seeing those pages before.
And that's when it clicked.
It was your speech of course!
He began to read it as you plugged in your phone.
He scanned it quickly curious as to what he's going to hear you talk about soon enough.
He knew that you wanted to keep it a secret but couldn't resist his temptation.
His heart clenched seeing how the first page of many was in reference to him. He glanced up to the corner of the page after seeing a mark there from the corner of his eye.
21 of November.
Jimin took out his phone to check the date, thinking that might be sooner than he thinks.
And thats when he sees it.
22nd of November.
And as if his limit of guilt hasn't been pushed far enough, this really was about to push him over the edge.
You were looking at a text from Alex when Jimin turned to look at you.
"H-how was it?" He asked.
You turned your head to see what he was talking in reference to.
You saw his fingers grazing the pages of you speech.
"It was fine" you said taking the speech and putting it in the bin, where you put it yesterday but Alex took it back out again.
"Oh, that's good" he said eyeing the pages you had written about him in the trash.
He didn't even get to finish.
"Oh yeah, spectacular" you sighed. "Okay let's go to your dorm" you said and you both made your way to Jimin's dorm.
That would definitely not be the last time they spoke about that speech.
You brought the medicine and your cold coffee.
You opened the door and laid the prescription on a nearby table and began to sort them and read when and how often he has to take each one.
He sat down on his bed, immediately feeling uncomfortable.
He doesn't like to sit on the bed alone while your somewhere else in the room rather than his arms.
You stood up and walked over to him, handing him the right amount of each medication as well as your coffee.
"Take these and drink this to help swallow them" you instructed and he nodded.
He did as told and went to take a swig of the cold coffee. His face scrunched up afterwards.
And being completely honest, the thing he was most surprised about was the fact that it was coffee not tea.
"Thank you" he coughed and you nodded.
You then proceeded to grab some spare blankets that he had in case it got cold in his dorm and walked to the side of the room that should have room for a dorm mate but Jimin was lucky enough to have the whole place to himself so that side has a couch and tv.
You moved the couch cushion to use as a pillow and you lay down and put the blanket on top of you, facing away from Jimin.
Jimin looked confused as to why you were , one, going to bed at eight in the morning and two, why would you sleep on the couch.
"Why are you going to sleep now?" He asked quietly.
"Because some of us weren't conked out on a hospital bed all night. We were up crying until like two then we went to a hospital and didn't get to a couch to sleep on till around four or five in the morning and then wake up at six. And might I remind you that these people have to work later on" you seethed, feeling like bursting into tears.
He wanted to smack himself on the forehead.
He felt like a dumbass.
In his defense, he had a bad concussion.
"R-right, well at least sleep on the bed" he said and you just shook your head.
You were being your normal stubborn self.
You simply just snuggled closer to the couch cushion and fell asleep.
And Jimin was left wishing that it was him you were snuggling up to.
