"Sorry for the wait" you apologized, setting the plates on the table in front of the customers.
They were a small family.
The parents gave you a look which looked a tad bit annoyed, but what could you do? You were only a waitress, you didn't make the food.
"How about a complementary dessert on the house for the inconvenience?" You offered and the little girl and her twin brother sparked with joy and began nodding.
You smiled and wrote down their order before heading back to the kitchen to make their ice cream sundaes.
"Yugyeom you seriously need to start getting orders out quicker" you told him while scooping the ice cream into the sundae glasses.
He turned to you biting his lip innocently. "I'm trying y/n, I'm scared I'll mess it up though"
You began to put the sauce on the ice cream. "Who cares, this is a diner on the outskirts of a college. I'm pretty sure people don't expect that much from us" you said, hoping to take less stress off of him.
"Easy for you to say! You've been a waitress for like three years! You know what you're doing" he pouted.
You smiled and shook your head before putting the ice creams in the fridge until the family were finished their meals.
Going to college was always a dream for you and two months ago, that dream became a reality.
Your last few months of high school were pretty intense. Not only did you have to study for your exams, but you also had to teach Jimin eight months of work.
He just barley passed, but that was enough for him to attend college with you and boy did you celebrate that night.
But now you both moved into an on-campus accommodation apartment building.
Jiyun, Jimin's mother, had to pull a few strings so that you and Jimin could live in the same building, which you both are still thanking her for to this day, but unfortunately you couldn't live in the same apartment due to rules and regulations.
Basically, they didn't want any college dropouts due to pregnancies.
But you hold your own. You pay your own bills and rent .
Unfortunately, you did have to leave your previous job at the cafe, that you adored and now you work at a 60's diner called "Grub N' Stuff" As if the name wasn't bad enough, you have to wear an obnoxious bright yellow coloured 60's waitress uniform as well.
The diner was not exactly five star worthy, but you got a meal for a good enough price.
The diner wasn't too crowded during the day, most of its income came in on the night shifts when drunk imbeciles come in after a houseparty.
You were the one who worked the night shifts, which was the worst part of your job.
You went over to a group of three, who were as described above, they were pretty much drunk off their heads and they reeked of god knows what. You walked over in your short yellow uniform and began cleaning up as they mumbled their drunken slurs to one another.
"Hey baby" one of them winked at you.
You just disregarded the gesture and brought the plates and glasses back to the kitchen before returning with their bill.
As you placed the receipt on the little tray provided on the table the man from before grabbed your wrist.
"Why ain't you replying baby?" He said lowly.
"Sir, please let go" you said in a monotone voice, showing little to no expression.
He just rolled his eyes and stood up, throwing cash on the table and walking out, his friends doing the same and following him out.
You sighed a breath of relief.
At least he didn't cause too much trouble, you thought while putting the cash in the register.
///
The minute hand on your watch struck past twelve. Now telling you that it was four am.
The diner was now clean and Yugyeom cleaned the kitchen before meeting you out front.
"See you later on today I guess" he chuckled before you both parted ways.
You walked up what seemed to be fifteen flights of stairs, when in reality it was seven, but still that's a lot.
You put your keys in the door and jiggled them around until the door unlocked and you were welcomed with a dark room.
You sighed and closed the door behind you while taking the bun out of your hair.
You dropped you bag at the door and made your way to your side of the dorm.
Your dorm had a divider down the middle which was nice for privacy.
You were met with a figure lying in bed.
I'm pretty sure we can all guess who it was.
You smiled sweetly at the sight.
You kicked off your white pumps and took off your uniform before changing into something a bit more comfy.
You made your way towards the bed and slid under the covers before the figure in the bed turned around squinted his eyes open a bit before smiling gleefully.
He opened his arms and you crawled towards the radiating warmth from his chest. He encompassed his arms around you and kissed your hairline.
"Hello" you whispered softly.
"Hey" he nuzzled his nose against you. "How's my muffin?" He asked before you answered sweetly and then the both of you proceeded to doze off into a deep sleep.
///
You were woken up from your slumber due to the front door closing. You sighed and rubbed your eyes.
The door opened and Jimin walked in. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to wake you" he said awkwardly dropping his duffel bag on the bed and walking towards you to peck your lips.
"No, no it's okay. I should've probably started gettting up soon anyways" you say, your eyes still squinting slightly.
Your roommate was gone to her classes. She was sweet, but you don't see her all that often due to your busy schedule.
It really is annoying the fact that you don't live with Jimin, but it's not all that bad because he lives in the dorm a few doors down from yours. Plus he likes to stay over at yours quite often, like last night for example. And your roommate doesn't really seem to notice Jimin coming and going.
"How was class?" You ask as he sits down on the bed.
Jimin told you a few months back that his dream when he was younger was to be a dancer.

Flashback to Book 1, chapter 19 - 1:100
As you were walking through the park Jimin took your hand intertwined your fingers.
"Hey I never asked you..." you started gaining Jimin's attention. "What was your dream job?"
"You won't laugh?" He asked.
"I promise I won't" you smiled.
"I wanted to be a dancer" he said while looking at his feet.
"Why would I laugh at that?" You asked confused.
"Well not that many boys dance, and most of the time they get made fun of for doing it" he smiled awkwardly.
End of flashback.
•••
And so, that's exactly what he did. Jimin is now studying contemporary dance and to say he's amazing would be an understatement.
You on the other hand were studying to be a journalist and with that you had to study English literature amount others.
You got involved in your school paper in the last few months of the school year after the kid that usually does it moved last minute and it turns out that you loved it.
"Not as bad as yesterday" he said light heartedly to your question.
"What time is it?" You murmured.
"Nearly noon" he said after checking his phone.
You nodded lightly before moving to stand up to get ready for your classes that started at one.
"How was work last night?" Jimin asked as you changed.
"Long and tiring" you smiled weakly. "Same as usual"
"Hey I was thinking" Jimin began. "My professor suggested that I join this group of dancers, they have a club of new upcoming members for contemporary dance" he said watching you brush your hair as you sat on the bed.
"And?" You asked.
"And I was wondering if it would be okay if I accepted his offer. It would look really good on paperwork and it brings up my final grade. Plus it pays a little" he said and you put down the brush and turned your head to face him.
"Jimin you don't have to ask me permission, it's your life it's up to you. I'll support you with whatever decision you make" you say kindly.
Jimin shook his head with a polite smile.
"I know you would muffin, that's not why I'm asking" he said while walking over and crouching down in front of you. "It's just we barley see each other as it is and I feel like this will take even more time way from the little amount we have" he admitted.
You smiled fondly at his words. "I know chim, but we can work it out. I mean this is going towards your exams so why not?" You enthuse while smiling. "It's not like we haven't been through worse"
"You're right" he said standing up a little and nuzzling his nose against yours.
"Now I have to make myself some breakfast" you stretch as Jimin began to tickle you.

As you were walking to your first lecture of the day, you past the sports lecture halls.
A class must have just finished as a flood of people began leaving the building as you were walking by.
You just shook your head and continued walking.
"Excuse me!" A male voice called and you turned your head to see what the commotion was all about, but that was when you saw a guy trying to get your attention.
"Sorry to stop you" he smiled awkwardly.
"That's okay, can I help you?" You asked politely.
"I'm just here to apologize for my friends behavior last night" he said, fixing his shirt.
"What do you mean?" You ask confused.
"I'm part of the group that was at the diner at like three am yesterday and I just want to say that my friends behavior was unacceptable" he said with guilt in his voice.
"Oh please, your friend wasn't bad compared to what people usually say. And it's not your job to come and apologize for him when you did nothing wrong" you explain with a kind smile. "But thank you for doing it anyways, it was very sweet of you"
"Oh it's no problem really" he blushed and you near chuckled at the sight.
"Well its best that I head to class now, but thank you for doing that" you say, bidding him a short goodbye which he returned.
You then continued your way to class, your day that bit better due to that kind guy.

"Yugyeom, I really need order twelve!" You hollered.
"It's coming!" He snapped back.
Your eyes widened and you put your hands up in defense. "You'd swear he's on his period" you murmur.
"I can hear you, you know" yugyeom squinted, passing the plates toward you.
"Thank you" you chirped, putting the plates on the tray and walking over to the table and placing it down in front of the customers.
You casually walked back to get yourself a glass of water.
And then you chugged it.
"Geez you know how to drink" a voice spoke, you turned to see the guy who you met early today. He was sitting on one of those seats that are at the counter where the register is.
"Oh hi - eh" you said, waiting for him to say his name.
"I'm Hongjoon" he said politely.
"Well Hongjoon, I was thirsty" you smiled awkwardly. "Is there anything I can get you?" You asked, taking your notepad out of your apron.
"Just a strawberry milkshake" he said with a grin.
You nodded and went away to make it. During this time, Yugyeom came out of the kitchen as he was bored and there wasn't any outstanding orders that he had to complete.
So he came out and sat on the counter and his gazed went around the room and landed on Hongjoon who was sitting a good few seats down from where Yugyeom was on the counter.
You came back with the milkshake and placed it in front of Hongjoon. You then made your way over to where Yugyeom was sitting.
"The fact that I can't even bend down in this uniform without flashing my underwear disgusts me" you sigh with an annoyed tone as you wipe down your tray.
"What did our boss say last time you asked about it?" He asked.
"He said that it needs to be short, saying and I quote "the shorter the better" what a freak" you roll your eyes.
"He's definitely a pedophile" his face twists in disgust and you nod in agreement.
You walked over to where Hongjoon was slurping his shake and began to refill the straws into their container.
They were paper straws, by the way.
"Did you come over to keep me company?" Hongjoon asked, sipping through his straw.
"No, I came to refil the straws" you state.
"Pity" he pouts and you chuckle and walk into the kitchen.
Yugyeom then slides down the counter toward him.
"Hey, just saying she's in a really serious relationship. So if I were you I would just leave her alone" he said and Hongjoon looked toward him.
"How serious are we talking?" Hongjoon quirked his eyebrow.
Yugyeom scoffed.
"As serious as to say I love him with every fiber I have in my body" you say after revealing yourself from the kitchen doors.
Both the boys jump, not seeing you before.
"Told you" Yugyeom murmured in a high pitch tone.
"Oh sorry, I had no idea" Hongjoon bows his head to you lightly.
"Oh that's okay. I'm just so irresistible" you joke, flipping hair that wasn't on your shoulder away.
Your hair was tied up for health and safety reasons.
"So if you don't mind me asking, who is he or she?" He asked curiously, still slightly embarrassed from before.
"His name is Park Jimin" you said, beginning to fill the salt shaker.
His eyebrows knitted in confusion.
"Wait wasn't he the guy who's dad was put in prison for like abusing his wife and shit?" He asked slurping the cream in his shake.
You sigh and close your eyes momentarily before turning to answer him. "Yes, he is"
"Wouldn't you be kinda creeped out?"
"No, Jimin isn't like his father" you breathed annoyed.
"Okay, I believe you" he said and if followed with an awkward silence.
You then went over and tried to see was the register balanced from the first portion of that day.
That is until the diner doors swung open.
"Hey muffin" Jimin greeted.
You jumped up in excitement and ran around the long counter to go and give him a hug.
He picked you off the floor, leaning backwards and pecked your lips.
"Thank god you're here" you whispered, but Jimin didn't seem to hear it.
"You really do look adorable in your uniform" he said sweetly as you walked around the counter and he sat on the stool across from you. "It's a bit short though" he said seeing the length of your legs that were displayed.
"I know, I already tried talking to my boss but he didn't give two flying fucks" you pouted and Jimin threw his head back in laughter.
"You're still gorgeous" he admitted, catching your hand leaving a gentle peck on the soft skin.
You bit your lip innocently.
"Stop before my ears turn red" you giggle.
"Eh over here!" Some customer called and Jimin turned and death glares them for their rudeness.
"Jimin leave it" you whispered before leaving him to attend the people.
And now Jimin was left with Hongjoon.
