Chapter 70: Exposed Secrets

A thunderous frown appeared on Jade's face as he pulled Sapphire away from Ace.

"What are you doing to Sapphire?" Jade started.

"What do you mean by that? We're friends." Ace explained.

"Don't be like that. This is a misunderstanding." Sapphire interfered, trying to stop Jade from causing any argument.
"I mean... You don't even know him. Well, he's one of Gabby's spon-sors." She stammered as she explained.

"Gabby's spon-sors?" Jade looked at him with so much anger burning through but he tried not to show it.

"Hey, naughty Ace! Since when have you ever sponsored idol singers?" Curiosity laced Jade's eyes as he asked.

With this, Sapphire turned to him, surprised.

"Ace? You mean he's your cousin, the Ace you mentioned to me the other day? So are you Mr. Ace, sir?" She asked with a distrusting look.

"Yes but..." Ace tried to explain but Sapphire cut into his words, abruptly.

"Is that why you never gave me your business card?"

"So this is how you decided to approach my girlfriend?!" Jade fired at Ace, sounding kind of rude.

Sapphire turned to him, wondering where that tune was coming from. As it is, he's been so kind and friendly ever since she'd signed the contract and accepted to date him.

Sapphire's heard raced as she stared at Jade with curiosity. Jade watched her in the same manner as they both shared an eye contact.

"Go inside, I'll call you later." Jade grabbed her arm and pulled her towards her apartment but Sapphire jerked off.

"Wait a second. What are you hiding from me?" She narrowed her eyes at him. I feel like I of my questions, answered before I head in. And if you don't answer than for me, I'll personally ask your cousin, Ace to answer them for me!"

She fired with a stealthy look. With this, Jade explained everything and how he'd taken out the last page of the contract so she wouldn't have to know about Ace.

After a long thought, Sapphire let out and heavy breath as she turned back to the brothers.

"Wait, so what you're saying is... that you're not the only one mentioned in your Grandfather's will and that Mr. Ace Damien too was mentioned there? But you, Mr. Jade Alejandro completely deceived me in order to take advantage of the situation and you, Mr. Ace, only acted nice to me because of the will? I knew something was up!" She cried out, painfully.

"You're a great teacher and you have a good personality, Miss Sapphire." Ace muttered his an apologetic voice.

"Well, I'm aware of that." She replied him rudely and turned to Jade who was totally speechless.

"I'm so sorry. Really. I only started doing this since I wanted to know what kind of person you were."

Jade rolled his eyes at his cousin with so much anger and hatred. It was because of him today, that Sapphire won't even look at him. And she even called him Jade Alejandro, his full name as if they've never had anything special, together.

"I never expected things to have come to this. As it is, you've been a good friend so far." Ace added.

"No, that's not everything!" She hissed at him. You intended to deceive me from the very start so what friendship are you talking about?!

"Well.. that couldn't be helped."

"Wow! You two are really cousin's, aren't you?!" Sapphire asked resting her hands on her hips, teacher-like.

"You two are exactly the same! Birds of the same feather!"

"In what way?" They answered together in a chorus.

"You really don't know?" She rolled her eyes on both of them with their hands, placed into their pockets boss-like.

"You two both have peculiar knack for pissing people off!" She glared at both of them angrily and walked into her apartment.

Both of them looked at themselves, sullenly but Jade felt really provoked. He would have beaten Ace blue-black if not for the fact that they were at Sapphire's residence.

"We'll talk later." He muttered to Ace with a disparagingly, contemptuous smirk that felt like ripping out all the ribs off his cousin's chest.

"Fire!" Jade called after her and walked upstairs, leaving Ace to wonder where she actually lived.

"Wait, he doesn't really have feelings for her, dies he?" As stuttered as he went back into his car and zoomed off into the busy streets.

Meanwhile, Jade met up with Sapphire but she stopped him from entering.

Her full eyeballs blared at him like a thief, caught in an act of murder.

"Stop glaring at me like this, please!" Jade begged.

"What else do you want to lie to me about, beside the will?" She asked as her eyes searched his face for more answers.

"Nothing, okay? It was only one lie. Also, I only left out one page out if the copy I have you because you've already signed the contract!"

'There's still deception, you know?!" She whirred. "Wait! Does that mean Mr. Lucas tricked me too even though he's an attorney? Isn't that the grounds to get him disbarred?"

"I was the one that asked him to do that." Jade bitterly confessed.

"Of course you did. Who else would persuade him to do such an evil thing?!"

"Hey, you don't have to put it like that. I'm simply human, and not evil. Anyone else in my place would've--"

"Wow! You really don't know how to reflect on your wrongdoing, do you?" She fizzed to his surprising face. "You think I'll just let this one slide this time? I knew you had this side to you but really you make me hate you when you act like this! I hate you so very much, Jade!" she swiped her finger through the door knob and banged the door to his face.

Later that day, Jade called dialed Lucas's contact.

"Come to my place." Jade ordered.

"I'm busy, man." Lucas murmured as he stretched from his reading table.

"You better get your butt over here if you don't want to be disbarred." He crazily smatched his phone to the the passanger's seat and drove off.

An hour later, Lucas came to Jade's house as he explained everything to his love-doctor. Or rather, live expert.

"So, what are you going to do now?" Lucas asked, interestedly.

"Don't worry. Jade smirked. I'll prevent the situation than getting worse than it is, anyway I can."

"Hey! That's not the issue right now, okay?" Lucas warned. " The fact that Ace knows the content of the will means he saw it. Also, he won't stop stalking Sapphire if he's interested in her, since you guys have same right in this thing. Wait, so what happens now? Am I smelling a love triangle between you guys!"

"That's just an assumption, dude. We have no concrete evidence he really saw it. Perhaps, Sapphire wouldn't prefer him over me. She wouldn't see him either. I trust her that much. But besides that... What should I do? Sapphire is really angry. She wouldn't even talk to me let alone pick my calls." Jade explained, feeling so bittered.

"Get on your knees and plead for forgiveness, no matter what."

"What? Just because of my grandfather's will? For goodness sake, I'm the CEO of BB hotel!"

"You'll have to do it else, you'll lose everything. Including that title you hold so dear. You'll have to beg her with a remorseful heart."

"Hey! I never even knelt before my grandfather before, all right?!" Jade sneered, pissed off about everything.

"Oh jeez! Are you going to lose Sapphire over your pride? Huh? I'll advise you buy her a bouquet of flowers and act cutesy like a real gentleman that you aren't!" Lucas hissed as he rolled his eyes at his friend.

Jade laughed out loud, after hearing this.

"Hey, I'm not you, you know. You must be joking... Right? I'd never based myself like that! This is ridiculous! Don't you have any other suggestions that aren't childish or corny?! Fuck!" He cursed, trying to suppress the fire burning in him.

"I've got no other ideas for you, lover boy. And you better shoot down those suggestions right away else, you might lose Sapphire this time." Lucas muttered as he adjusted his tie.
