Chapter 5: The Guest
Once Sapphire had checked her student's notebooks, she gave them back with their assignments inside. However, the children who scored high marks got stamps on their books with well-done, good job remarks.
"What about me, teacher? You didn't stamp my book." A girl complained. Sapphire walked to her desk and gave her a stamp.
"Great job, my dear!" She caressed a girl's blonde hair gently.
"Put in your greatest effort on the upcoming health education test and you'll be rewarded with stamps, alright?"
"Okay, teacher!" She made reply with a smiling face.
Jade was in Lucas's car, who had finally convinced him to visit the girl, at least.
"I wonder what kind of woman she is that the chairman loves her so much." Lucas retorted.
"Probably a nine-tailed fox!" Jade hissed. "There's no other rational explanation for how this could have happened."
"Hey, who knows? She might be beautiful, just like Kimberly Kardashian." Lucas joked as he drove towards the address.
"Whatever!" Jade responded to him.
Lucas erupted into loud laughter while his friend simply smiled. "I can't wait to meet this woman."
Sapphire was running around with the children on the field when a car entered the school grounds. She kicked the ball to the other side, making the children run after her. They were all in colourful jerseys... Which was their Physical Education Uniform, also known as P.E. With a bright smile on her face, Sapphire grabbed the ball as they all assembled before her.
"That concludes Physical Education for today, kids! You should wash your hands and get into the class, okay?"
"Okay, Teacher." Her pupils chorused and did what they were told. On the verge of returning to her class, another teacher informed her that she had a guest.
A frown formed on her face as she wondered who it might be. "A guest?"
Walking to the School's guest room, Sapphire saw the two men, dressed in black suits. The fancy ties around their necks made her think they were high class, but when Jade turned her way, she recalled their encounter at Blue Bird Hotel a few days ago.
Jade turned to her, wondering if she was the one or not. She looked so slim and simple. Not like anyone he'd imagined. Not like Kimberly Kardashian or Chloe Charles.
"Umm... What brings you here?" Sapphire started.
Jade looked at her from head to toe. From her shoulder-length Auburn hair to her dirty, white sneakers. Everything about her was so ordinary. He fixed his hands in his pockets and looked at her closely.
Disgustingly.
"Oh, you're here," Lucas muttered. "Please guys, let's have a seat."
Sapphire just wore an empty look. She couldn't understand why he was staring at her like that and what business they had with her.
"It's probably school talk." She thought as she took her seat.
Lucas and Jade sat in front of her on a wooden chair. After that, they gave her their cards, so she would know who they were.
As Sapphire examined the cards, she noticed a small blue bird in the corner of each one - the logo. She couldn't understand what was happening... A line of confusion formed across her forehead while studying the cards.
"Umm... Have you heard about Mr. Stephen Alejandro?" Lucas asked.
"Stephen Alejandro, Stephen Alejandro..." She stuttered, trying to recall the name that sounded familiar.
"I don't have a child by that name in my class. He must be in a different class." She answered.
Jade's lips curled up into a smirk as he let out an exasperated huff. Hearing her say that was unbelievable. Lucas just smiled at her.
"We're not talking about your students, Miss Blac."
"Then why are you here?" She asked.
"Have you ever heard about BB Company?" Lucas pressed further.
"Yes, sure. Everyone knows Blue Bird Company." She explained with a smile.
"The chairman of BB Company is Mr. Stephen Dixon Alejandro." Lucas pointed out.
"Ah! I understand." Sapphire uttered, attempting to make links.
In front of her was Jade's annoying stare. He looked at her with frustration. Though she didn't understand why he had so much hate in his eyes, her smile didn't drop.
"But... What brings you here? I doubt you came all the way here just to tell me that."
"Yes, of course not. Miss Blac. The reason we came here is--" Lucas tried to explain, but Jade cut into his words.
"We're curious about how you wiggled your way into this situation. What exactly did you do to him? Is it by charm or by force? What kind of seductive maneuvers did you use on him... Bitch?"
"Jade..." Lucas pinched him by the side, but he pushed him away, facing Sapphire with that same annoying face as if she were an evil witch with three horns glued to her forehead.
Unable to fathom what was happening, Sapphire let off a sigh. "OMG!"
"OMG?" He frowned. "OMG, what?" He asked her.
"I do not know about what I did exactly. I mean, I don't know you guys and the so-called chairman. But I'm sure of something. That is why you go around with an attorney." Jade turned to Lucas with a frown. He couldn't believe what she just said to him.
"I'm sure you get into tons of trouble with this nasty temper of yours. And what is that look on your face?" She hissed and turned to Lucas.
"I think you should continue speaking instead, Mr. Attorney," Sapphire ordered.
"I apologize," Lucas muttered.
"No, you have nothing to be sorry for. Educated people differ from each other." She folded up her arms and faced Jade with seriousness.
"After all, if not for arrogance and pride, one should apologize if they did something wrong."
Jade looked at her annoyingly. The only reason he was there in the first place was because of his grandfather's will, else...
He huffed angrily and looked away, sulk, while Lucas stared at him hoping he wouldn't explode.
