It was already evening. The sky was the mixture of three beautiful colours; purple, blue and pink. Tiny, butterflies danced all around the environment looking for sweet nectar. The flowers in which they touched spread out a romantic kind of scent that filled the environment making the evening more pleasant. Fresh, windy, cool and crispy air started whistling like an invisible ghost. The huge, trees standing in between the streetlights- along the road, whispered how beautiful the atmosphere was.
Sapphire and Jade gently walked alongside but they weren't holding hands. Sapphire watched Jade as they walked through the path but suddenly, a passer by mistakenly hit Sapphire by the shoulder and walked away without muttering an apology. She clamoured in fear but Jade held her back.
"Are you okay?" He asked with so much concern but before Sapphire didn't reply. He traced her hand and held it tight into his, intertwined.
Noticing this, she looked at his eyes as a smile slowly spread through her leaf-shaped lips. With this, she stopped smiling as a frown covered it immediately so Jade won't think otherwise.
"What?" Jade asked, concerned, again. His eyes glittering over hers.
She nodded her head negatively to reply him nothing.
"Do you like this?" He asked.
A shiver ran through her spine as an awkward feeling played on her mind. She just wasn't comfortable with him but Jade feels cool with all of it. All of these contract relationship feelings which is probably fake.
Later, the bought a can of fruit juice and sipped it along as the walked.
At any rate, I'm being really magnanimous today, so remember that." Jade muttered as they took a seat beside a bench along the roadside.
"You stood me up without a text so don't complain. Also, I shouldn't owe you anything if you're really being magnanimous." She sneered.
"That's why I made all that time for you last time, like a crazy person!" Jade whooshed out like a ball while Sapphire folded her lips together and pressed it down, giving her face a weird look.
"And yet, I'm the one who came to you. Not the other way round. Nothing is for free in the world you know?" He added.
"Wow! You're so stingy."
"No, I'm just starting the obvious. The most important thing I learned from a Governor is to never forget about a debt. Whether it may be a debt you have to repay, or one that you have to be repaid for." He explained and took a gulp of drink down his throat
"You've learned a lot, then. I know you're well experienced but that sounds to me like you're really inconsiderate of others." Sapphire took a sip from hers.
"That's exactly right. Bring considerate is only a hindrance in business." He explained further. With his, Sapphire made the same weird look from earlier and rolled her eyes around in imagination.
"What's with that look on your face?" Curiosity laced Jade's voice as he asked.
"I'm just wondering how it feels to be Jade Alejandro. It must be so nice to be so high-and-mighty like you."
Although, Sapphire and Jade were silent, they walked passionately together till they returned back to Sapphire's apartment. She baded him good night as he drove away into the dark streets.
The Following Morning...
Jade barged into his office as if he was pressed or something. Everyone working, stood up to greet him by he didn't even see any eye contacts.
"See me immediately." Jade gave a eye on Mr. Tim and banged the door at their confused faces.
"Umm.. w..why. why does he wants to see me?" Mr. Tim turned to others with his hands, already shivering. A feeling of euphoria ran through him, immediately.
"Man, I'm scared, too." Mr. George muttered as his scared eyes searched their puzzled faces for an answer or maybe, a word of encouragement at least, but there was nothing.
"Please take care." Miss Barbra stuttered. "And come back alive." She added.
Mr. Tim faked a smile at them as if he was motivated. He went into his boss's office, reciting a silent prayer as if it would be his last.
Seeing the CEO was like he had a lump in his throat. It burned.
"Yes sir, you called me."
Jade took a brown envelope from his table and handed it over to Mr. Tim.
"Can you look into this for me, please?"
He collected it carefully with a bow and checked. It was a file containing the scales of BB Mall prices that was increasing.
"I'm sure that my grandfather has noticed this, too. I think we'll have to take some measures against this. I've been a bit worried since the fake bomb threat from last time." Jade emphasized.
"W... why are you entrusting me with such responsibility, sir?" Mr. Tim muttered, fearfully.
"Because you're the only one I can trust with this." Jade muttered with unusual coolness and restraint.
Mr. Tim's bulgy eyes widened in amazement as he finally felt a little relief.
"You'll have to pick a side and stick to it now. My grandfather may be hard on you now, but I'm planning to be even worse than him for the next thirty years or so." A mysterious smirk formed on Jade's lips.
With this, Mr. Tim felt sir whooshed out if him as if someone kicked his stomach but he tried as much as possible to hide his fears.
"Umm.. of course. I'm.. I'm always with you, sir." Answered, Mr. Tim, with his head slightly tilted forward in respect.
"Yes, of course. I can see that." Jade replied as he took his seat on an executive leathery chair. "You can leave now, Mr. Tim."
Mr. Tim walked out if the office as others rushed to him live someone whom had just been rescued from the lion's den.
"What happened?" Miss Barbara rushed to him first.
"Tell us, are you alright?" Mr. George followed.
Just then, Tim slowly raised his head at them and let out a ridiculous laughter. The rest of them turned to him in confusion.
"Don't worry guys, I got a promotion!"
"Yaaaayyyy!!!" Others rejoiced with him.
"Yes guys. He said her trust me. For the first time, ever!" Mr. Tim explained with excitement laced in his voice.
Meanwhile, Sapphire's principal came to her class at school. She was busy doing a lesson plan and writing a lesson note for her students.
"I feel our class has a lot of demo classes." He explained.
"That's true, sir." She replied him and sighed out heavily.
Looking at the calendar on her table, she wished she had more free time to spend with the kids.
***
Later that day...
Sapphire was taking her students dancing class when her phone vibrated. Like a kite that would fly off, she quickly rushed to it and answered the call.
"Yes?" Sapphire answered Jade.
"Aren't you coming?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to see you today." She explained.
"Are you going to keep doing this to me? You canceled on me last time, too! Despite the fact, I visited you!"
"And that's why we took a walk, didn't we? I have to prepare for my demo class and my girls are competing in a dance competition next month!" Sapphire murmured.
"Wait! So, are you implying that those tiny things are more important than me?"
"Of course, they are!" Sapphire cut into his words even before he completed it.
"Let's just forget about today and meet up next weekend. I'm so busy right now, I can't even rest. This isn't a favor, Jade. It's a request. Oh yeah. Isn't it your turn to visit me this time? It's only fair that way, okay? She ended the call abruptly and continued with her students.
"She cuts the call again." Jade scoffed as he tried to supress his anger.
"I can't take this!" Jade bit his lower lip as anger welled up in him.
He grabbed his jacket and walked out if his office. His workers wandered their eyes after him as he walked out. Wondering where he was off to without announcing it to anyone.
Jade jumped into his car and spend off to Sapphire's school.
He packed his white car at the front of the building, dialing her phone over and over but she wasn't picking up.
At the front of the school was a mini-sized football field. About five students were playing a fall when it suddenly rolled to where Jade was standing.
"Kick us the ball, please!" One of the kids exclaimed under the hot sun.
He kicked it towards the football post as the child who was keeping among them grabbed the ball in his hands.
"That was smart but where in hell is Sapphire?" A voice sounded in his mind. He just had to go in. But first, he checked the principal's office.
"Good day sir. Please I'm looking for Miss Sapphire Blac. Is she in?"
"Yes, Her class is next door. Please, go ahead." The principal added with a welcoming smile.
"Thank you." Jade replied his smile as he gently pulled the door open.
"Here you are. Who doesn't have a pen?" Sapphire asked as she hands each student a pen for their upcoming tests.
Just then, Sapphire turn towards the door as she saw Jade. Her smile dropped immediately.
Jade closed the door behind him and proudly walked like a boss that he is. He folded his hands backwards and observed the class while some of the students turned back at him in distraction. A surprising look stuck at Sapphire's face as she watched him walk in. It felt as if her heart was beating faster than she could think.
"All right, everyone. Today, we'll be reading a biography and writing a review. As well as, your thoughts about yourselves, okay?"
"Okay teacher!" The students chorused at once. Including Jade. But his weird voice made the kids turned to him once more before writing.
