Chapter 25: At The Toy Shop🤖🤖🤖

***

"Fine. Why don't you become a nun, so we'll know you aren't meant to be touched? I don't care what you think you are but don't dare fall for me, understood?" Jade warned.

Sapphire blushed at him sarcastically. "That's what I wanted to say! Well, we've met today, so let's count this as our official meeting for this week. We met on Thursday, Friday, and today Saturday. Our meeting is once a week, mister!"

"I don't think so." He uttered and paused for a bit while Sapphire glared at him like an idiot.

"We have to meet more often than once a week. It's not based on the frequency of our meetings. What's important is establishing and maintaining some regularity. Since I'm the only guy you're dating. I wouldn't want you to be home alone, and crying at night like most girls do. Perhaps, your missed calls wouldn't let me stay away from you, whatever! It's a bit stuffy in here, let's go outside for a stroll." He suggested.

Sapphire didn't move an inch. She was so pissed off at the moment. It felt as if his words drove her nuts so did his character.

Jade cast a brief look at her and carried her phone in case she might forget, as usual. Then he grabbed the bouquet of flowers like a piece of rag.

"That's mine. My flowers! W... What are you doing right now, give it to me!" Sapphire cried and begged.

She had no choice but to run after him like a child. Other customers turned to her and simpered sarcastically at her whining, but she didn't care. All Sapphire wanted was the bouquet of flowers. It was the first bouquet she's ever got from anyone. Gabby was really sweet to have given it to her.

Jade threw it into the dustbin as he stepped out. Sapphire cried and carried her bouquet of flowers. It still looked adorable. Jade scattered the flowers and tore the wrap in anger. Then he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the restaurant.

Immediately they got outside, Jade walked faster, leaving sad Sapphire to follow him like a lost lamb. It looked as if a sudden coldness took over her body.

He didn't even look back, or look at his sides, or care if she was actually following him happily or not. He buttoned up his grey, fitted suit and placed his hands into his pocket like he usually does. Not only that, but he walked like the boss he was. Sapphire rushed to him from time to time, but she just couldn't meet up with his fast, footsteps.

Upright and resentful, she stopped him with her hand on his arm.

"Do other people know how terrible a person you are?"

He turned to her in a blink. "Yeah... But I don't care." He replied to her and continued walking.

Although Sapphire felt like giving him the beatings of his life, she just followed him. Walking to a building, she stopped him in between.

"Why a concert hall, of all places?"

He cast a weird look at her. "My hotel is a sponsor."

"Ugh!" Sapphire sighed tiredly.

"What's it again?" He frowned. "Do you hate musicals and plays on top of documentaries too?"

"No, that's not it." She tried to cover up. Then she took a sincere glance at him.

"You've never dated a woman before, have you?"

"Why did you say so?" He turned to her completely.

"Isn't it obvious? I bet all your ex-girlfriends and your baby Mamas were hooked up with you only because of the weight of your pocket. Since you look like a normal person, despite everything. So, which of them did you date?"

Jade stared at her with another awkward look. She always asks questions that are out of this world.

Sapphire moved closer and studied his eyes.
"You don't remember the number, or you don't remember the name? Which of it?"

Jade went silent.

"But you've always got dumped, right? Is that why you're so damaged as a human being?" She confronted.

"Wow! You're just so impossible!" Jade swished. "What kind of ridiculousness is this? For your information, I've never been dumped by a woman in my life." He pointed out.

"You probably got dumped without you realizing that you got dumped." She made it clear. "Let's be realistic for a second. I'm sure that those women probably didn't like you much, either. They probably liked your title though. At least, you're not a poor boy." A smirk laid across her lips.

"And how are you sure about that?"

"Because you're working in the middle of a date! Who would like a man like that?"

"Why won't any woman like a man like me?! I mean, this is something I have to do, anyway. I'm killing two birds with one stone. Likewise, I'm literally saving time." Jade expatiated. Feeling so proud of himself.

Hearing him say this made Sapphire chuckle. But it sounded like a cruel chuckle to Jade's ears. He gave her a crazy look as she stopped.

"What a relief." She smiled softly.

"Why?" He frowned.

"Because it's clear that you haven't fallen for me. There's no one in his right state of mind that would be frugal with their time when seeing someone they like. It's natural for two people to date. If anything, they go out of their way to make time. Well, you want to save time, right? Good! Go ahead! Keep it up, Mr. CEO!!" She applauded him.

"Don't you dare fall for me? I'm sure that won't be easy for you, though."

Jade unconsciously burst into laughter.

"Why are you laughing?" She looked at him dumbfounded.

"Whatever!" She muttered and placed her hand in his palm. "Come, let's go."

"Go where?" Jade's smile curved into a frown.

"We went to a Cinema last time like you wanted, so it's my turn to choose now. That's only fair. Come on." She grabbed his arm and pulled him the way he did earlier on.

"I should have said hello to the stage director at least." He complained.

"You can do that after our date." She pulled him forward to talk faster.

Meanwhile, Ace was at the other side of a corner, listening to their every conversation. Immediately they left, he came out of his hiding place with a mysterious look on his face. He narrowed his dark eyes as he watched the couple walk farther into the street.

"How dare you hold my hand." Jade flinched away from Sapphire's touch.

"OMG! You're so impossible!" Sapphire rolled her eyes at him. "Just follow me." She ordered as they both walked side by side.

They got into a toy shop. Jade scrolled his eyes around the place uncomfortably.

"What's it?" Sapphire asked him.

"Don't worry about me. Go inside, I'll wait for you outside." He suggested.

"No, we both came here together, didn't we? We have to save time after all. Killing two birds at a time."

Jade hissed at her as she mentioned the word.

"Is that what you really want?" His eyes surveyed hers.

"I told you yes!" She muttered, tired of arguing with him.

"It's not like you're a child! You're not 10 years old. What do you want to do here?"

Sapphire leaned towards him a little. "The kids that I teach are 10 years old." She whispered in his ears.

"Come on, let's go." She pushed him upstairs as she bought two boxes of toys.
