Chapter 123: Life After Marriage
Antigua And Barbuda Island
3 Days After Wedding
The newly wedded couple gazed at the sunset for a minute. Sapphire stared at the rosy clouds and commented, “It looks like I can just pluck the clouds out of the sky and eat them. Don’t they look like cotton candy?”
“I love the way you think.” Jade laughed.
Sapphire sighed, stretching her arms above her head and then placed them behind her back on the soft mossy ground. With this, she leaned on her elbows, and then, eventually, lied down completely. Later on, Sapphire folded her hands behind her head and watch the last of the sun’s rays disappear below the horizon. The first stars peek out from the black curtain sweeping above their heads and the light of the full moon. There aren’t any craters or bruises — just a polished sphere of white looking down at the both of them.
Sapphire glanced at Jade, surprised to realize that he was looking at her.
Or her lips.
“Is something wrong?” she asked. “What are you looking at, exactly?” She whispered in his ears, but it sounded seductive.
“At something,” he agreed, staring at her with something in his eyes that she hadn’t seen before.
Sapphire couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. “Is something wrong?” her voice raised a little louder as she sat up.
Jade didn’t reply, instead leaned in closer. He laid down next to her and propped up by his elbow. His face was only a hair’s breadth away from Sapphire’s. She turned to look at him and he pressed forward. He kissed her, lightly.
Sapphire had known in her heart all along that he loved her. And now it hit her full force now, that she would never get tired of him, no matter what.
His hand crept up her spine, pulling her closer till their forehead meets. Jade’s hand rested on her little curvy hip and behind her neck. His lips opened up to hers. Trembling, she obeyed.
Sapphire almost couldn’t breathe as his roving hands swept up her hips. She knew she wanted to kiss him back. She wanted to as well, but she was so shocked that her eagerness was completely immobilized.
He pulled away. “Kiss me,” he whispered softly into her ears. Like the touch of a butterfly on a flower.
Sapphire gently closed her eyes and pressed her lips to his. Soft and moist, her hand ran through his dark hair. She felt a tremor go through his body before he wrapped his arm around hers in hot Love and passion.
Jade slide his body on top of hers, bracing himself with his elbows so she doesn’t get the full brunt of his weight. He kissed her harder, almost aggressively. His mouth opened hers. Sapphire swiveled her head back and forth, mapping out Jade’s inviting lips. It wrapped her up in the kiss and didn’t want it to stop.
Jade’s hands clutched her forearms, preventing her from moving. His arms stopped carrying so much of the weight and he pushed down on Sapphire. He ran his fingers through her soft auburn hair. She couldn’t breathe fluently. So, her body pushed off of the ground and he slid his body off of Sapphire’s.
His lips parted with hers and they both panted heavily.
Then Sapphire scooted closer. She hadn’t been this close to anyone before, and it made her feel safe. Sapphire kissed him gently, nothing fancy. In a swift, she stood up, noticing that it’s already dusk. Jade did the same.
“Where are you going, now, love bird?!” He asked, turning his back at her.
“Let’s continue inside.” She replied to him. “Catch me if you can!” She ran faster towards their mansion. It felt so peaceful and beautiful.
And before Sapphire could run farther, Jade took off, sprinting towards their house.
With something written in the silver sands. “I want to spend my next life with you, Sapphire Blac.”
The icy waves of the seashore washed it away as Jade ran after her and caught up with her. He grabbed her legs like that of a baby and carried her inside.
After that, Jade and Sapphire took a love bath together and jumped into bed. Everything felt so heavenly. Sapphire loved it. Zoey sent a copy of their wedding video she’d recorded earlier that day. Sapphire played it so the both of them would watch before going to bed.
After Jade’s passionate kiss, they stared at the camera with a bright smile.
“Congratulations!” she commented. While Jade and Sapphire waved at her.
“Huh? What’s this?” She gazed closer into the camera. Zoey was still recording it but she wasn’t sure.
“It is recording?” She asked herself and did a farewell speech. Something she missed.
“Fire! Omg! I still can’t believe you got married before me. Well, I’m not offended. You two look good together and despite what happened, your wedding is still the best I’ve attended so far. I hope you and Jade live a nice and happy life together.” Hearing her say this made Sapphire feel emotional. Tear drops dropped the corner of her eyes in happiness. Jade held her close and wiped out the tears.
“And if he upsets you, better let me know. I’d rip off his heart with one grip!” She joked over the screen, making the couple chuckle at her words and reaction.
“I hope someday I’d find my prince charming, too.” Zoey uttered wishfully.
Watching the video, Sapphire and Jade saw Lucas walked into her boutique. She didn’t know, but she heard his footsteps and turned back.
“What are you doing here again?” She asked.
“Wait, are they dating?” Jade raised his eyebrows in surprise.
“I thought they were just friends...” Sapphire replied him.
“I need to talk to you, Zoey! Why are you avoiding me? It’s unfair the way you treat me.” Lucas’ confession sounded like a baby’s cry.
Sapphire and Jade stared dumbfounded ly.
“What do you want from me, Mr. Attorney?” Zoey folded her arms around her chest, unaware that the camera was still recording them.
“We have a connection, didn’t we? I want to marry you.” He confessed. “I love you, Zoey. I can’t wait any longer.”
“Let’s sign a 6-months relationship contract first. Then I’ll consider if I’m going to accept your proposal.” She said and turned back to off the camera.

A Year Later...
Sapphire offered online courses and now owns her own orphanage home. Every year, 50% of BB Company’s benefit goes to B.B Orphanage, where Sapphire runs. It has a big school around it and a cathedral right in the middle of the building.
John’s farm too expanded while Fiona got her herbal store, changed into a pharmaceutical industry as promised. Everything went smoothly for everyone and Gabby was already in college, alongside Ruby at the University of California, Los Angeles, studying music. They visited the orphanage from time to time as they were now, star musicians and do, collaborations together.
Sapphire planted different shades of flowers which added bright colours into their house. As Jade’s wife, she did all her best to make him happy. Cooking his favorites and spending time with the children.
Jade, however, extended the Blue Bird Company. Including his hotel and other branches, he managed perfectly.
“That’s the report regarding our guest and transportation.” Mr. Tim explained to him, showing him a pie chat of how their business is improving and all.
“So... We’re expecting new shares to be purchased for our hotel, so it would be beneficial to pay special attention to that.” Jade added
“Yes, sir.” Mr Tim replied. “The funds were low, but we’re still going to build on it.”
Bing! Bing!! Bing!!!
Jade’s phone vibrated. He picked it up immediately and checked the message that had just entered.
“Have you ever taken poison that won’t kill you?” He suddenly blushed at the message. Interested, Mr. Tim stretched his neck, trying to get the message.
Jade caught him, and he looked away.
“Don’t worry. It’s nothing.”
“No, why?” Jade replied her.
“I’m at a classical music concert with your mum. Plus, she’d made me watch wildlife documentation for three hours. The most boring of all.”
She sent a funny sticker of a girl, stabbing herself and won’t die.
Jade laughed hard at it, and Mr. Tim joined the laughter. As if being tempered with, Jade turned a stern look at him, Me. Tim looked away, fearfully.
Meanwhile, Sapphire was texting Jade messages by the corner where she sat. Kate, along with her friends and their daughter-in-law, we’re listening to the classical music as if it had a lyric or something. ‘It’s sound like a lullaby in my ears.’
“Just bear with her. She would love you more, that way.” Jade persuaded.
Reading his message, Sapphire let out a soft sigh, trying not to fall asleep.
“Tchaikovsky would always be Tchaikovsky, no matter what. His piece is light to the soul.” Violet, one of Kate's friend’s daughter-in-law commented.
“My daughter is quite knowledgeable about music, you see.” Kate’s friend commented. Sapphire just faked a smile to feel among.
“What kind of music do you like, Sapphire Blac?” the woman asked her.
“Me?” she pointed out nervously. “Ummm.... Love Symphony by Gabriel Anderson.”
“He’s also nicknamed Gabby, you see. He’s just made his second album, so please try to download and listens to it. Oh, and he’s on a music programme today. So, I’d be more thankful if you could text him your votes and leave positive comments.” Sapphire added.
Kate’s friends and their daughters-in-law glanced at her with an awkward look at if she suddenly grow two horns.
“What age are you from, dear? You have terrible taste in music.” Someone said.
“Why do you listen to pop music? You’re not a child.” Another hissed.
‘For someone from B.B Empire to say something like this is so out of it." Another added.
Sapphire’s smile faded with their negative comments. She looked sad. Although; she tried to hide it. Kate noticed.
“That fellow sings well.” Kate backed her up with a gentle smile.
“Whether classical music or pop music, the sincerity put into that music is the most important thing, don’t you agree?” She asked her friends. Those that had spoken I’ll about her daughter-in-law.
“My daughter-in-law is the madam of BB Company. She’s an educational facilitator and also a philanthropist. We don’t just allow anyone into our family because he or she knows a little about music or art.” Kate defended with a motherly smile.
Others felt ashamed of accusing Sapphire. They just turned away.
Sapphire's lips formed a bright smile. She was happy that Kate had her back. They dressed her in an elegant pink gown and nude heels, looking like a madam. Of course, she is now.
“I don’t know if this is enough...”
“It’s okay, fire. But why don’t you rest at home since it’s the weekend?” Jade proposed.
“I can’t. I told you, I’m volunteering at the orphanage where Gabby’s mum works. Today, I and Gabby would give out charity.
“Well, don’t do the bazaar, then! It’s difficult as it looks on you. Aren’t you stressing too much on these?”
“How could I do that? Mother-in-law is hosting it. And also, I think it’s fun.” She smiled.
“It’s hard on you, darling. You’ll get worn out, at this rate. See, you're sweating already.” He complained.
“Come on, Jade. Everyone sweats. You’re sweaty right now so, don’t be overprotective, okay? I’ll be fine.”
She placed some heavy bags and boxes inside her jeep while Jade helped her with it.
“Okay, that’s all for now. Bye!”
“Be careful, fire. I love you.”he watched her open the car door. Then she turned back to give him a tight hug. Everything felt better with him by her side. They look so happy together and every day, they were happier.
“Bye now. She told him, looking into his eyes. Jade planted a soft hiss on her lips before they parted.
