Chapter 117: A Surprise Trip

The Following Day...

2:00 p.m

Sapphire walked out if her class while everyone had gone home. Climbing downstairs she raised her gaze at Jade whom was awaiting with his while jeep, as usual. He noticed the surprised look on her face and moved closer. Sapphire felt like evaporating into the thin air, she couldn't believe her eyes.

"What are you so surprised about, wifey? You're making me feel bad."

Sapphire wore a stern look at him and walked down to where he was. Don't shout okay, were not even married yet  and... I didn't know that I'd run into you here." She explained, avoiding his gaze. Turning away, Jade held her wrist and pulled her towards him. His hands wrapped around her waist.

"And what does that mean? You didn't give me a good reply last night so I came to pick you up."

Sapphires pushed him away as he let go.

"Don't hold me, someone might see us." She looked around in fear.

He held her hand again, firmly.

"I really don't have the luxury to be considerate of your circumstances. Do you want me to kiss you right now?"

She nodded her head negatively and just followed him. He opens the door and made sure she sat inside, looking at her with an annoying frown. The was he used to. He started his car and drove off.

"Are you in any relationship?" He asked.

"No.." she admitted.

"Good, I'm not dating anyone either."

Sapphire turned to him, nodding her head.

"You aren't just annoying. It seems you're also a pro at lying."

"Lying about what? You're the only one dating someone else. I caught you severally with that blonde whatever!" He hissed.

Sapphire scoffed at him.
"Well, I at least, only went for lunch with a guy. Unlike you shopping with a doll all giddily!" She rolled at eyes at him.

"What are you talking about?" He looked at her confused. "What did you even see and who gave you that rumour?"

"FYI, I caught you holding her like... Ugh! You're so unbelievable."

"Oh when did I go for shopping?" He thought about it and then remembered. A smile spread across his lips, making him chuckle.

"Oh my! You had fun, right?"

"At least you didn't see us going into the same hotel room." He joked.

Tired of his talk, Sapphire let out an heavy breath. "You know what? Stop the car!"

"She's my younger sister!" He muttered. Jade turned to him searching his eyes for more answers. She's from Paris. She's the last granddaughter of Alejandro. I stayed with her parents when I lived there. You said hello back then to my aunt's husband right? Anty Betty."

Remembering the art gallery, sapphire twisted her finger. "Oh! Yes, I remember!"

She looked away in surprise. Noticing it wasn't the road to her house, her eyebrows furrowed in unison.

"Where are we going?"

"I realized I haven't given you any specific gifts or treatment since we met. So, let me surprise you today."

"What is this surprise about?" She asked with a cute smile that lights her pretty face. "I'd have gone home to clean up."

"Don't worry, just lay back." He muttered with a mysterious smirk on his lips.

They got to the airport. There was a private jet awaiting their arrival.

"And what's that?" She asked, more surprised. I'm not ready for this.

"Come on, fire. There's no turning back now." He held her hand as they wanted the plane, side by side.

It was a first class private jet and everything were ready for them. There were two air hostesses in the jet. Jade called one of them and he took her to the other room. It looked just like paradise. Sapphire took a warm shower in a bathing tub and they showed her an array of clothes she picked from.

Looking clean again, Sapphire and Jade had lunch carbonara pizza, churros and red wine for lunch. Everything went smoothly as they chit-chat about their heartbreak and all. It was their first time  Sapphire traveled through airplane.

An hour later, the plane landed on an island. It was a countryside before them was a blue sea. Sapphire couldn't help but to wonder where on Earth they were.

"Where are we?" She asked, still surprised.
"North America. This is Antigua and Burbuda Island. We will be spending the night here and leave tomorrow. First, let me show you my favorite place in the world."

A car came to pick them up and drove into the woods. It wasn't far, though. Jade too her to one of his private mansion. There were guards and maid and everything felt lovely.

Later that evening, Jade took Sapphire to the seashore. It looked beautiful watching sunset at such a beautiful sight. Sapphire wore a light flowery gown while Jade was in simple singlet and shorts. It's the first time Sapphire saw him dressed like that. She felt goosepimples growing on her skin.

"Don't be shy now, we're alone here." He muttered and held her hand, interlocking his fingers through hers. Sapphire wanted to let go but her held her firmly. As they walked side by side, watching the blue, endless ocean.

"So, about yesterday. What's your reply?" Sapphire looked at him Speechlessly.

"Wait, no. Your answer isn't really important any more. Because whatever happens, I'm going to marry you, Sapphire Blac. And this time, I'd hold your hands firmly. Nothing and no one would be able to take you away from me again."

"We can't just married because we want to. What are our parents going to say about us. I don't know what to say right now, Jade."

"You don't have to tell me that. I already know. And you don't have to do anything either. Just say by my side. We're being too slow, Sapphire. I just want you to know that when I picture myself happy, it's with you. Don't think too much about it."

"It's not going to be easy, you know? I'm just a Gardener's daughter. It's as if we live in different worlds. How do I fit into yours?" her eyes fell down, in disappointment.

"Do you really want me to get married to another woman and live a happy life?" his thick eyebrows pulled up in unison.

Sapphire pulled away from his grip, annoyed that he's still talking about another women despite everything, but he pulled her back wrapping his hands around hers tightly.

"I don't want that either. I told you I won't let go, ever. I don't want another man by your side or another woman by mine either. It's not about having a perfect relationship, Fire. It's about finding someone who matches you and would go through everything for you without giving up. You've gone through a lot for me, Sapphire. I can't let you go just like that." He spoke with earnestly while sharing an eye contact with her.

Sapphire gazed at him as if every word he says has an effect.

"I don't know about you but the last two months have been the worst. I wasn't myself, fire. I couldn't stop thinking about you."

"Me too." She replied, feeling guilty.

"Then stay by my side and be my woman. Let's spend forever with each other. Other people break up because they don't love each other but we broke up because we do."

"W..what did you just say?" Sapphire held him closer, tears gathered her eyes.

"I'm saying I love you, Sapphire. I truly love you."

Hearing this, tears spilt over her face. Soft sobs escaped her lips as great tremor took over her.

"What's wrong, Sapphire. Did I say something wrong?" His eyes searched hers in confusion.

"Why have you been the one saying it? Why do you still love me despite everything? Knowing the chairman donated his heart to me makes me feel guilty. Hearing you saying this again makes me feel more guilty. I wanted to tell you that before the kidnap... Ace took me away from you." Her bottom lips quivered as if it took her words away.

Watching her break down like this was touchy and emotional. Jade held her into a hug as she cried on his shoulders. She let the tears flow freely to his earthy scented shirt. She just hated the situation.

"M...ake sure you get your family's blessing, and we'll visit mine." She sniffled.

"What?" Jade pulled to see her face.

"As long as you love me, Jade. I'll never leave your side. I'm going to love your family no matter what. I'm going to marry you, Jade."

"What?!" Excitement laced his face. "You mean it, right. There's no going back, this time. No change of mind."

"Yes, Jade. I'll never change my mind. I'll go through everything with you. I love you." She confessed,  hocking on her own tears.

Jade smiled softly and cooed.

He placed his forehead to hers. He tilted slightly till their lips were so close. Sapphire felt his breath on her lips and closed her eyes, cherishing the moment. He leaned in closer and placed his lips upon hers. Softly and gently, he brushed his lips against hers and stopped in a passionate click.

Jade stopped for a while but Sapphire took him by surprise. Her hot, opening lips held his with the utmost piety. She gave little sips with an impatient wriggle to his upper lip.
Sapphire pressed her mouth to his lower lips so hard that she could feel the peppermint taste of his lips. In the same manner, Jade kissed her repeatedly, with his fingers fondling with the back of her hair.

"Thanks for coming this far with me, Sapphire Blac." Jade ended it with a soft cuddle. A small smile settled on her lips as she tried controlling her heavy breaths.
