Nagas are like mermaids. But instead of a fish tail, they have a snake tail.

The current law is that nagas are not human or monster. They, to the government are creatures. That's why most zoos have them on display. But mostly, because of over kill, some species a starting to go down in numbers. Especially ball pythons.

Ball python nagas have such a variety of colors and patterns there skins are used for numbers of things; purses, belts, coats, boots, etc. Hunters and poachers love nagas, and ball pythons are especially there favorites. They've hunted them for there skins to the point the species of naga is now considered endangered. So that's why in this book, Error is so voluble.

The zoo keepers or just 'keepers' as Error calls them, try desperately to pair him up with another ball-naga for breeding. But to there dismay, Error either ignores them or fights with them. It's not that Error doesn't want to mate and have children, that's something he wants the most. Is just the keepers don't understand a nagas ideal mating environment and at what age they should breed.

Error is the oldest naga the zoo has. He is sexually mature, he had crossed that threshold a long time ago. But the males the keepers pare him with are not. They are usually in there teens or early adulthood and haven't crossed that barrier of adolescence.

Humans go through sexual maturity during there teen years. Some teens might have sex during that time but your not truly mature until your early adulthood between 20-30s. That's when humans are, supposedly, at the perfect age to reproduce.

Monsters(in this story) are different. They age slower than humans and have a longer lifespan that goes into the hundreds. They reach sexual maturity in their 20s and the perfect age for them to reproduce is in their 30-40s.

Nagas are a similar to monsters except they stop aging at a certain point in their life. Normally around the time there tail stops growing. With out any interference, some species can live forever. This means they have a very slow reproductive cycle. Nagas reach sexual maturity in there early 100-120s. The time they usually breed and have eggs are in there mid 130-140s. Some species are different but it's what most go by.

Error is near the age of 130 while the males he's partnered up with are in their 70-90s. That why he refuses to breed with them; there only children and teens while he's a grown adult.

The keepers truly don't understand and go by monsters age. It's not that it's there fault, nagas have been researched but there's not much in the findings so no one knows how to deal with them fully. But because of the threats to the species zoos and reserves take them in.
