Thank You!

Hey guys! It's Kailee here.

Thank you so much for reading this story(even though it was cringe level 500+). If you already understand the story plot or want to keep your interpretation, then skip to the three dots below to read!!!

Though if some of you don't quite understand the plot of it or the moral, let me explain:

The 'person' that the narrator is talking to is actually not an actual human being, but the embodiment of happiness.

Through the narrator's sequence of events, it starts off as him/her being a child, which is where happiness tends to be all the time(or at least should be).

Though as our narrator grows up, they seem to forget happiness while being caught up with parents, school, and just life in general. This is where the narrator 'forgets' happiness' name.

Though happiness is finally seen in high school where it seems like everyone has it except for the narrator. It looks like the more popular kids are happy, so why can't he/she be?

The narrator then finds something temporary to be able to 'see' happiness and live in the emotion. They compare happiness to the moonlight because of how beautiful it is to look at and bask in, but the narrator doesn't quite understand where the light is actually coming from that happiness seems to shine.

The narrator then wants more of this light that happiness gives, but uses materialism in order to get it. The moonlight/moon/happiness now goes dark, or becomes a 'new moon', and the narrator doesn't quite understand why their moonlight has gone dark.

He/she then goes through a phase of desperation and since they are so immersed into trying to be happy, they forget about their dreams and goals in life that also made them happy. The dreams and ambitions had 'drowned' in their materialistic thinking.

After being given time(which is an important thing to have) to think and wonder about their life decisions, they realize that happiness' name is not an object or anything materialistic, but a reflection of themselves.

The moral is that much like the moon, happiness is a reflection of light, and in order for you to be happy, that light has to be you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. It means an endless amount to me. Writing is a wonderful way of expressing oneself and encouraging others that life is bigger than what we have here.

For those struggling at the moment, understand that the problems that you're having now won't matter in another year, and are not worth stopping your life over.

Live life safely; it's always okay to take risks and go out of your comfort zone to achieve the goals and dreams you have.

Don't let anyone destroy your dream, including yourself. We are our biggest critics, and sometimes need to self-reflect in order to keep from demolishing the things we love in life.

It's okay to be happy, it's okay to be sad, it's okay to be scared, it's okay to be angry. These are all emotions we were given in life, so don't hide them; it's much more damaging than you think.

You only live once, so be a person that you'd look up to. Love you all, and hope you have wonderful days/nights!

Thank you again,
