It was a bright day
Students from different schools were there
I waved to my friends on my left then to my right
Everyone painted a smile on their faces
But deep inside I knew they were nervous.

Me and you were there and everything was fine
We were sitting and watching the performers as they shine
Many were singing and dancing;
Some are just talking and doing some picture taking
And you were with a teacher while I was with my friend talking.

As I was watching them,
I wished it was me and you on the stage
Telling others how I met my inspiration;
How I met this flawless guy with his precious smiles;
And how he gave meaning to everything.

I looked at you and it wasn't a mistake
That I caught your eyes looking at me as well
My heart skipped a beat
So I averted my gaze
Trying to hide the smile on my lips.

Later that afternoon,
Everyone was trying to keep it cool
Watching the winner's chair like an impressive red moon
And I knew I was a fool
When I wished the world wants us to rule.

I was also anxious that time
But when they called my name
Everyone stopped then went bright
I suddenly went out of line
I stood there frozen until you came.

I climbed on the stage
And you were in front of me
I knew you wanted to be with me but hesitated
My lips formed a smile as you were taking my picture,
Was it your phone?

I isolated myself and felt down for a moment
But then you encouraged me to join them
You held my hand tightly as we run into the stage
That time, we were like running away from a cage
October 6 was the exact date.

Everything went clear that day
How your name started to affect me so much;
How I felt so broken when our paths separated
I never wished to fall for a comrade
Yet my heart betrayed me it makes me so mad.

I wish we could drive back to that moment
And let the steering wheel roll out
We'll then see what happens on November 16
For we built sunshine together in my dreams
So may this poem reach you and make you realize
How you wasted another girl who accepts who you really are.
