King's Kindness

The candlelight flickers
as my soul jitters
of thinking about the end
of this crisis, my friend.

As time goes by
it echoes in my ears,
the people's cry
I never liked to hold dear.

But as I look up,
I see the hope that never stops,
and at my side,
people's kindness' still resides.

They reach their hands
to others living in the streets
because they understand
that this is such a tangled beat.

We may be suffering
but it's not the end game;
listen to your heart beating
for there's a fire to be reclaimed.

The King's kindness
is like an enchanted forest;
helping you up, helping you breathe
from the shadows pulling you from beneath.
